Am I at odds with the world or stuck in a time warp where people don't use this word as an insult, but as anglo-saxon for the beautiful female body part used for sex and procreation? Since when do men and women think it's ok to appropriate the best part of the female body to mean the worst of humanity? And no, I don't think it is the same as the analogy of black people owning the 'n' word. Be interested in people's thoughts.

@BertrandRussell no, in fairness. I can’t. Like I said, this thread has made me think and I personally won’t be using it any more. Because having read various different points of view I can see how it would upset people.

Lass your agenda is quite clear, you’re right, all the time and anyone who disagrees is not only wrong, but beneath you in some way as well. Which you get across in a particularly unpleasant way. So I’ll bow out now, because I can’t really be arsed engaging with someone who is bickering because they can’t bear being corrected.

I find many other words far more derogatory and insulting, but no one seems to understand the severity of them because it tends to be against the minority.

People use twat and pussy all the time, which also refers to woman's genitalia.
Cunt is only viewed as the worst because people are told it is and therefore give it a pedestal.
