To be fed up beyond belief with the trans activists

I'm so sick of the bigotry now. Surely these people just want to have a piss in peace without being hassled?
What rights is it exactly that the trans activists are shit scared that women are going to lose out on?
I wish they'd all just be quiet and let others live their lives how they see fit without reprisal or judgement from narrow minded idiots.
I honestly feel that this debate is just a platform for the bigots to congregate to attack a minority because we all know what attaching ethnic minorities, gays, lesbians etc is just not acceptable. How is this any different?

Uh oh... don your hard hat now OP!

HollowTalk · 17/10/2018 16:43

Eh? Are you on the side of the women, who just want to go to the loo without a penis around? Or want to get changed in the swimming pool changing room without having to see a penis?

May I be the first to offer you one of these

PositivelyPERF · 17/10/2018 16:46

Erm....you what? I don’t think you know what trans activist is, OP. It might help people respect your opinion or disagree with it, if you actually knew what you were angry about! 🤔

DrunkenUnicorn · 17/10/2018 16:46

I think you need to go and do a bit more reading OP Hmm

DonkeyHotei · 17/10/2018 16:46

I agree with you. Thankfully it's only on mumsnet. The rest of the universe is more rational and less bigoted.

snapnfarter · 17/10/2018 16:47

I don't mind about seeing a penis. My eyes won't melt in their sockets if I see a willy, will they? And I don't pee communally. I use a cubicle.

PositivelyPERF · 17/10/2018 16:47

It must be so difficult being ‘woke’, when you haven’t a fucking clue what is going on. 🤣

RadicalFern · 17/10/2018 16:48

I don't think it's bigoted or narrow minded to want to retain the right to a female health care professional. I also don't think it's bigoted to be asking why children are being allowed to make decisions which will sterilise and rob then of the possibility for any sexual pleasure for life when they're too young to be allowed to decide to get a tattoo.

But whatever you like OP, perhaps we should just be quiet about that.

citiesofbismuth · 17/10/2018 16:48

The issues go way deeper than just wanting a piss in peace.

I suggest you do a bit of research.

PositivelyPERF · 17/10/2018 16:48

I agree with you. Thankfully it's only on mumsnet. The rest of the universe is more rational and less bigoted you agree that trans activists are bigots? That’s great. Welcome to GC feminism.

DonkeyHotei · 17/10/2018 16:49

The irony is that there are so very many forms of violence against women and girls that we could be concentrating on. Instead of this non-issue.

RadicalFern · 17/10/2018 16:49

Also, though YOU don't mind seeing a penis, it is a problem for some women, and a complete taboo for others. They matter too.

HerLadySheep · 17/10/2018 16:49

I'm not really sure you've got hold of the right end of the stick there?

Trans Activists are active in supporting trans rights. Are you complaining about female activists?

I and indeed the vast majority of people have no issue with trans people being supported, valued and not discriminated against on the basis of their gender.
What I do not agree is that an individual can change sex and become either male or female because they themselves believe it. That's like asking me to agree that God, Santa and the tooth fairy are real or that the earth is flat, simply because you believe it to be the case. I respect an individual's right to believe that, and my right to disagree should also be respected.

DonkeyHotei · 17/10/2018 16:49

errr...no, because I know what the OP meant.

Jakethekid · 17/10/2018 16:50

Oh for gods sake. People are complaining because the trans debate is on all the boards and should be kept in feminism and then you come along and put this in AIBU?

And I'm not on either "side". But we can't have it both ways!

Hoppinggreen · 17/10/2018 16:50

Absolutely spot on OP, I do want to be able to have a piss in peace - without wondering if there is someone with a penis in the cubicle next to me
I also want to be able to choose whether the person giving me a smear test has a penis or not and I really want to be able to continue to challenge men who wander into ladies changing are “by accident”

DonkeyHotei · 17/10/2018 16:50

OP, ask MNHQ to edit your title for you. Else you'll have any number of tiresome posters gleefully shouting semantics.

HemanOrSheRa · 17/10/2018 16:51

Trans Activist doesn't mean what you think it means.

thenightsky · 17/10/2018 16:51

I'm glad you agree that trans activists are bigots who want to drive women's rights back by about 100 years OP. Welcome to the club.

Soyalatteforme · 17/10/2018 16:51

How ignorant, quite clear from your terminology you’ve not researched the position of TA or GC. Once you’ve done that, come back and involve yourself in intelligent debate, otherwise you’re just making yourself look obtuse.

snapnfarter · 17/10/2018 16:51

I'm not on the side of females, no. I'm on the side of human beings, and these views about female only spaces, although valid, are being used as a stick to batter trans people.
I know I'm not educated on the issue, but I don't feel the need to be. It's plain stupid and bigoted. Angry

It's not popular on here for some reason (not sure why this has become the hotbed for, in my opinion, misdirected hate) but I agree with you OP. The number of people who would want to self ID to perpetrate horrible crimes would be so low as to make denying a lot of people basic human decency a crying shame. People use the legally available internet to watch child porn, but the internet isn't banned. People use legal cars to run others over, but cars aren't banned. The point is, there is always always going to be a small, fucking horrible subset of people who manipulate laws and situations to their own advantage to devastating effect, but to suggest a handful of high profile perverts denies thousands and thousands of already marginalised people the chance to live their life with slightly less fear is ridiculous. Like the inability to self ID currently is stopping anybody committing heinous acts...
