To think everyone saying Shamima Begum should rot in Syria have completely overlooked the fact that she is pregnant

Just that really. She did a terrible thing going to Syria to marry an ISIS fighter. But she was only 15 and probably incredibly naive. She has already lost two children, one as a complication of malnutrition. And the child she is pregnant with has done nothing wrong. Surely we shouldn't leave him or her there to die too?

‘Her dead children are just as much a victim of IS’

How the fuck can you compare? I would not wish death on any child and it must of been heartbreaking and something I couldn’t even imagine. But they died because their parents are terrorists. They are to blame!

She might as well of taken them into a lion enclosure at a zoo. It’s abhorrent that you can compare them to the lives lost at the concert.

Pinkginxx · 14/02/2019 15:16

Or she was a vulnerable and grieving child who was groomed and brainwashed alongside 2 other children (both of who are now dead). She still a teenager, and like it or not a British citizen. If this was any other case of a vulnerable 15 year old being groomed online would we be blaming the child???

Lollypop27 · 14/02/2019 15:22

Of course I wouldn’t blame the child but she’s not a child anymore. She still supports them! She has seen how horrific it is and if she was apologising for the decisions she made I may feel different but she’s not.

She was 15! Yes in the eyes of the law she was still a child but we aren’t talking a young child. I have teenagers and I can honestly say hand on heart they would not support the killings of others.

ineedtostopgooglingsymptoms · 14/02/2019 15:25

I don’t want her unborn child to die Sad

However, I would want her to have the baby, the baby be fostered out and she be investigated and face the legal consequences of her actions. Due to her lack of remorse I would say she was a risk to her child and society but I’d leave that to the professionals to decide.

I can’t see her coming back and agreeing to those terms though

goldengummybear · 14/02/2019 15:29

She should have been stripped of British nationality when she left for Syria.

I feel sorry for her child but not for her. She is a direct threat to people in the UK and shouldn't be allowed back - especially as she hasn't learned anything by leaving. Human life is fragile and special and it takes a special kind of cruel to not care about severed heads in a dustbin.

Pinkginxx · 14/02/2019 15:30

But your children have you to hide them. This girl had just lost her mother. She's also unlikely to say on TV 'I made a mistake they're evil bastards' whilst still in Syria. Equally she could still think what she did was right due to subsequent trauma and brainwashing.
I don't know, I'm playing devils advocate a bit I suppose, but I don't think it's clear cut. For me the blame lies with the people who groomed/radicalised her in the first place, who clearly targeted a lost and grieving young girl

SilverySurfer · 14/02/2019 15:30

I don'y care if she is pregnant, I don't think she should be allowed to return to the UK just so she can use the free healthcare. I haven't read anything saying she regrets or condemns the actions of ISIS. Let her stay where she is.

Pinkginxx · 14/02/2019 15:31

*guide not hide

Juells · 14/02/2019 15:33

her seeming lack of remorse may be due to mental illness given the things that have happened to her.

Or she may be incapable of feeling anything for anyone else, which would explain why she thought it was a great idea to go out there in the first place and join in the fun beheadings. Psychopathic would be how I'd view her.

If this was any other case of a vulnerable 15 year old being groomed online would we be blaming the child???

Beheadings. Burning people alive with flame throwers. Anyone who sees those things online and thinks "that's a movement I want to be part of!" is not a vulnerable person, they are a danger to everyone else.

paintinmyhairAgain · 14/02/2019 15:37

couldn't care less about her she can rot in syria, i feel sorry for the lo born into this shit.

Aeroflotgirl · 14/02/2019 15:40

No she should stay where she is, she is a traitor, and made that decision to go.

TheInnerVoice · 14/02/2019 15:42

Everyone who has brainwashed someone has themselves been brainwashed at some point. So you can’t have it both ways. Either all isis fighters/wives are brainwashed victims or they’re all terrorists, there isn’t a sliding scale.

