Guys, I KNOW how sad this sounds but I am on maternity leave with a lot (A LOT) of time on my hands - I was following two threads which were absolutely amazing in terms of the responses - the unforgettable CF house sitting thread, and one about taking a 5 month old baby to the cinema. Went out to run errands, came home...BOTH THREADS HAVE BEEN TAKEN DOWN!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HOUSE SITTING SITUATION!?! DID THOSE CFS GET THE MONEY!?!

I expect to be told I have no life, this is fine Smile

Apologies for the caps lock, I am just VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE THREADS Grin

What happened to the one where a family arrived with children and suitcases demanding to stay and wouldn't leave. OP was waiting for DH to get home. Think the family were total strangers to the poster and got aggresive

I've been searching in vain today for a recent thread. It was the poster (Rockefeller or something like that?) who found out she was pregnant a month or so back, she was around 12 weeks when she found out and was on bed rest due to a previous health problem.
I've been on holiday and was wondering how she was doing, it's not even showing in my watched threads.

The rockerfella one was deleted with a mesaage along the lines of 'this was either wishful thinking or a hairy handed poster'. I was gutted about that!

I want to know what happened to a ‘stolen baby name’ thread, not the recent troll one but from earlier in the year. She wanted to name her son after her deceased grandfather, I think that’s where the troll got the idea as it was her sil who was going to use it. I felt so sorry for her, hope she used the name.

myfavourite- i think the council confirmed theres no such service charge and everyone had been paying because they thoght they had to without even checking it

Shiny and Tarty, NCd for this, but I was the poster with the violent crush on a colleague, who became known as ‘Rumpled’ for the duration of the two threads. You’re right, I got alarmed by how many people were following by the time the second thread started and decided to stop updating, especially when some troll hunting started happening. I don’t want to revive either thread on privacy grounds — but we got together in January. He’s more utterly lovely than I could ever have imagined, and I couldn’t be happier.

I'm surprised many think half these threads were real. But real ones that get deleted because they are stolen by the press is just annoying. I saw a thread on Yahoo this week, can't remember which one but it was a recent AIBU. It's frustrating and stops people asking genuine advice.

I too wondered about the thread with the lady who lived in a country lane and saw a strange man half hiding himself when she walked her dog, then lots of weird goings on. Bangs as if someone throwing things against their door late at night and some weird bauble ritual too.

I remember her friends came and they all went to the pub and some locals shed some light on the situation but the op worried about it being identifying so left promising to be back with an update in the new year.

I thought at first the royston valley thread was it, but it wasn’t. Hopefully her move went smoothly.

Also, on the second house sitting one, the update one, on the very first page someone came along and said “you do realise you’ve used real names in your op don’t you”?

Twelve pages later and not one person picked up on it. That to me read as if either one of the couple had read and posted. Or perhaps her partner. I thought that would have gone much sooner.

I would love an update from the lady whose sister and bil kept asking for money etc for the kids. I think social services ended up involved. Her and her dh had no children and helped out with the sister's children. I hope she is doing ok.

@Moneyissue2 I believe with the house thread it was discovered that someone in the village was reading the thread and using it to up their campaign. Essentially they collaborating as a village on this as they were annoyed that the OP wouldn't sell their house to an ex local who wanted to move back. Instead the OP took a higher offer from an outsider that was frowned upon. They found out due to someone at the local pub giving them some advice.

OP did name change and post a few updates on the thread before it was pulled / lost in oblivion but the update explaining that was deleted as she didn't want to cause more drama if people were reading. Last I remember the move was going ahead as planned.

I was really intrigued by a post a few months ago from a woman who had not had sex with her husband for10 years but was devastated/ furious to discover that he had had an affair . Also, that she only had 1 child ( aged about 15) yet didn’t work and had lots of domestic help however didn’t see why she should agree to work. It was so bizarre.
Also, justice before Christmas there was a woman desperate for a marriage proposal but it wasn’t looking likely .
What happened??
