AIBU to feel a bit shit for TM?

Imagine achieving your life dream of becoming PM, being left to organise a shitstorm and then a load of your staff telling you you’re shit at organising shit and you get voted out.
I don’t think anyone who was brought in to lead brexit following Cameron’s hash up would have done a decent job and yet all TM will be known for is failing to manage brexit!

She didn't want to call an election. But in the end had no choice. Whatever she tried to do that toad faced weasel kept blocking her - stating she can't do it as she has no mandate!

To state TM is so big headed that she called an election because she thought she'd get a large majority simply is not true!

She certainly didn't call an election expecting to lose her majority! Before we had fixed term parliaments that was always the gamble, at what stage did the PM decide to go to the country? Gordon Brown would probably have won a majority if he had called a GE when he took over the Premiership - it's forgotten now, but there was the 'Brown bounce'. He dithered and lost. Not the first PM to do that either. May would almost certainly have won a decent majority if she had called one shortly after taking over. I think she believed the polls - 100 seat majorities were predicted, so it was too good an opportunity, she thought.

David Cameron should have stayed as PM to clear up the mess he created.

Whilst thinking Theresa May has handled this badly, probably all of the other 2016 Tory leadership candidates save perhaps Michael Gove (rudest man in politics) would have done much worse.

JC pushed for a GE because HE thought he would win the majority. Thank God he didn't and as long as he is steering the Labour ship there will not be a Labour government. Odious little man!

Well I'm no Tory but I think Theresa May will go down in history as being a woman of strong character and determination. In her position I'd run home in tears and never be seen in public again! So I raise a glass Wine to her. She's a good woman in a shit position, no-one else in her party would do better.

I hope, when this is all over, she and her husband enjoy a long and happy retirement.

I thtink she’s shown amazing resilience, and from that perspective a good role model for girls

NotAnotherJaffaCake, not at all. We should all do it en masse, in fact, as a sort of situationist piece.
