Anyway, Tom Jones has a son whom he has never seen and apparently wants nothing to do with...

It's hard to move on from parental rejection. Your eye roll really makes me laugh. I have done years of counselling to try and make sense of why my own mother rejected me. Maybe I should just forget all about her and move on - if only it were that easy. I have carried the scars for years.

I've never understood the widespread adoration of this man,and this just compounds it. I've always thought he was a sleazy womaniser,who put his poor late wife through hell with his numerous affairs. I don't even rate his voice that much. Every time that damn song 'Delilah' comes on the radio,I want to hurl a brick at it.

ALong, well no. He may well be a sleaze, I don't know him but his affairs were well known and his wife determined to put herself through this 'hell' by staying with him. She had her reasons undoubtedly but she had a choice. Don't do her and other women a disservice by saying that women have no choice but to stay with a cheat.

I think @polsha makes such an important point, that it's hard to move on from parental rejection. If you don't know what polsha means, then count yourself lucky.

My Dad bloody loved Tom Jones, so I kinda quite like a bit of Tom Jones. Although if he came on tv my mum used to say “ewwwww look at him with his high forehead, he looks really sleazy”

Well some of us do know what that's like, IAgree, we just don't have to deal with it in the public eye and this son is choosing to do that. His choice.

My parents lived in the same area as him and I think that for lots of people at the time it was a truth universally acknowledged that Tom Jones was a massive knob.

Tom Jones and his wife according to her had a loving relationship and enduring closeness. She knew about his extra marital ‘activities’ and did not file for divorce. That was their business. She had severe anxiety and he provided her with the stability and sanctuary of a refuge, again according to her. What’s with the Daily Mail moralising. I feel sorry for the children born to groupies and flings but this isn’t just down to Tom alone though. It sounds horrendous that he doubted paternity but at the same time, he may very well not be the only guy around, especially with regards to groupies. Many did quite openly hang around a number of stars. His marriage was no secret nor did he ever promise any kind of future to any of his flings. I don’t think it is realistic to expect him to be present in he life of kids conceived under those circumstances. Once he was proven to be the dad, he paid. I think the women in those cases need to take responsibility for their choices and the impact on their kids.

I don't disagree, but TJ never wrote the song. Neither was he he original artist to record it.

The mother of a friend of mine was 'propositioned' by him in the late 1960's. She was in a hotel bar where he was staying, she was on a night out with some of her friends. He literally called over one if his minders, said she'll do and sent the minder over to ask her to go upstairs with him. When she had told the minder where to go, as she was completely disgusted, he pointed at another girl and said something along the lines of 'try her.

I agree, I am giving it as an example of the rubbish songs that he did. There are too many to mention them all. Now he is trying to pretend he was a blues singer all along,! Really?

Well the last time I read about him he was refusing to acknowledge his son with the woman he cheated with and he didn’t want anything to do with his son by her.

As someone else said Liam never denied he was Molly Moorish's father or refused to pay. He has never said anything about being tricked. I got the impression that the relationship with Lisa Moorish was so difficult that it was better to step away but provide financial support. Jones' behaviour is worse.

I actually think the way to tell a decent man from an arsehole is a situation where an unplanned pregnancy has occurred. Any decent man will accept responsibility and not whine about being tricked or being seduced. How pathetic 😡

There is no comparison. Liv Tyler's mother Bebe Buell, said that Todd Rundgren was Liv's father. She was in a relationship with the with Rundgren and Tyler was heavily into drugs at the time. Liv Tyler looks like a very beautiful version of her father which led Tyler himself to raise the matter when she was 8.

Other than having the casual fling in the first place Steve Tyler has behaved well since he found out. Liv Tyler has a good relationship with both her fathers.
