I took on the mantle to start another thread. If that is not allowed, Mods delete the thread, I am not sure of the protocol. But it certainly is an interesting discussion!

If allowed to stay as my OP, let's go!

OP posts:
Lazypuppy · 14/06/2018 20:33

I'm looking forward to being out of the EU.

keyboardkate · 14/06/2018 20:35

I respectfully think that the problem is about power within the Tories

Apart of course from arch Brexiteers like Jacob Rees Mogg who is moving his hedge fund to Dublin, just in case like.

Such fkn hypocrisy is beyond belief. Has no one challenged him on this yet?

OP posts:
Juells · 14/06/2018 20:40

I look outside my window and see that the sky hasn’t fallen in,

But Brexit hasn't happened yet, so far nothing has changed.

Heyduggeesflipflop · 14/06/2018 20:40

Keyboardkate

I suspect he doesn’t have that much direct control over ‘his’ company given it likely has a management board etc

If the issue is just a Tory feud, why did the majority of the country agree? They can’t all be tories...

KennDodd · 14/06/2018 20:42

Well if the sky not falling in is your measure of all being well then I envy you. I wish I was so blissfully unaware of the mess we are in.

Heyduggeesflipflop · 14/06/2018 20:42

Juells

You have a short memory. According to our political masters we should already all be living in caves. A leave result was enough to guarantee that.

Heyduggeesflipflop · 14/06/2018 20:43

Oh kenndodd you are a drama queen aren’t you. It could be worse - we could be facing decades in the embrace of an eu determined to centralise power away from member states

Look on the bright side eh?

Buteo · 14/06/2018 20:45

JRM just claims that he doesn’t make investment decisions. He just trousers the £175k a year plus bonus.

I guess that’s how you get to be able to spend £5.4 million on a house (plus renovation costs).

KennDodd · 14/06/2018 20:47

The EU centralising power away from the incompetent Tories (and the rest) sounds much better than what we have now.

KennDodd · 14/06/2018 20:51

Anyway @Heyduggeesflipflop

Perhaps you could explain (with facts) how things will be ok? I suspect that's too much to ask though. After all didn't Arron Banks say just this week that he had to 'take people by the hand and lead them up the garden path' and that the Remain campaigns big mistake was to use facts with people while Leave used emotion.

keyboardkate · 14/06/2018 20:52

No, it is the fact that JRM can be happy with his company moving to Dublin just in case Brexit is a disaster is what gets me.

I suppose it is a big FK off to Brexit. Any other reasons do you think?

Hypocritical in the extreme. But it will not be reported either.

OP posts:
Heyduggeesflipflop · 14/06/2018 20:52

Buteo - ah the politics of envy...

Kenndodd - and that comment explains beautifully why you do not understand leavers. It matters a great deal to me who rules me. By contrast you are happy to sell your right to decide away in exchange for cheap mobile phone contracts and the ability to get a cheap beach holiday in Spain. Where is your national pride and self respect?

Heyduggeesflipflop · 14/06/2018 20:53

Kenn Dodd - you are a fantasist

GhostofFrankGrimes · 14/06/2018 20:55

Find it remarkably that with companies leaving the UK and jobs being lost, people still support this madness.

Leavers still peddling the now disgraced leave campaign slogans.

KennDodd · 14/06/2018 20:56

Kenn Dodd - you are a fantasist

Arron Banks said that to MPs when he appeared before them the other day.

lostinsunshine · 14/06/2018 20:56

Good job I'm a prepper with an Irish Mum. Who voted Remain just before she died in her mid 80s. Irish passport for me. And Dh who has an Irish Dad. And our dd.

Heyduggeesflipflop · 14/06/2018 20:57

Ghost of

Back for more?

You do know this country has almost full employment don’t you?

Go visit one of your hero’s socialist paradises (Venezuela) if you would like a looksee at the alternative

KennDodd · 14/06/2018 20:57

Where is your national pride and self respect?

It's in the toilet at the moment.

Heyduggeesflipflop · 14/06/2018 20:58

Aaron banks knows kenn Dodd? :)

GhostofFrankGrimes · 14/06/2018 21:00

Hey,

you need new material. Care to address the governments own impact assessment reports? How about the CBI warning on manufacturing? JLR job losses?

Or how about zero hour contracts, low pay or the Tory civil war? Exciting times!

siwel123 · 14/06/2018 21:02

@Rider. You coming to join us on this website.

siwel123 · 14/06/2018 21:02

Post i mean

Heyduggeesflipflop · 14/06/2018 21:02

Ghost of

Neither the government or the cbi are impartial - both want us to remain so I shall be sceptical about their claims

As to zero hours contracts and the like. Care to support your claim that their rise (presumably allowed under eu rules) has increased since the referendum

Go book your tickets for Venezuela. Seriously

Iflyaway · 14/06/2018 21:03

I'm looking forward to being out of the EU.

Why exactly? Do you have a crystal ball?

Thank fuck I live in Europe, and yes, the EU.

I DID live in UK once. And very sad there is so much confusion about UK's future. I wouldn't wish it on any of you. Just because your future is an unknown.

And that makes for a very sad security - jobs, houses, finances, etc.

How the hell can you plan for anything? You can't basically.
