To want to know WHAT HAPPENED!?!

willynillypie · 05/04/2018 16:52

Guys, I KNOW how sad this sounds but I am on maternity leave with a lot (A LOT) of time on my hands - I was following two threads which were absolutely amazing in terms of the responses - the unforgettable CF house sitting thread, and one about taking a 5 month old baby to the cinema. Went out to run errands, came home...BOTH THREADS HAVE BEEN TAKEN DOWN!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HOUSE SITTING SITUATION!?! DID THOSE CFS GET THE MONEY!?!

I expect to be told I have no life, this is fine Smile

Apologies for the caps lock, I am just VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE THREADS Grin

Glad to hear it's going well Katsinhats. How about your husband?

Caribou58 · 05/04/2018 17:59

AIBU to say that it makes me really uncomfortable that threads from here end up making stories in the national press? I know it's not a 'closed' group and all that, but honestly - if this is what passes for journalists finding stories these days, it's appalling.

And I've only been a member here for less than a week!

Message from MNHQ: We're taking this thread down while we have a chat with the OP.

Someone's been sent to see the Head!

StopPOP · 05/04/2018 18:04

I still wonder about the lovely sounding lady who had been married to a total controlling arse for decades. I think he was financially abusive also and eventually she called her son (whilst dog walking) who was extremely relieved and was going to set some wheels in motion for her. She had also spoken to her daughter who was equally relieved.

I hope very much it all worked our for her and she is living a happier life.

Katsinhats · 05/04/2018 18:07

Nanny Dh is still here and he's still a dick. She's pleased to be away from him.

Carbou I was shocked too. It's made me more cautious about what I post. It's horrible because it feels like such a safe and supportive space on here.

SchoolMoney · 05/04/2018 18:08

Why was the asking people to pay for themselves at the baptism taken down? It just says talk guidelines when I go to it!

AhoyDelBoy · 05/04/2018 18:10

Not sad at all OP! Grin I'd reallllly like to know what happened with the 'Fake engagement ring' thread

MrsCatE · 05/04/2018 18:13

Does anybody know what happened to the poor lady who asked to work from home during the bad weather and then received a barrage of abusive texts from workmate (who wanted to do the same) about how she'd appropriated the team's one laptop and was so selfish???! Poor lady had no idea about shared laptop but the texts were so out of order in the first place. OP seemed really shaken and I do hope it was sorted out to her satisfaction.

Caribou58 · 05/04/2018 18:16

Katsinhats said "I was shocked too. It's made me more cautious about what I post. It's horrible because it feels like such a safe and supportive space on here."

That is exactly what I thought!

Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2018 18:17

Sounds like it's been troll central today...

SofieMonde · 05/04/2018 18:22

What was the outcome of the family who were kept awake by a neighbour's 'tumbler/ generator' on all day and a smell of weed?

Gemini69 · 05/04/2018 18:23

DARMMIT........ Crazy SIS in LAW Thread is being pulled as FAKE Hmm

PrincessScarlett · 05/04/2018 18:29

I imagine the house sitter one was pulled as it made national and international press and OP used names and lots of identifiable information. I hope she's OK. I can imagine her DP and CF friends have gone ballistic even though it isn't at all her fault. Really shitty journalism.

willynillypie · 05/04/2018 18:33

DARMMIT........ Crazy SIS in LAW Thread is being pulled as FAKE

I just wanted to say - another one bites the dust!

Not sad at all OP! grin I'd reallllly like to know what happened with the 'Fake engagement ring' thread

ME TOO!! Grin

Stories.

BlankTimes · 05/04/2018 18:36

@Gemini69 shame, it was an intriguing plot, wasn't it? Smile I especially liked the bit where the Best Friend may have known all along and yet never let on, but intimated that the young black sheep of the family could enlighten the OP further.

I think that sometimes good storylines ought to be kept, even if some people think they're not real. There was one not so long ago where loads of people emailed MNHQ and said they didn't care if it wasn't real, it was a cracking good read and it went into Classics.

GabsAlot · 05/04/2018 18:37

what gets me is mn pulling threads because of people being identified when its already made the dailyfail pages

2018SoFarSoGreat · 05/04/2018 18:39

the fake ring one went as well? Jeezy peepers. Everything interesting is pulled. It is really a drag.

Lookforthestars · 05/04/2018 18:42

Fake ended up in a paper so poor op had it pulled.

Mia184 · 05/04/2018 18:43

Blank The SIS in law is one that should have been kept as well - the story was really good.

marywinchester · 05/04/2018 18:48

i was reading a thread about a lady that had moved into a village and how her neighbour didn't want her doing up the house/have work done and kept talking the the builders to find out what she was doing. she put up an iron fence at the front of her house that people were coming to look at after being told to do so by the company that sold the fence. there was also a weird neighbour across the road that kept parking outside her house and was creeping about at night. i didn't have it in my watch list and one day couldn't find it. what happened, anyone know??

3asAbird · 05/04/2018 18:48

Omg was the crazy sis in law fake i was well into it.

How do we know its fake.
Was very elaborate story.

8oOoOoOo8 · 05/04/2018 18:51

It's ridiculous what gets deleted nowadays, especially as people have given sensible suggestions to help prevent trolls etc

Alibaba87 · 05/04/2018 18:53

Do posters have to give consent to journalists who use the stories? The one about a friend upset after she’d said she wanted a healthy baby is surely very identifying!?

TillyMint81 · 05/04/2018 18:53

@Alibaba87 nope Angry
