Imagine achieving your life dream of becoming PM, being left to organise a shitstorm and then a load of your staff telling you you’re shit at organising shit and you get voted out.
I don’t think anyone who was brought in to lead brexit following Cameron’s hash up would have done a decent job and yet all TM will be known for is failing to manage brexit!

Politics aside as a fellow human I feel sorry for Teresa May! At the end of the day, she is a person like anyone else doing an impossible and so stressful job. I just don’t know how she’s managed to carry on under so much strain.

DriveAnIceCreamVan · 12/12/2018 08:18

I don't vote Tory, she should stay until April.

The lot of them in Westminster are clowns playing out a pantomime.

MrsJayy · 12/12/2018 08:19

It is all just a mess isn't it? I do feel sorry for her and the alternative is Rhys Mogg which is terrifying.

Platypusfattypus · 12/12/2018 08:20

I feel bad then I remember some of her past voting and I don’t feel so bad anymore.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2018 08:20

Bloody men
I feel loathing for all of those responsible
David bloody Cameron and the rest

CloserIAm2Fine · 12/12/2018 08:21

She chose to put herself in this situation, and her and her party have acted despicably throughout so I can’t really bring myself to feel too sorry for her!

Can’t stand her but the thought of the alternatives are even worse. Jacob Rees Mog is vile and makes my skin crawl with his extremely unchristian intolerance

StealthPolarBear · 12/12/2018 08:21

And yet that seems to have been forgotten.
I actually do admire May. I'm pretty sure no one else would have done better. That doesn't change thw fact the current situation is beyond shit.
I do have a small glimmer of hope that she is orchestrating all this so the only solution will be to cancel Brexit with overwhelming public and EU support. But I think I watch too many American box sets. We're all horrified at what she's doing but all will be revealed in the last scene and we'll all live happily ever after.

BeardedMum · 12/12/2018 08:21

I feel shit for the country!

StealthPolarBear · 12/12/2018 08:22

Yes.

StealthPolarBear · 12/12/2018 08:22

If scooby doo had been pm...

1hello2hello · 12/12/2018 08:23

The actions of her party are disgusting too, I’m not usually one to say stuff like this- but I doubt they would have treated her that way had she been a man.
^^This.
If anyone think our standing/negotiating an exit with the EU would be improved by bringing in Boris or Gove now they are totally deluded.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 12/12/2018 08:23

We'd have all had scooby snacks

Tantrumschmantrum · 12/12/2018 08:25

Totally agree OP. Again not a fan of TM but she's been used disgracefully. What's worse is you can see BJ lining himself up for the job which I can only imagine as an ego massaging exercise. Those MPs should feel ashamed of their backstabbing actions.

bellabasset · 12/12/2018 08:25

I think she is a decent person but this issue of Brexit is a difficult negotiation. It doesn't matter whether you were one of the 37% who voted leave, 35% who voted remain or 28% who didn't vote very few are happy with the situation.

Cameron has a lot to answer for

5foot5 · 12/12/2018 08:25

Another one feeling sorry for her. And quite frankly looking at the rest of the shower I can't see any of them doing a better job. She might still win the confidence vote tonight!

RangeRider · 12/12/2018 08:26

This ^^.

ZaZathecat · 12/12/2018 08:26

Funny how not one Brexiteer stood up and said 'I'll do it'. They knew it would be career suicide.

GCAcademic · 12/12/2018 08:26

Someone on one of the Brexit threads said that they thought this might have been the Leave-supporting Tories’ plan all along. Stick a Remainder in the job to deal with all the shit and negotiate the inevitable poor deal that we were always going to get. Then cry treachery, whip up outrage amongst Leavers, and dump the PM at the last minute to ensure that there is no option but No Deal.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all. The utter scum. These are people who personally stand to profit handsomely from No Deal. Not one fuck given for the country.

SillySallySingsSongs · 12/12/2018 08:27

Yes they would. The Tories are ruthless when it comes to this sort of thing and always have been.

KitKat1985 · 12/12/2018 08:29

Agree OP. I'm not a Tory or her biggest fan, but I think it's noteworthy that whilst every major Brexit campaigner seems to have fled the scene, she's stayed and tried to sort out the shit-storm left behind.

JammieCodger · 12/12/2018 08:29

There’s no way Rees Mogg would win a leadership election. The Tories might be loathsome but they’re not that stupid. He’s never even held a cabinet position and completely out of touch, even for them.

There will be plenty of other, more acceptable candidates working behind the scenes, doing deals and lining themselves up for a leadership bid though.

And as for TM, yes, I feel sorry for her as a person and agree that it’s the glass cliff in action. But she’s brought it on herself (and the country) with her ‘red lines’ that were always going to be complete blockers to an acceptable deal.

sluj · 12/12/2018 08:30

I feel sorry for her, this was the job no-one else wanted and she has got on with it. If I was her I would be tempted to sashay out of number 10 tonight , bottle of gin under one arm and two fingers in the air declaring "Do it yourself then " 😁

CrookedMe · 12/12/2018 08:31

Are you actually fucking mad?

She fought for a job she wasn't equipped to do. Her hubris won't allow her to bow out, so instead she's trying to do great harm to the nation so that she can retain her job. Would any of us do that? Fight to keep hold of a job (that we don't need because we're loaded) by doing harm to millions of people who we could choose to help instead?

Fuck off with all this 'it's because she's a woman' shite. I'm seeing it on Twitter today too and it's utter bollocks. The Tories are an absolute roaring firepit of power-hungry entitled narcissists, and if you think they wouldn't stab a man in the back you really have no memory.
