Yes, Daily Fail link... But I am currently happy to give them clicks for various reasons.

Anyway, Tom Jones has a son whom he has never seen and apparently wants nothing to do with...

"Sir Tom denied he was Jon's father until it was proved by a court-ordered paternity test in 1989, and the singer agreed to pay £1,700 a month maintenance for his upkeep until his 18th birthday."

"Sir Tom only acknowledged Jon's existence in 2008, saying: 'It wasn't something I planned. I was tricked. I fell for the seduction.'"

What a piece of shit he is!

According to his biography he always went for the most available woman in a room rather than the most attractive.

BunchAMunchyCarrots · 03/06/2018 12:31

Tom has a good guy image

Really? I thought he had always had a sleazeball image.

AlonsosLeftPinky · 03/06/2018 12:32

Hes not really a secret child as there's been lots publicised about him. He was also a drug dealer (convicted), and was reaching out when he got out of prison and had nowhere to live from what I remember.

He's paid child maintenance to the guys mother, he owes no more than that.

TerfsUp · 03/06/2018 12:32

The poor woman lived like a recluse

I read somewhere that she had agoraphobia, which is why she stayed in Wales and did not relocate to the US.

TerfsUp · 03/06/2018 12:33

Tom has a good guy image

Nope. Not even close.

Slanetylor · 03/06/2018 12:34

Yeah I don’t think she said with him for the lifestyle. She seemed like she had problems of some sort or at least lived inside the house and rarely left.

Juells · 03/06/2018 12:35

@surferjet

Yeah, she could have left at anytime, she knew all about him & other women - I guess she loved the money & lifestyle he provided, which makes her as bad as him.

Very judgy and unfair. Threads here are full of wives who love their husbands and can't seem to leave. It doesn't usually have anything to do with money or lifestyle.

ohreallyohreallyoh · 03/06/2018 12:36

Sod the long-term impact on the child of having a father who couldn’t Give a shit, eh?

I know we can’t force people to parent when they don’t want to but it the acceptance of it that continues to make it an OK response. Surely a child deserves some kind of recognition and relationship with their parent?

expatinscotland · 03/06/2018 12:37

Meh. These guys are all idiots. They use women, but more than a few women try to get pregnant by rich men to use them as a meal ticket. The men are stupid to have unprotected sex.

Cindie943811A · 03/06/2018 12:38

Anyone interested can google TJ in South African news re cases filed in South African Courts re his alleged behaviour. Cases also filed in US re alleged behaviour. Papers in U.K. can’t or won’t print.
I’ve never particularly liked the man but felt totally disillusioned after reading because it seems there are very few male celebrities whose behaviour is upright, ethical, moral etc . The majority use their power and wealth to to exploit others.
It was ever thus, of course, which is why millions are proved by DNA to be descended from a handful of past tyrants such as Genghis Khan.
One would have hoped that living in so called enlightened times that things would have improved.
Shame on the lot of them for damaging so many lives.

expatinscotland · 03/06/2018 12:39

Jude Law's got a daughter in the US he pays on but doesn't see.

Queenoftheblitz · 03/06/2018 12:41

Tom's wife was agraphobic but did move to the us. She wanted to move back to the uk but couldn't face getting on a plane. So she stayed in their mansion, polishing and drinking champagne. She was so anxious that she hid in the bedroom when Robbie Williams visited. I felt so sorry for her. She didn't have much of a life.
TJ isn't very intelligent and just not very nice.
Him and Linda were together since age 16 and had a strong bond but the fact they only had one child seems odd to me.

diddl · 03/06/2018 12:41

"did not relocate to the US."

They didn't live seperately did they & she died in LA?

RoseWhiteTips · 03/06/2018 12:41

POI:

Liam Gallagher has very recently met with one of his daughters.

placemats · 03/06/2018 12:42

Bless. He was tricked into putting his penis into someone's vagina without care for contraception - sarcasm

mrsmuddlepies · 03/06/2018 12:44

I always thought it must be hard for the biological son of the actress Sue Jameson. She gave him up for adoption but kept her biological daughter. She was furious when he tried to make contact with her as an adult. Women who have unwanted babies can give them up for adoption. I don't think men can do this.

Hushnownobodycares · 03/06/2018 12:46

Not acknowleding his son pales in comparison to some of the allegations which have whirled round him.

As a PP said, google TJ and South Africa.

Booie09 · 03/06/2018 12:49

Things were a lot lot different back in the 90s,80s,70s,60s etc you can't force someone to be a parent!!

Can you blame women for not being able to resist this? Wink

To think: Shame on Tom Jones!
bringbacksideburns · 03/06/2018 12:52

Why were they different??

No. Men can be dickheads whatever generation they are born into.

Some men are just crap dads.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 03/06/2018 12:52

No you can’t force someone to be a parent but you can acknowledge that someone who actively avoids their parental responsibility is a feckless wanker

diddl · 03/06/2018 12:53

"She gave him up for adoption but kept her biological daughter."

Why does she get all the flak though?

Surely his father could have brought him up if he'd wanted to?

ManicUnicorn · 03/06/2018 12:54

He's not a nice man. I think he's a massive sleazeball, but being Welsh I find I can't air that opinion in public without being lynched so I'll say it here instead.

HildaZelda · 03/06/2018 12:54

His wife suffered from agoraphobia and had a lot of mental health issues (probably not helped by his behaviour)
She was unable to physically leave the house and probably literally couldn't cope on her own, but according to some of the judgemental attitudes on her she could have just 'got up and left anytime'.
Talk about kicking someone when they're down Hmm
