To ask if you wear your rings or not?

Just curious. Mine come on and off all the time. I don't wear them at work as I have a physical job and there's too much of a danger of having them catch in something and losing a finger. (Seriously)
Sometimes it depends what I'm wearing and whether the rest of the jewellery that I have on matches them or not.

DH never takes his wedding ring off, but he's not bothered about whether I wear mine or not. I wouldn't be bothered if he didn't wear his either, however my not wearing mine all the time seems to get MIL very riled. So naturally I rarely wear them around her just because I know it pisses her off ;)

She used always give out about BIL's ex wife not wearing hers all the time and 'no wonder they split up'. They split up because BIL was shagging someone else, but as far as MIL is concerned, he can do no wrong. He never wore his either, but 'it's different for men' Hmm

I don't wear a wedding ring, been married for 22 years. Nothing to do with work. The only jewellery I wear is a watch.
DH never takes his wedding ring off.

peachgreen · 13/03/2019 19:54

Yes, I only take it off to put on my moisturiser / make-up and to stick it in the ring cleaner every so often. DH never takes his off, he's got weirdly sentimental about it!

happymummy12345 · 13/03/2019 19:54

I never take mine off. I wear a lot of jewellery, the only bits I take off a a few bits I can't sleep in. I'm not me or not dressed without all my gold on.
Dh wears his wedding ring all the time. He has to take the rest off for work.

PinkHeart5914 · 13/03/2019 19:54

Wear mine all the time, my engagement, wedding and eternity ring haven’t come off for years.

This stuff is for wearing and enjoying not for sitting in a box

SteelRiver · 13/03/2019 19:55

I don't like to wear jewellery round the house, other than a pair of studs to keep the holes in my ears from closing up. I wear my engagement and wedding rings whenever I go out of the house.

Sexnotgender · 13/03/2019 19:57

I wear mine all the time, was delighted my fingers didn’t swell when pregnant so I didn’t have to take them off.
DH also wears his all the time but it’s not his actual wedding ring as that’s wooden and would probably get trashed day to day. We bought a cheap replacement when we were on our honeymoon and he wears that.

chesterfuckingdraws · 13/03/2019 19:57

Rarely. I don't wear them for work as they're too nice to get damaged and there's a high chance of that happenings, I always forget to put them on on days off.
DH never takes his off-ever.

Bambamber · 13/03/2019 19:57

I rarely wear mine. Certainly don't wear it at work due to the nature of the job, then when at home I'm always taking it off to do baking or painting or similar with the toddler. I also get eczema between my fingers that isn't helped with jewellery. I only really put them on if I'm going out somewhere and actually remember

bourbonbiccy · 13/03/2019 19:57

I can't remember the last time I haven't had them on my finger.
I love my rings, my husband designed them and had the made and they are beautiful. I feel naked without them.

CherryPavlova · 13/03/2019 19:57

I wear my wedding ring and eternity ring at all times. I rarely take them off. The last time was when I had a very swollen arm from multiple DVTS during chemo. Then I put them on a chain which I wore all the time.

crispsahoy · 13/03/2019 19:57

I can't get my engagement ring off and so my wedding ring doesn't come off either. If I could get them off I wouldn't.
I also wear a ring on my right hand that I don't take off, I can if I want too.

DH also doesn't take his off even though he had a physical job

Bambamber · 13/03/2019 19:58

Oh and my husband rarely wears his, although he got a leather necklace so often wears it around his neck

NoParticularPattern · 13/03/2019 19:58

I wear my wedding ring all the time. I put my angagement ring on when we go out or special occasions etc. Similar to how I only really wear earrings at those times. I don’t like sleeping with it on as I sleep on my hand and it pokes me in the face. I don’t want to lose a stone from it so it’s best off in its box on the dressing table. Only time I’ve taken my wedding ring off is when heavily pregnant or for an MRI

NoParticularPattern · 13/03/2019 19:59

My husband has only really worn his on or wedding day. He’s a farmer though so really not worth the risk. Not sure why we bothered really! I’ll probably co-opt it one day and have it made into something fancy!

Oysterbabe · 13/03/2019 19:59

We both wear ours all the time.

ShottaSheriff · 13/03/2019 20:00

I take mine off when I’m in for the evening, I can’t fully relax with them on! I do mostly wear them during the day, but always make sure I have them on before leaving the house. I could never leave them on all day every day, the thought of it grosses me out for some reason!

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 13/03/2019 20:03

Mine only come off on the (very) rare occasion that I make anything involving rubbing fat into flour.

FrangipaniBlue · 13/03/2019 20:04

I used to wear mine all the time except in bed and at the gym, but currently working on a contract where I can't wear jewellery so only been wearing them at weekends if I'm leaving the house.

DH wore his wedding ring on the day of our wedding 14yrs ago and hasn't since, so at Christmas he had it melted down and some stones added to make a new ring for me Grin

RMogs · 13/03/2019 20:05

DH hasn't worn his in almost 3 years since our then puppy got hold of it and turned it into a figure 8 rather than ring shaped, and it's so far into a decent jewelers he hasn't had it mended.

I used to wear mine all the time, except when eczema flared up, however now probably off more than on as I'm scared to catch ds with my engagement ring (and I take them off to wash up/bath ds/shower and forget to put them back on)

HoHoHolyCow · 13/03/2019 20:07

I wear them when I'm out (unless going running or swimming), but I take them off as soon as I get in when I wash my hands (it's always the first thing I do when I get in regardless of what I've been doing!).

I feel a bit naked if I go out without them on, but can't bear to have them on when I'm in the house.

I don't know how often DH wears his. I never really check!

We're very happily married and I don't think either of us (or our parents) give it a second thought.

EnglishRose13 · 13/03/2019 20:09

I don't wear mine anymore as they're too big.

My husband never wore his.

Rainbowsandsnowdrops · 13/03/2019 20:10

Since being on maternity leave- almost never. But when I was at work I used to wear it and just take it off at home. Would never wear at night. Find jewellery uncomfortable but my rings are beautiful- need to make more effort to wear them!

I think it’s a generational thing. Most young married people I know don’t wear them all the time.

Sarcelle · 13/03/2019 20:13

DH wears a wedding ring. Only takes it off when he is at home.

I never wear my wedding ring or engagement one. I never wanted an engagement ring but he wanted to buy me one. We went together. I chose the smallest diamond. Went for a very plain white gold wedding ring. Wore it during the ceremony and for honeymoon but have probably worn it 10 times since then. We have been married 17 years. He knew I wouldn't wear them. I don't like rings, that's the only reason.

MrsWillGardner · 13/03/2019 20:15

Both of us all the time. Mine haven’t been off my finger since the day we were married and I’ve added an eternity ring to them so there’s 3 rings on one finger now. Husband never takes his off either.

Bomato · 13/03/2019 20:17

Have never taken mine of since my wedding.
