To ask if you wear your rings or not?

Just curious. Mine come on and off all the time. I don't wear them at work as I have a physical job and there's too much of a danger of having them catch in something and losing a finger. (Seriously)
Sometimes it depends what I'm wearing and whether the rest of the jewellery that I have on matches them or not.

DH never takes his wedding ring off, but he's not bothered about whether I wear mine or not. I wouldn't be bothered if he didn't wear his either, however my not wearing mine all the time seems to get MIL very riled. So naturally I rarely wear them around her just because I know it pisses her off ;)

She used always give out about BIL's ex wife not wearing hers all the time and 'no wonder they split up'. They split up because BIL was shagging someone else, but as far as MIL is concerned, he can do no wrong. He never wore his either, but 'it's different for men' Hmm

DH hardly ever

Me all the time but wedding ring only as I don't want to lose a stone from my engagement ring or eternity ring. I've only ever taken them off for surgery or when heavily pregnant

CharlyAngelic · 13/03/2019 19:35

I wear mine rarely.
OH would not have one .

ShesABelter · 13/03/2019 19:36

I wear my engagement and wedding ring all the time. I work in an office environment though.

Easterbunnyiscomingsoon · 13/03/2019 19:36

Dh always. With a plastic tube at the back after he lost it twice in the first few months!!
Me - only as leaving the house on days off work. Back off when I get in. Stones still sparkly and band bits still unscratched..

Awrite · 13/03/2019 19:38

I stopped wearing my engagement ring a long time ago. Beautiful ring but not for me. I don't like what it represents either.

I like my wedding band. Dh wears one too. Simple and understated.

isseywithcats · 13/03/2019 19:38

only on nights out i work in catering setting and cant wear them at work not allowed so its a treat to put some bling on when we go out

Jebuschristchocolatebar · 13/03/2019 19:38

I rarely wear mine. I work in an office so have no excuse really. I don’t really find wearing rings very comfortable and they annoy me. My dh wears his all the time but he is not bothered by my not eating them. My mil gets very annoyed by it and thinks it’s disrespectful

PumpkinPie2016 · 13/03/2019 19:40

My husband doesn't wear his wedding ring all of the time because his work sometimes involved using chainsaws and other tools which it could get caught in and so it would be dangerous.

I always wear my wedding ring - it's just important to me to wear it. I only took it off very late in my pregnancy because it got too tight and I worried it would have to be cut off.

I don't wear my engagement ring or the one MIL gave me everyday because they catch on things but I will wear them if, for instance, we go out for a meal.

Merryoldgoat · 13/03/2019 19:40

DH never seems to take his off.

Mine go on and off but I wear at least one about 90% of the time.

SrSteveOskowski · 13/03/2019 19:42

@Jebus, sounds like we have the same MIL! If you really want to get to her, wear a different ring on your wedding finger. I thought mine was going to keel over when I did that.

Not yet, but I live in hope ;)

I wear mine everyday. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I took them off. Probably at the end of my last pregnancy so about 2.5 years ago?

CalmDownPacino · 13/03/2019 19:44

I never took it off the first time I was married. This time I won't be wearing one at all. He wants to exchange at register office, which I've agreed to, but I'll not wear mine.

MyBreadIsEggy · 13/03/2019 19:44

I only take mine off if I’m doing something particularly messy in the kitchen like kneading dough or something.
DH takes is metal one off at work for safety reasons - he’s military so it has to come off for ranges etc. I’ve personally seen some pretty rank degloving injuries of fingers from blokes not taking rings off and getting caught in the working parts of weapons Confused

swampytiggaa · 13/03/2019 19:45

I’ve never taken mine off since we got married (18 years) H very rarely wears his. We are both happy with our decision 🙂

MyBreadIsEggy · 13/03/2019 19:46

He also has a silicone one which he wears if he’s out on field exercises/deployments etc. They are more tactical as they don’t shine in the sun, safer than metal ones, and not a big loss is it gets misplaced or broke

DecayingOrbit · 13/03/2019 19:48

I never wear a ring, been married 32 years

FudgeBrownie2019 · 13/03/2019 19:48

Mine are on and off frequently, and I tend to only wear my wedding ring every day.

MIL once told DH he ought to take back my engagement ring and sell it since I was so ungrateful and refusing to wear it with the wedding ring. I'd be alright if we did sell it, to be honest, as I love my wedding band and it's perfect by itself.

FlirtyRomanticToast · 13/03/2019 19:49

Almost never. I do really like my rings and I wear them sometimes but generally I don't like the feeling of wearing rings. As for DH, he recently tried his on - it nowhere near fit him 😄

Ffsnosexallowed · 13/03/2019 19:49

I haven't taken my engagement ring off since I got it 25 years ago. No wedding ring.

maddiemookins16mum · 13/03/2019 19:50

Wedding ring and engagement ring go on when I’m getting dressed for work and come off when I’m getting ready for bed. I never wear them in bed since ‘the night of the scratched face incident’.

Yellowcar2 · 13/03/2019 19:50

I don't wear mine as they irritate my skin. DH wears his on a chain as he has a manual job and plays lots of sports. Neither of us are bothered or anybody else for that matter. Now wishing we didn't spend so much money in them.

BarbedBloom · 13/03/2019 19:50

Yes, we both do. I take them off if I am making bread or something similar, but put them back on after

redwinegaga · 13/03/2019 19:51

I don't wear mine......I don't even know where my wedding ring is Blush
At the risk of sounding like a nob, I don't like them anymore! I want something bigger and sparkly-er! Never going happen though Grin
H wears his all time despite saying he was never going to .

FascinatingCarrot · 13/03/2019 19:52

Wear minr all the time (work in an office too) but took it off for a couple of days when I got some sort of reaction under it. Dh prides himself on having never taking it off for anything in 7 years. I love that.

OddBoots · 13/03/2019 19:53

Just my wedding ring, I work in early years so it is very hands on and I don't want to scratch any children or damage my rings.
