AIBU to be shocked that the NSPCC cancelled their Facebook Live session with Mumsnetters, because they didn't like the questions? That they can't explain why they aren't putting children in danger?

I am reeling from this - Mumsnet promoted a Facebook Live for Thursday 12.30... to talk about keeping Kids safe from Abuse, and to publicise their PANTS and SpeakOut StaySafe campaigns.

NSPCC just didn't turn up - and only 4 hours later published a brief statement that said nothing!!!! So lots of people waiting for a no show.

It is fine for them to have the policies they have - IF THEY CAN EXPLAIN that they really are in all children's best interests and that they aren't putting girls at risk..... They haven't even tried to do that... Just ignored us and run. Ignored MUMSNET - which is full of people who raise or give money to the NSPCC, and who use it.

HOW??? I am bewildered beyond words.....

Oh ... and hopefully clicky link here of the questions Mumsnetters asked - really thoughtful cogent ones!

Where was your question then rat....

And how can you keep kids safe when the adults paid to help them are forcing them to lie about the very thing they saw with their own eyes...

NothingOnTellyAgain · 02/09/2018 19:47

What the fuck is the point of any "pants" campaign (starting to sound like that's a good description) when they provide a means for distressed children to disclose and then they just fucking leave them.

Never been on childline site before.

Anyone know anything about this?

Mrbatmun · 02/09/2018 19:48

Rat what are you on about?

RatRolyPoly · 02/09/2018 19:49

You lot got the bloody thread pulled from active by swooping in like the wicked witch's flying monkeys and you ask where was my question??

You're literally blind to your own self-absorbed offensive nonsense.

You could have asked the NSPCC whether they’ve change policy since those cases.

Why don't you stop telling other people what to do and ask the question yourself? You had the opportunity to ask but didn't,why not?

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 02/09/2018 20:03

There is no 'you lot'. You are just as free to ask your own questions as anyone else.

Stop your ridiculous virtue signalling bullshit and wake the fuck up.

NothingOnTellyAgain

So you're going to get mumsnetters everywhere to cancel their subscriptions and then complain that the NSPCC is too strapped for cash to respond to every child?

They have been saying, with desperation that not every child is responded to since I was a child myself.

Way to go, you're really helping.

heartsease68 · 02/09/2018 20:07

That's exactly what happened. It is dangerous for children when parents lose perspective and ignore real dangers in favour of political platforms. Well put.

Mrbatmun · 02/09/2018 20:08

If you want to obsess on sexual abuse which seems to be the case - why not ask about... wait for it... Asian men. Huge networks of Asian men across the country in Rochdale.... et al.

Yes, an issue that was ignored for far too long because certain people were too afraid of being seen as 'bigoted' to do something about it.

Just like now, certain people are too afraid of being seen as 'bigoted' to allow even a duscussion of the possible ways in which self id could be exploited to break down safeguarding boundaries.

ZuttZeVootEeVro · 02/09/2018 20:10

MN opened the thread on 22/8, the first response was 28/8. Even if the first question forced the thread off active Confused, you still had days to respond. But you didn't. I don't know why you are cross with other people's questions when you had none of your own.

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/09/2018 20:11

And if it's all bolkocks it could have been proven and answered right away and next question asked.

If we are all soooooo wrong why is there not a single detail about why

LemonJello · 02/09/2018 20:14

I am sick of the implication that feminists were trying to sabotage the webchat or trick or trip up the NSPCC.

If the NSPCC has a robust policy that stood up to scrutiny THERE WOULD BE NOTHING TO TRIP THEM UP WITH!

And they would have come on for the web chat and answered the damn questions and put everyone’s mind at rest.

StealthPolarBear · 02/09/2018 20:16

Cowards

LemonJello · 02/09/2018 20:17

Amen rat, if you really are bothered by the fact that this web chat has been lost then why don’t you get on to mumsnet about the pre recorded video that they said they would be making with NSPCC?

LemonJello · 02/09/2018 20:17

And not amen! 😂

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/09/2018 20:18

Exactly lemon

The people who were actively pushing all these policies are dropping like flies with scandals/arrests/suspensions

Everything's done in secret

News comes to light on practically a daily basis with regards to increases in assults or referrals to clinics or debates shut down or arrests and other "it will never happen"

But yes we are the problem Hmm

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 02/09/2018 20:20

RatRolyPoly

Oh for fuck sake, you've done WHAT now??

Christ alive, I am SO FUCKING ANGRY, for all your bleating about women and children it's quite clear from this you don't give a shit. You literally don't.

^
Oh here comes gob almighty.

If parents are asking these questions in such rapid succession, don’t you think perhaps if is of concern? There are millions of people using this website and very few other questions were offered. It wasn’t, before the NSPCC buggered off, a debate thread, if was a “set your question down here” thead. Anyone could have asked anything pertaining to the campaign. The questions I saw, all related to the campaign, it just so happens you and the NSPCC didn’t like the slant of the questions.
Just because the NSPCC is a big name, it doesn’t make it squeaky clean and an organisation we cannot criticise.

RatRolyPoly · 02/09/2018 20:21

Uh-huh, thread opened on the 22nd and after 6 days of silence a flock of GC posters descended all at once on the 7th day?

Flying. Monkeys.

I will put money on that thread having been advertised on another GC forum as being a good opportunity for exposure. I fucking BET that's what happened, and if you're reading this and know that to be true, have a long hard look at yourselves and think about those kids you've screwed over.

Moanslice · 02/09/2018 20:21

spirited

So many examples of trans identified males assualting women. Cant find any examples of trans identified men being assualted in mens spaces

WickedWitchsFlyingMonkey · 02/09/2018 20:22

I do love it when an AFA or handmaiden gives me a new name. 😀

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/09/2018 20:23

We aren't the ones fucking kids over

The organisation's allowing easy access to their victims in the name of progress and forgetting about all the other kids who could be harmed in the process are doing the fucking over

Moanslice · 02/09/2018 20:24

roly the kids being fucked over are those that are being fed the lie that they have been born in the wrong body/can change sex; having puberty pharmaceutically halted; being encouraged into a lifetime of drugs and cosmetic surgery. Instead of being left the fuck alone to be kids and probably grow up to be lesbians or gay

WickedWitchsFlyingMonkey · 02/09/2018 20:25

Or maybe one person posting bumped it so it was in Active?
