If you could only ever have one which would it be? I’m going for baby carrots. Disclaimer I’m not vegan or vegetarian, I just love veg

Aubergine. So many ways to cook it

Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 02:46

Cabbage!

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 04/03/2019 02:47

Do you soak it first?

OP posts:
Justagirlwholovesaboy · 04/03/2019 02:48

Cabbage is in my top ten!

Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 02:49

Cabbage with a roast and lots of gravy
Cabbage in a risotto with bacon
Cabbage and mash made into potato cakes
Cabbage served with bangers n mash
Cabbage 🤪

Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 02:51

I generally steam it.
Big fan of sprouts and spring greens too, think that’s allowed, it’s all cabbage!

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 04/03/2019 02:52

@Lovingbenidorm can I please come to your house for cabbage 😂

Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 02:53

Trying I’m suspicious of a vegetable that you have to cover in salt for 1/2 hour before you can cook it🤨

Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 02:54

Yes indeed Just
I will be serving
CABBAGE

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 04/03/2019 02:56

I’m so turning up on your doorstep expecting this for breakfast tomorrow!

OP posts:
Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 03:01

Ooooh 🧐 not sure we can cabbage at breakfast
There are standards you know
Time and place etc
My cat refuses to eat beef Felix in the morning
I don’t blame her, she’s not an animal

LostPlatypus · 04/03/2019 03:01

Do potatoes count? I love other veg but I'd miss the carbs too much. That and some of my favourite dishes have potato in so I'd be a bit screwed (that and chippy chips are just too big to lose).

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 04/03/2019 03:06

@Lovingbenidorm now you are being snobbish, surely you can turn the humble potatoe into a breakfast treat???

OP posts:
Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 03:07

Yes potatoes count!
They are indeed a vegetable and therefore can be your choice
(A potato always tastes better with a touch of cabbage 😉)

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 04/03/2019 03:09

Looking forward to a potato and cabage recipe. 😂

Unpopular opinion is coming... broccoli.

Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 03:10

Ok
I’m doing skillet eggs with cabbage hash ......mmmmm

Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 03:11

Broccoli 🤔

Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 03:12

I’m ok with tenderstem but not so sure about the big lumpy ones

dreichuplands · 04/03/2019 03:12

You can make bubble and squeak with larger cabbages than Brussels. A fine potato and cabbage dish, also great for breakfast with a fried egg.

siestakey · 04/03/2019 03:12

Broccoli. (Fresh not frozen!)

dreichuplands · 04/03/2019 03:13

I think tomatoes are the most versatile veg ( unless they count as a fruit?)

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 04/03/2019 03:16

Oh god tomatoes are a fruit and you are evil for bringing this up

OP posts:
Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 03:16

I really have to go now but just wanted to throw this one in there
If you could only eat food or drink beginning with one letter what letter would it be?
(There is a best answer)
Disclaimer, you are allowed brand names
I look forward to your answers 😁

Lovingbenidorm · 04/03/2019 03:17

Oh my goodness!
Tomatoes !?
You should be ashamed?!
