I'm in bed. Feel wide awake, alternatively hot then cold. I've got leg cramps, greasy hair (wtaf), I feel really grumpy. Can't relax. I know ill wake up again in about 3 hours, drenched in sweat with restless legs. It's totally shit.

Same. And I’ve started getting UTI’s. And my face itches. Shit

Miladymilord · 13/09/2018 22:29

Yes! The itching! I forgot the itching!

It's fucking shit. And goes on for years. Or at least seems to.

Commiserations to all fellow sufferers

IAmWhoYouSayIAm · 13/09/2018 22:30

I’m early menopause and I fuckin hate it.

Hot sweats, irritable and dry. I’m now on HRT.... it’s made a remarkable difference!

I suggest sleeping in pants and vest top. Also run your wrists under cold water, it’ll cool you down.

Miladymilord · 13/09/2018 22:30

I'm getting hrt on Monday. I've only felt like it for a few months and I can't cope.

YouTheCat · 13/09/2018 22:31

It's shit. Total design fault. Hate it so much. I love my sleep and it keeps getting interrupted by my old body.

yummyeclair · 13/09/2018 22:31

Ditto, feel like I am in an alien body! In desperation went to an exercise class - now hoping if I exercise everyday that it will help me stop feeling like Incredible Hulk. Never realised leg cramps were a symptom . Going to cultivate my sense of humour. . . . .

MrsPatrickDempsey · 13/09/2018 22:32

HRT saved me.

Miladymilord · 13/09/2018 22:33

I run a mile every day, don't drink (well very rarely), do 10000 steps. Nothing fucking makes a difference.

I exercise as many days as possible & sleep with the window open 😂 it means I get 7 hours of decent sleep

Harrykanesrightsock · 13/09/2018 22:34

Starflower oil has really helped with night sweats and insomnia. I felt real benefits then ran out and didn’t order more. I haven’t had a good night sleep in weeks. I’ve just started back on them and hoping to feel better soon.

Miladymilord · 13/09/2018 22:35

I would almost literally kill for 7 hours sleep. The bastarding leg cramps!

DottyDotAgain · 13/09/2018 22:35

Hi
I was night sweats every night several times each night and hot flushes in the day and someone recommended sage tablets - which I ignored for a few months because I thought it wouldn't work - bought slme in desperation about 3 months ago and they've disaooesres completely! Could be co-incidence but I don't care - am buying them FOREVER Grin. I buy the really strong very expensive ones, but think it's well worth the money!

Might be worth having a go if you haven't tried them yet?

Still a total nightmare to have irregular/surprise periods though and to want to kill most people most of the time... Blush

5foot5 · 13/09/2018 22:36

I'm in bed. Feel wide awake,

Um. Well it's only just after 10. If you are wide awake why are you even in bed? And mumsnetting will hardly make you sleepy.

Sorry. Not the point I know. I must be lucky, I am 56 and must be past all that I suppose since periods stopped years ago. Still get unexpected hot flushes sometimes but it passes.

Miladymilord · 13/09/2018 22:36

Im going straight to hrt. I want a couple more years of feeling relatively normal

OP posts:
DottyDotAgain · 13/09/2018 22:36

Oops lots of typos sorry- will blame the menopause... Hmm

iamme21 · 13/09/2018 22:36

I think I get 7 hours sleep a week 😢

FelixTitling · 13/09/2018 22:37

The restless legs is the most unbearable thing. I can't believe how horrible it is. If I cut sugar, alcohol and caffeine out of my diet completely it pretty much goes, but it's hard to keep up.

PurpleArmy · 13/09/2018 22:37

Agreed. To be so sweaty yet so dry where it matters.

What totally fucks me off are the options:

HRT with all its downsides
Or a bunch of unproven herbal remedies which cost a fucking fortune.
Angry

Miladymilord · 13/09/2018 22:38

Yes my restless legs are awful. Tonight they are particularly bad.

OP posts:
ivykaty44 · 13/09/2018 22:41

If I don’t exercise It makes a big difference, Monday I slept until 3.30 am
Exercise Tuesday & Wednesday and I’m sleep through

passwordfailure · 13/09/2018 22:41

The random periods are such a nuisance! Super plus tampons, night time strength pads and still having to change the bastard sheets. Found myself looking at toddlers' disposable bed mats. I have no clue when a period is going to hit. And achy boobs, I'm nearly 50 and feel 15 again Confused

TroysMammy · 13/09/2018 22:41

I take pramipexole for restless legs. Side effects included compulsive shopping and gambling, binge eating and increased sexual urges. I don't think it's working as I haven't had the desire to buy a lottery ticket for months Grin.

Seriously, I don't get twitchy legs before bedtime and they aren't so bad at night. I don't get full on sweaty flushes, I just feel warmer than normal. At 50 I'm still on the POP.

Miladymilord · 13/09/2018 22:42

I've been for a run, and I have been outside with the horses for hours.

Dhs snoring doesn't help
