To be sick and tired of the fucking menopause?

I'm in bed. Feel wide awake, alternatively hot then cold. I've got leg cramps, greasy hair (wtaf), I feel really grumpy. Can't relax. I know ill wake up again in about 3 hours, drenched in sweat with restless legs. It's totally shit.

Ooh nobody's child I've been meaning to do that. Thanks

Three wheeler
Sadly true on fibroids - that's why I am trying not to go down the HRT route.

Milady - good luck! Maybe stage a sit in if they refuse?! Wink

Miladymilord · 14/09/2018 09:35

If they refuse they'll feel the force of THE RAGE

If you take away your pillows, it helps realign your body's natural posture, thus alleviating restless legs. Also helps with painful hips, back and neck. I was having terrible restless legs and hip pains.

Miladymilord · 14/09/2018 09:48

I love my pillow though. It's quite thin. I'd rather fill my body with pregnant mare hormones than give up my pillow.

Your pillow is your enemy! Chuck it out! Try it for a couple of nights and see and feel the difference in your body. I had two lovely pillows that I would snuggle into. I didn't realise they were causing me so much pain and causing restless legs.

Satsumaeater · 14/09/2018 10:04

Never realised leg cramps were a symptom

Me neither - I do get a lot of cramp and I got a lot of cramp when I was pregnant too, so you have got me wondering whether it's something hormonal. I am not really having any symptoms that I would put down to the menopause but when you put them together it makes me wonder if it's all related. My periods are getting a bit weird, definitely heavier some months, not so bad other months, headaches are the main thing.

I'm not taking anything except a multivitamin and iron each day.

Miladymilord · 14/09/2018 10:05

All I can say - and I realise we are all different - the symptoms I am having with full menopause (52 no periods for a year) are nothing like the niggling things I had with possible.peri menopause. It's like being hit with a truck.

Satsumaeater · 14/09/2018 10:06

Anyway I've just decided that none of the nasty stuff is going to happen to me.

That will work, right?

Threewheeler1 · 14/09/2018 10:14

janinlondon Grin That made me laugh out loud. Everybody loves a nice fireplace. Good luck!
yakari Flowers to a fellow fibroid breeder! Might start giving mine names Grin
I find the worst bit is the internal ultrasoundy probe thing that looks like something NASA would send into a moon cave.
I can cope with most things but that contraption gives me nightmares...

DontCallMeCharlotte · 14/09/2018 10:25

Firstly, going decaf definitely helps with the "warms" and secondly, my DH gets cramp quite a lot. Could he be going through the menopause?

Threewheeler1 · 14/09/2018 10:25

Miladymilord
Shit! Shock I thought it might get better when the periods stopped!
Really hope the HRT helps you.
Definitely do a Ray Winstone when you get in there...
(imagines Milady with two henchmen in black suits and shades, kicking door open, flinging bag on the desk, rolling up sleeves, leaning in to speak in menacing cockney growl whilst retaining eye contact, inches from GPs face...)

juneau It's not a given, there are those who sail through it Smile

balkanscot · 14/09/2018 10:43

I concur, it’s absolutely the pits!

I went into sudden & immediate menopause thanks to bastard breast cancer at 46 (BRCA 2 positive) after oophorectomy in March. Meaning I can’t ever even consider HRT.

The sweats. The moods. Inability to sleep beyond some stupid o’clock. The stiffness all over my body. I run, I walk to work & back, eat healthily. I may as well not bother. 🤬

I know, I know, this is better than the alternative. But still. 😡

Miladymilord · 14/09/2018 10:45

I run, I eat healthily I barely drink.

The coffee might not help, might try and knock that on the head.

I forgot the weight gain. Oh, the weight gain. 🤬🤬🤬 Taking Letrozole probably doesn’t help either.

Miladymilord · 14/09/2018 10:51

Yep. I've put on a stone and a half in 18 months.

OP posts:
Miladymilord · 14/09/2018 10:52

Have a horrific spare tyre. Boobs are shrinking. Presuming that's the male pattern weight gain. Oh, and I have a beard.

So that’s why I’ve been itching like buggery! I think I’m more a bit of a weirdo though Cos I started with peri menopause sysmtoms when I was 44 despite everyone telling me it was too soon. Then everything went back to normal. Now I’m 49 and things seem to be stirring again in that my periods are all over the place but I don’t have the flushes I had before. However I have been so itchy...

balkanscot · 14/09/2018 11:03

Ah, yes, the black bristles on my chin & upper lip. May even start making hair brushes out of them, soon.

Miladymilord · 14/09/2018 11:05

I shave mine. Keep meaning to book laser treatment

OP posts:
Miladymilord · 14/09/2018 11:06

Yes mrsgrindha the itching is a bastard

Alicatz66 · 14/09/2018 11:06

Oh fuck !!! ...I'm 52 and no period since January .. getting hot flushes but not too bad .. I'm waiting for it to get worse but wondering if it's different for everyone?? I can sleep 😴... worse thing I'm finding a few pounds sticking on me and really hard to lose .. I do exercise.. had very early stage breast cancer 8 years ago so wouldn't take HRT .. I'm always a moody drama queen so no one has noticed a difference !!

BonfiresOfInsanity · 14/09/2018 11:06

I started HRT a month ago and love it. It took maybe a week fr the hot flushes to go - I was getting them 4-5 times an hour and it was horrific.

Still sleeping badly but I don't think that's entirely menopausal - I#'ve been awake since 3.30am and I'm knackered - I've got my 11yo DS birthday party this evening Shock.

I'm not expecting my body shape or wrinkles to go but I'm just so grateful not to have the furnace burning inside me.

Oh and my rage was more sadness and self pity and possibly suicidal feelings (but not ones I would act on). This has eased considerably.

Good luck to you all!
