to not like the word 'c**t' being used as a 'cool' insult by celebrities

Am I at odds with the world or stuck in a time warp where people don't use this word as an insult, but as anglo-saxon for the beautiful female body part used for sex and procreation? Since when do men and women think it's ok to appropriate the best part of the female body to mean the worst of humanity? And no, I don't think it is the same as the analogy of black people owning the 'n' word. Be interested in people's thoughts.

There is nothing beautiful about a cunt.

As for 'best part of the female body'...

Really. Grin

RedForFilth · 21/04/2018 14:45

I just think of it as any other swear word tbh. I would never refer to my vagina/vulva/whatever as a cunt. I love the word cunt tho it's one of my favourite words!

SmileEachDay · 21/04/2018 14:46

My brain is my best bit.

mimibunz · 21/04/2018 14:48

Meh, people say ‘you’re a dick’ and men don’t get offended. And, btw, the best part of MY body is my brain, not my sex organs FFS!

MorningsEleven · 21/04/2018 14:48

Cunt is one of my favourite swears. And actual cunts look like the unidentified object that a seagul dropped outside my house the other day.

SneakyGremlins · 21/04/2018 14:51

I cunting love the word cunt Grin

Nothisispatrick · 21/04/2018 14:54

I like the word. I don't associate it with a vagina really, a cunt is a cunt.

Bouncealot · 21/04/2018 14:56

Lots of deep and meaningful replies so far. I love the word itself. Why is it ugly, Phosphorus? Or are you just conforming to the Patriarcal view?

OP posts:
Korg · 21/04/2018 14:56

When I had a factory job “fing c” was a casual and jocular reference to anyone or anything. I’m not going to lose sleep over it, as there are more meaningful battles to fight.

Bouncealot · 21/04/2018 15:02

Isn't that the point, though? You think you are being subversive, daring and funny, but at the expense of ourselves and the prevailing misogynistic views? Ignorance of the history and meaning of words, doesn't make it ok to use them, once you do know, does it?

Buzzlightyearsbumchin · 21/04/2018 15:04

Im in Scotland, everyone around here uses cunt as a term of endearment Grin

AlonsoTigerHeart · 21/04/2018 15:04

Ahh cunt is not worse then dick or prick

I like it, i use it affectionately.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 21/04/2018 15:11

Ah! We watched Quadrophenia again last night. Jim Off The Bill said "You Caaaaaaant" quite a few times. It was possibly one of the most used words! made us both smile, we hadn't really noticed it when we last watched it together, about 25 years ago!

mummabeargrr · 21/04/2018 15:21

Not a big swearer, but can't stand that word it's all sharp and pointy, but then I have the same revulsion for the word numpty too Sad
Most beautiful part of me is not that either!

mostiquoes · 21/04/2018 15:23

I don't think you'd like Glasgow much OP.

EnidButton · 21/04/2018 15:27

beautiful female body part used for sex and procreation?

Have you looked down there with a mirror lately? Beautiful isn't the word I'd use.

that's assuming you have one

Smeddum · 21/04/2018 15:27

Was just about to comment about it being a term of endearment in Scotland Grin
Ironically though, up here it is very very rarely used to insult someone. Maybe we’ve already burst the patriarchy up here?

And fyi a woman disagreeing with you doesn’t mean she’s pro patriarchy. What pish is that? And if you define a woman by her vagina (best part of the female body and all that) aren’t you just doing what men have been doing for years?

Limoncell0 · 21/04/2018 15:30

I will not be at large in Glasgow then because I despite people using this word more than any other. Vile and unnecessary.

MorningsEleven · 21/04/2018 16:55

True enough. If someone in Glasgow calls you a cunt, they like you; if someone calls you "pal" - as in "Is there a problem here pal?" there's a good chance they're gonna punch you in the face. I cunting love Glasgow.

Smeddum · 21/04/2018 16:56

@MorningsEleven haha I hadn’t really thought of it like that but it’s true! I only ever use pal if I’m pissed off but I never use cunt when I’m pissed off Grin

Merryoldgoat · 21/04/2018 17:00

Why do you get to decide it’s the most beautiful part of the female body?

Graduate223 · 21/04/2018 17:03

Horrible, misogynistic word, like most swear words. I avoid anyone who uses it like the plague, as we obviously don’t share the same values.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 21/04/2018 17:04

I’m in NI, it’s a term of affection here Grin

Smeddum · 21/04/2018 17:05

@ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo

Rawhh · 21/04/2018 17:06

Hahaha ...gasps...hahaha

Are you on crack OP?

What are your thoughts on the words cook and dick as insults. After all I have actually bore witness to some truly striking beautiful penis' in my time. The part of a man's body used for sex and procreation. I have never witnessed a beautiful cunt.