I don’t believe that she has fled isis to get better healthcare for her baby. I believe that it’s all been orchestrated this way. She and the husband leave, he “surrenders” to the isis fighters which makes it look as if he has been taken captive but in truth he is probably back there fighting. Meanwhile she goes into a refugee camp and does an interview with the times (how did that come about do we know?) where she talks about having no regrets, how the place is normal life and the propaganda video’s are correct. That’s radical talk right there, designed to turn the head of anyone who might be disilusioned with life in Britain and be open to radicalisation. And then, because she’s just about to give birth (coincidence? I think not,) she wants to come over here to ensure that the child is healthy so she can bring it up in the name of isis and to radicalise more people at the same time.

And someone who brings up their children to die in the name of their cause has no value for life, not even their own. Even losing two children in Syria wasn’t enough to make her disilusioned, assuming there actually were children which IMO is questionable.

CripsSandwiches · 14/02/2019 15:45

What an ignorant post! It's not any child's fault if their parents' are terrorist.

allthingsred · 14/02/2019 15:46

Not forgetting.
Baby should be took off her at birth & adopted out of the family. Then records sealed so they never know where they baby is.
That child has a chance away from them all.

Battytwatty · 14/02/2019 15:48

How do we know she’s telling the truth about her other two children? Could be made up to garner some sympathy.
I say Leave her there.

Juells · 14/02/2019 15:50

What an ignorant post! It's not any child's fault if their parents' are terrorist.

🙄 It's fairly obvious the poster meant the parents are to blame for the children's deaths.

teaandgingercake · 14/02/2019 15:58

What an ignorant post! It's not any child's fault if their parents' are terrorist.

The poster said how the fuck can you compare, to the parents of the victims from the Arianni Grande concert, losing their children to the terrorist mother who lost hers, and you say she’s ignorant? Words fail me.

BubblesBuddy · 14/02/2019 16:11

It was the fault of the Rotherham girls, according to the police and others at the time, and now it’s this girl’s fault. She was undoubtedly groomed. It’s unbelievable posters don’t recognise grooming all these years down the line! Men promised her a better life! It was enticing. She was taken in by it as the Rotherham girl’s were. Of course it’s naive and stupid and illegal. But that doesn’t mean her baby shouldn’t be helped. It is worrying that posters don’t seem to care about a baby.

The baby should be taken care of and fostered and she should face the law here if she can get back. The Government isn’t about to bring anyone back from Syria. She has no consular support. However much people hate the mother, a baby hasn’t done anything. However she’s unlikely to be here any time soon.

pepperpot99 · 14/02/2019 16:15

The government isn't going to help her. She can't fly at 9 months pg. She won't have a passport because IS always destroyed passports of new recruits to 'strengthen their allegiance to the caliphate " (and more importantly prevent them from fleeing ).

Her name and face are known now. She took a gamble and it failed. How come she suddenly cares about the baby? She let two others die didn't she? Her motivation for returning is to further the jihadi call to arms IMO. She can stay in Syria and accept what Allah sends her way. He knows best, after all, according to her.

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 14/02/2019 16:20

She let two others die didn't she?
Come on, I think that's a bit harsh.

BarbarianMum · 14/02/2019 16:30

She may not have let them die but she actively sought out living conditions where their deaths were highly likely. In truth Syria is full of dead and dying babies and children. In large part due to the actions of IS - a group she actively supports.

And no she wasnt offered a "better" life. She was offered the chance to become part of a fundamentalist religious caliphate based on the oppression of others. Thats what she bought into and she knew it.

PinkiOcelot · 14/02/2019 16:32

She gave up all rights to British citizenship when she fucked off to support ISIS! She should not be allowed to set foot on British soil EVER again.
Why should she come back here? Even if she was put in prison, why should tax payers money pay for that?!

BubblesBuddy · 14/02/2019 16:36

Because we are a civilised nation? Except that listening to radio 5 and reading posts here we obviously don’t care about dead babies. How do posters know she wasn’t raped? It is grooming!

alwaysreadthelabel · 14/02/2019 16:41

The foreign office have said she can come home if she presents at a consulate in Iraq or Turkey. So if she really wants to come back legally she can.

I have fuck all sympathy for her. The unborn child I feel enormous sympathy for. As others have said if she were to come back her child should be taken off her and she should be imprisoned while made to under go some heavy duty therapy. And then be on a watch list for life.

Pk37 · 14/02/2019 16:42

She wants to come back because she wants health care not because she is sorry or full of regret.
She can fuck off
