She definitely doesn’t see and it makes me feel better and is always at home, not out and about etc. My DSis thinks it’s appalling.

It makes me feel a bit uncomfortable to be totally honest with you, although I’m probably unreasonable.

I so nearly did this today, but managed not to, it weirdly felt like it would be crossing a line.

You'll get lots of pearl clutches on this. Just to warn you. I don't do it, bit can understand it. It's a bit like the "oh FFS, what now" I do under my breath when DS calls me for the millionth time whilst I'm putting washing away.

Haha! This made me laugh as my sis-in-law
was doing this to my very grotty toddler the other day! I can’t see the harm in it as a release when you’re having a really frustrated moment.

I'm sure loads of people will be here soon to tell you that it's wrong but I've done It, I've also muttered fuck off to myself when my dd is banging on the bathroom door for the millionth time that day. I've never said/done anything to her face but sometimes it just helps to get the frustration out.

I don’t think it’s really acceptable TBH. She’ll eventually catch you (and do it to others).

I have been known to sing that song that goes ‘shuddup, just shuddup shuddup’ under my breath in the other room when reception-age DD is having a tantrum though, so I do know where you’re coming from!

@Legbreak don’t feel bad I do this too. DD is 13 now and never caught me. I do it to DH too it relieves stress just like swearing does and is harmless. Ignore the pearl clutchers

I do it too, I've got 2 under 3 and sometimes if they've pushed me to the absolute edge it really does help! I'd much rather do that than shout / lose my temper with them - they never see, and I'd never do it in public. But sometimes toddlers are just horrible and it helps!

Oh I deffo do this to DH, along with 2 finger salute & lots of muttered fuck offs...

It's fine, she doesn't kniw and you feel better.

I mutter 'For Fuck's sake' before yelling in a mild, light tone 'What is it dear?' to the 300 yells per day of 'MuuuuuUUUUUUuuuuummmMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm!'

I don't care who's in the room to hear my mutter; they will be over 18.

To my DDs' faces I will use extreme sarcasm and over-the-top threats. My favourite from their 3-5 age obstructive behaviour was 'I'll tie you upside down from a branch and whip you with brambles.' Some people looked aghast, but my DDs would grin and say 'No you won't' but behave 1% better than before.

It's better to release your frustrations in little acts than end up at the end of your tether and about to snap. Better for you and better for them. Carry on... as you were... etc...

I managed to withhold it until they turned 14.7. It’s a daily occurrence now.

I think that’s quite horrible.. Would u like ur toddler doing that behind ur back when they’re adults and ur calling them to ask for something ?

Nah I do too sometimes, but not often as I have a 5 and 3yo that might be watching. My 2yo is a right nobhead sometimes.

It may seem odd but I lean towards it would be better to scream infront of her than swear at her in secret, there’s an added “nastiness” in the latter that doesn’t sit right with me

I wouldn't. Mine would turn round and I'd end up trying to pretend I was picking my nose!
