Posting for traffic!
Stupid husband has arranged for us to go to MIL for the pressie run on the 22nd-23rd, last minute. I've had my shopping booked for the 22nd for weeks but have now had to cancel. Desperately trying to find another slot but no one has anything in the on the 23rd or 24th.
Ive tried;
Tesco
Asda
Morrisons
Waitrose

Quick! Where am I missing? I really really really don't want to do a whole food shop in person on Christmas Eve!! Sad

M&S

newcupcake · 15/12/2018 08:02

Ocado

HoneyBumpkin · 15/12/2018 08:03

Get DH to sort it as it's his mistake?

Helplessfeeling · 15/12/2018 08:04

Could you make him do the shopping instead? After all he has mucked up your arrangements, let him sort it out!

ChocolateTearDrops · 15/12/2018 08:05

So when you told him it clashed with the shopping delivery, what did he say? Hmm

courgettetrees · 15/12/2018 08:05

Get them to leave it outside your door

AskMeHow · 15/12/2018 08:06

Make DH do the shopping.

Oysterbabe · 15/12/2018 08:07

Cancelling was madness. I'd have made him go alone.

Walkacrossthesand · 15/12/2018 08:07

Looks like he'll have to do present run on his own this year?

Secretisout · 15/12/2018 08:07

Ocado still have delivery if you spend over £90 and pay £10 for delivery 😔

ABCagain · 15/12/2018 08:07

Ocado have up until Xmas Eve but it’ll cost you a Tenner, I managed to a free delivery code for a year but can’t remember how!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 15/12/2018 08:07

What? Why did you cancel before finding a replacement slot?! Why did you cancel at all? His mistake, he needs to tell mil you can't make it.

Sainsbury's, btw.

OrdinarySnowflake · 15/12/2018 08:07

Have you cancelled the order yet? Surely it's easier to rearrange MIL or not both go, or just go for 1 day....

Fairylightfurore · 15/12/2018 08:08

If you haven't already cancelled don't and send your DH on the present run alone, or get a friend to house sit.

BobDobbs · 15/12/2018 08:10

Can you change it to a click and collect order? Then pick it up on your way home.

ernjas · 15/12/2018 08:10

Surely it'd have been easier not to cancel and make DH go on his own or rearrange with MIL or get someone to come over and be there for the shopping? Don't think you'll find a replacement slot 10 days before Christmas.

Ethel36 · 15/12/2018 08:11

I would have never given up my Christmas shopping slot for a visit to the MIL! I doubt you would get a slot now. How about you get a slot for this week and freeze the meat and store away the booze, and junk food. Your husband can pop to the shop nearer to Christmas to get the fresh stuff you ll need.

olderthanyouthink · 15/12/2018 08:12

Cancel the cheque?

paintinmyhairAgain · 15/12/2018 08:12

can't dh do the present run if he drives /is able to, what's the big deal about going on his own ?

cushioncovers · 15/12/2018 08:13

Can u do click and collect? So it's all picked and packed for you. All you have to do is go to a collection point and put it in the back of your car.

Iloveacurry · 15/12/2018 08:14

Don’t go to the MILs?

ABCagain · 15/12/2018 08:15

Sainsbury’s 21st December delivery in the Evening £1.

tryinganewname · 15/12/2018 08:16

Why would you cancel it? You should have just told him that you couldn't do it or he would have to go alone Hmm our shopping is booked for the 23rd for collection at 11 locally, MIL booked a meal an hour's drive away at 12 so we've told her we'll go but we'll be late and there's nothing to be done about it.

outreach29 · 15/12/2018 08:18

Go to the shops - do some food shopping. It won't kill you and might make you stronger Xmas Smile

Not a major disaster unless you were having 17 people for Christmas dinner

EvangelineTheStarOnTheTree · 15/12/2018 08:19

For various reasons (too boring to go into), I have to go with him this year. Last year I sent him on his own with the kids but that's not an option this year. He can't shop himself as he has ASC and would struggle with the crowds etc.
Thanks for the Sainsbury's tip. I'll try them (I'm boycotting Ocado still)
