If you had to choose would you prefer a Corbyn Government/soft or no Brexit or a Hard Brexit with Tories staying in power?

If the choice was between a hard Brexit (but the Tories staying in power) or soft/no Brexit and the Tory vote collapsing and Corbyn getting into power, which do you think would be more damaging to the UK and to you on a personal level?

I've voted Labour all my life and the thought of Corbyn and Bromentum in power scares the living shit out of me.

Calvinsmam · 28/01/2019 12:22

Labour aren’t offering a no brexit/soft Brett option are they?

womanhuman · 28/01/2019 12:23

Corbyn gov scares the shit out of me but at least it would be temporary. Brexit’s forever.

Strugglingtodomybest · 28/01/2019 12:24

Definitely Labour in charge.

AutumnCrow · 28/01/2019 12:27

No Brexit and Labour. Corbyn's days are numbered - especially now the Labour party (and notably its you get members) and Labour voters have woken up to what a minnow he is compared to Yvette Copper and Sir Keir Starmer.

What I suspect we'll get is not that.

AutumnCrow · 28/01/2019 12:29

LakieLady · 28/01/2019 12:31

Not a choice we'll get, imo, but I'd go for Corbyn and no Brexit.

littlepeas · 28/01/2019 12:34

I am a remainer, but I would rather Brexit than Corbyn. My dh thinks we may end up with a hard Brexit AND Corbyn - that would be an utter disaster. I would choose a Labour government with a different leader and no Brexit Grin.

mothertruck3r · 28/01/2019 12:37

The reason I ask is that some institutions think that a Corbyn Government would actually be more destructive for the UK than Brexit (although of course Corbyn is not offering a no/soft Brexit as far as I am aware, but it is quite likely he would get into power if the Tory vote were to collapse).

This article is from 2017 but I doubt they have changed their mind;

I loathe Corbyn and I’m pretty sure that a Labour government would be bad for us personally
However, I feel it absolutely guaranteed no Brexit (not possible as Corbyn is pro Brexit and even if he said we wouid Remain I wouldn’t trust him) I would vote Labour

Most people would probably be worse off under either but on balance the labour soft/no Brexit is better, although I agree with other posters that it's moot as that doesn't appear to be an option.

MadisonMontgomery · 28/01/2019 12:43

The thought of Corbyn in power terrifies me. And I don’t think people who would vote for him would necessarily get the Brexit/lack of that they want!

lubeybooby · 28/01/2019 12:49

No brexit, but not a Corbyn goverment. I want to like him but he seems irreparably damaged by the press bias and skewing and so feel there's no point in him even trying, sadly.

DarlingNikita · 28/01/2019 12:49

Well, I wanted to remain, so the softer the Brexit the better as far as I'm concerned. But Labour aren’t offering a no brexit/soft Brett option are they? This. It's a moot point.

I loathe Corbyn and Momentum but IF a) he was able to win a GE and b) he put in place the softest Brexit, that'd be my least bad outcome.

Stringofpearls · 28/01/2019 12:51

Gettin no Brexit would be the most important to me. We can change parties in just a few years but the ramifications of Brexit will be worse and longer lasting.

I'm a remainer who would never vote for Corbyn, so I can't answer your question. Corbyn has always been in favour of Brexit, so I doubt he'd be the softer option. I'm more terrified of Corbyn than I am of Brexit, and that's saying something. I was a previous Labour voter before Corbyn & Momentum. Now, I would vote tactically to keep Corbyn out.

GoldenSyrupLion · 28/01/2019 13:00

Corbyn and no/soft Brexit. We could vote him out in a few years but Brexit is permanent.

Rainbunny · 28/01/2019 13:10

I hate what the tories have done in power and I also hate Corbyn/momentum. I would like a second referendum or failing that a soft Brexit or even May's plan over a hard brexit.

I actually think Corbyn winning a GE wouldn't be as bad as we might fear. He's got such batshit ideas and is so very incompetent that he wouldn't last a term in government, there would be a no confidence vote the first time he tries to do something extreme (hand over the Falklands, hand over Gibraltar, refuse to support NATO, nationalise god knows what although the trains might be okay to nationalise...)

SeaWitchly · 28/01/2019 13:14

Corbyn and soft Brexit definitely.

BlooperReel · 28/01/2019 13:16

Soft brexit, but I loathe labours 'men can become women' bullshit, so would hope it was a short lived stint in power

Seniorcitizen1 · 28/01/2019 13:17

Always a Labour government for me

Pixiedustaway · 28/01/2019 13:30

Oooh Corbyn government scares the pants off
Me.... I would rather brexit..

Somerville · 28/01/2019 13:32

Hard Brexit will be disastrous. I'm no Corbyn fan but I'd far rather have no Brexit or a soft Brexit and Corbyn heading a Labour government.
