Absolutely Raging at DSis

DroningOn · 23/12/2018 10:45

DSis and her DH were at a wedding yesterday, we had their DD1 and DS3 overnight. We've got a panto today at 1:30 for me, DH and our 2 kids.

DSis knows of our plans and has just text to say that both her and DH had too much to drink last night and can't drive until at least mid afternoon. They're 90 mins away so that's today's plans fucked up. Obvs not an AIBU but I am incandescent with rage at the moment.

AAAARGH! Angry

That's so unfair! Can anyone else drop her kids off at home?

CosmicCanary · 23/12/2018 10:47

Drive their children to them. Drop them off then go to your panto. Its only 90 mins hopefully you have time.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 23/12/2018 10:47

They've got a huge cheek. Really not on. As you say you're not BU & I'd be furious too.

Dragonbait · 23/12/2018 10:48

That is shocking! Is there anyone else you can leave their kids with?

WhatsUpHun · 23/12/2018 10:48

Tell them to get a taxi over

Hanab · 23/12/2018 10:48

Maybe I am being unreasonable here but tell them to get into a taxi and get their kids! No p..s taking get their kids like they were suppose to so you guys can enjoy your family time

ShockedHorrored · 23/12/2018 10:48

How old are they? Old enough to put in a taxi which of course they will have to pay for at the other end? I know this unrealistic but wouldn’t it be good

SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 · 23/12/2018 10:49

Drive their children to them now!!! Don't miss the panto!!

Kolo · 23/12/2018 10:49

Then they need to get a taxi? Or friend/family to drive them? I’d be furious too.

constantlyseekinghappiness · 23/12/2018 10:49

I agree! Taxi or other public transport.

Out of order!

DroningOn · 23/12/2018 10:49

Our kids are 8 and 11 and I foolishly didn't ask for their car seats when they dropped the kids off as "you'll be back early and we'll have no need for them"

OP posts:
Molakai · 23/12/2018 10:49

That's outrageous! Do you live near your sis?

Could they find someone local that you could take her DC to?

What a pair of selfish knobs

WorraLiberty · 23/12/2018 10:49

Drive their children to them. Drop them off then go to your panto. Its only 90 mins hopefully you have time.

You're assuming the OP has a car though.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 23/12/2018 10:49

YANBU, obviously. Has she made any effort to fix this e.g. arrange for someone else to come and collect them? Do you have any other family members who could take them?

ChodeofChodeHall · 23/12/2018 10:50

People telling the OP to make a 3-hr round trip and be back in time for her 1:30 pantomime: back to school with you.

BottleOfJameson · 23/12/2018 10:50

NO bloody way. I'd pay for a last minute babysitter and charge your sister for it.

CuriousMama · 23/12/2018 10:51

Shock Shocking selfish behaviour.

Your poor dcs.

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 23/12/2018 10:51

So you have two choices.

  1. Drive them home and both parents see the panto
  2. One parent misses the panto to stay home and look after sisters children.

Your sister is a dick though, I'd be furious

Pinkyponkcustard · 23/12/2018 10:51

Ooh that is bad. Oh well no more babysitting for you!

Violetroselily · 23/12/2018 10:51

Selfish fuckers

Are there any family members nearby that could look after her kids at your house whilst you're out?

Jackshouse · 23/12/2018 10:52

Tell them that one of them needs to get a taxi over to your house and they can stay there with there kids until the other parent can drive over to collect them all. Leave them a spare key and go out for lunch before the panto without them.

I would be seriously considered if I would be babybaitting for them again.

Bottomplasters · 23/12/2018 10:53

Send the two kids to the panto and go to bed with hubby. Pantos are rubbish!!

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 23/12/2018 10:53

Sorry thought the text came at 9.45! no way you can drive them back then.

What a fucker

CaptainBrickbeard · 23/12/2018 10:53

I’m so angry on your behalf!

CosmicCanary · 23/12/2018 10:53

If there is no way to get their children to them or find another sitter then i would be demanding the full price of the panto tickets back.
You will be able to book again as most run until Jan.
Sorry they have put you in this postition.
