How much exercise do you do per week?

How much exercise do you do throughout an average week? I feel like I’ve been so lazy recently and want to get back into it so looking for a bit of inspiration. Also interested in seeing if there are many others who pretty much do nothing like me. Thanks

I try to do 4-5hrs,mix of HIIT class, running, spin, weights. ExDH and I share DD 50/50 so there are days when I can't do anything. I'd love to do more.

Daffodil2018 · 06/02/2019 14:17

Currently I do nothing as I have a newborn.

Before getting pregnant I did the Davina 15 minute workout DVD three times a week and was in amazing shape! I’m looking forward to getting back into it when I’m up to it.

theredjellybean · 06/02/2019 14:17

I run about 10km twice a week and about 6km fast run once a week.
Walk dogs five days a week.. Can be brisk, can be dawdle depending on weather. I don't count that as exercise.
I do two core muscles sessions and one yoga session as well.

dudsville · 06/02/2019 14:17

None. I'm just participating to balance out the thread.

OurChristmasMiracle · 06/02/2019 14:18

I walk 4 miles home 5 times a week and go gym 5 times a week. (4 work nights one weekend day) so around 15hours Blush

Sirzy · 06/02/2019 14:20

Duckshead · 06/02/2019 14:20

MaMisled · 06/02/2019 14:24

I do a gentle 40 min jog with dogs 5 mornings and 9 hour long slow ambles a week. I do 3 x 30 min power walks a week plus 5 x 20 min aerobic/ dance sessions. Determined to maintain weight a good weight loss!

Sciurus83 · 06/02/2019 14:27

I'm here with dudsville

Barely any, a yoga class a week if I'm lucky. Walk a few miles once or twice a week. I have an 11week old baby, but I wasnt doing much more before that

tinydancer88 · 06/02/2019 14:28

Bugger all at the moment!

I was my happiest and fittest doing 2 runs, a weight class and a yoga class each week, maybe a swim or a spin class if I could manage.

Seniorschoolmum · 06/02/2019 14:29

Run 5-6k twice a week plus 1hr karate

Plus normal single mum running around

JustGettingStarted · 06/02/2019 14:30

I go to the gym 6 days a week. Sometimes I lift weights on 3 days for an hour and do 30 minutes cardio on the other 3 days. Sometimes I only do weights, 6 days a week. (I don't do cardio when I'm losing weight because it makes me crave carbs.)

Jeezoh · 06/02/2019 14:31

An exercise video (20 mins) 3 times a week and I run 3 times a week (only 30 mins per run). I haven’t the time for more and the short bursts fit in well with my other commitments.

hippospot · 06/02/2019 14:31

I swim twice a week for 40 mins each time.

Other than that, I walk everywhere and cycle short distances to get around. The fitbit tells me I average about 450 active minutes a week! Apart from the swimming the rest doesn't feel like exertion but I suppose it has value.

feelingverylazytoday · 06/02/2019 14:32

1 hours swimming (about 80 lengths) on school days. Walk a minimum of 5 miles a day. I'm supposed to do things indoors (like squats and weights) on days I can't go swimming, but I've got out of the habit.

OdeToDiazepam · 06/02/2019 14:33

Minimum if 2 runs a week, either a10k andna 5k/speed training or a longer run like today which was 8 miles, when it's warmer I do 1-2 YouTube workouts with weights too

monty09 · 06/02/2019 14:34

I started back at the gym last week, I went in the gym twice and did one class, I played dance central on the Xbox when I can't make it and I've just started the couch to 5k as I really want to start running. I've done 3 classes so far this week and I also walk everywhere.

AGHHHH · 06/02/2019 14:34

I run to the fridge and back multiple times a day. Confused

Lozz22 · 06/02/2019 14:35

No where near as much as I would like to. I work 15 hour shifts and the days I'm off I'm usually too tired to even think about dragging myself down to the gym. However I'm on sick for 2 weeks with stress so I'm making on whilst I can and doing lots of spinning and body pump classes. It's also making me feel less guilty to the fact I seem to have a huge obsession with McDonald's at the moment

frenchknitting · 06/02/2019 14:41

Not enough! I do a 30min HIIT or spin class 3 days per week.

I spend 8 houus sitting at a desk and 2 hours in the car 4 days per week so I feel this is nowhere near enough.

Planning to add a few runs in, and hopefully a swim at some point. I'm trying to build it up gradually so I stick to it.

GypsyRoseTea · 06/02/2019 14:43

2 x spin and 2 x kettlebells

CMOTDibbler · 06/02/2019 14:44

I swim 1.5 km three times a week (if I'm lucky and have more time, one will be 3km or more), run 5-10km three times, and walk 3km 3-5 times. When its warmer, 20 miles or so of cycling once or twice.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 06/02/2019 14:44

Run three times a week, and do pilates once a week.

ATailofTwoKitties · 06/02/2019 14:46

I have a bit of a jog a few times a week if a friend is up for it. Maybe a weekend swim. Otherwise, dog and gardening, that's about it.

Cobblersandhogwash · 06/02/2019 14:47

Walk dogs 50 mins every day.

Hot yoga 2 x per week

Karate 2 x per week

Krav Maga once per week

Think I will introduce some swimming too.
