Wedding v missing cat - WWYD?

Twotailed · 23/08/2018 11:36

My best friend is getting married on Saturday in a town about an hour away and I am supposed to be travelling through this afternoon to help her with venue set up. However, my beloved cat has gone missing (totally out of character, very very worried). WIBU to not go until this evening or even tomorrow, so I can stay here to look for my cat?

I am MOH so I feel like it’s terrible if I don’t go today. I’m not the only person helping and I don’t think they strictly need me, but I know my friend is very excited for me to arrive and wants me there.

WWYD?

Glad your cat is home but if you were my MOH and that was your excuse I’d never speak to you again!

Uh oh! Bridezilla alert!! “Everything is about me and only me and your personal life and issues don’t matter because everything is about me me me”

OP, ignore the nasty, unnecessary responses. Very happy you found your cat! Now you can enjoy the wedding stress free Flowers

I'm so glad she had been found. Our bloody naughty torties take it in turns to go missing. One got herself shut in an empty property over the weekend. Even though I knew where she was I was distraught. Convinced she would drink toilet water and soil herself in fear.
She was fine. I was less so.
If the bride is a real friend they would understand.

dorisdog · 25/08/2018 00:16

Hooray! (I'd cancel my own wedding to hunt for a missing pet, quite honestly. And I'd make all the guests help.)

MrMeSeeks · 25/08/2018 00:26

NotUmbongoUnchained im sure if op was your friend she’d be grateful!
I know i would be do i could cut ypu out.

Twotailed please take her too a vet.
Mine showed no signs of injury though had actually done significant damage.

NCasIknowMNetters · 25/08/2018 00:54

I had to deal with a fatally injured cat a few days before my own wedding. Despite all that I had to do, I made up over 500 flyers and posted them in a new estate so the owner could call me and find out where her cat was.

Sod the wedding prep. In the end a wedding boils down to a few people saying the right words over a handful of minutes. Cats are family. Even the one sitting on my hands, with his halitosis and thyroid issue sadly not unrelated, he's losing an awful lot of weight despite expensive meds and expensive blood tests to see how the meds are working

People are so weird here about animals

I know, right? There's been a couple of weirdos on this thread who think their friends' should come and hang paper lanterns for them rather than go looking for a lost and possibly frightened and injured animal. Can you believe that? Weird indeed.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 25/08/2018 01:38

Sorry OP I a really misread your first post. I thought you were missing the actual wedding!

So pleased at the happy outcome Op
NotUmbobong Unchained— this is something that profoundly irritates me about MN. —— the failureof posters to read and comprehend the OP’s opening posts and/or adddititional posts and o judge the OP on a misconception

So happy to read that's she's home safe!

Twotailed · 26/08/2018 16:52

Just back from the wedding and it was lovely! And for those who were concerned I did take her for a check up and she’s all good ☺️ No internal or external injuries, teeth all good, slightly dehydrated but otherwise in excellent health. She’s currently purring on my lap! Thank you all so much for your kindness x
