Waters just broken, help!

Waters broke at 5am this morning. rushed to the hospital who confirmed (no shit Sherlock it was like Niagra!!) but sent me home as no contractions. They have booked an induction for tomorrow morning.

Thing is i am 36+6 so they may not let me give birth in the birthing suite (only from 37 weeks) which is what i wanted. Ideally i need to start having contractions asap so i can avoid having the induction but go in late enough so that the doctors say yes to us going to the birthing suite.

Any advice to get contractions going much appreciated!!! currently sitting on a birthing ball to stay active, going to my happy place for oxytosin etc.

Oh I am so glad he is ok, just read the whole thread thinking "noooooooooo go in and get swabbed in case of infection", they are not supposed to leave you that long with waters broken!

Good luck OP you sound like you are in labour so hopefully no need for an induction

May baby ww plan to do the same. He has been on formula to top him up but by tube only so we have been hand Expressing colostrum to feed by mouth hoping that he will recognise the taste wgen he is strong enough to latch. It's encouraging to seeit worked for you. Xx

Awww congratulations OP! Being a mummy is the best thing in the world. Keep going with the expressing, have the hospital got a pump you could use too? DC1 had severe jaundice & had to have photolight therapy with formula top ups. Hope little one continues to improve & you’re all home together soon.

Obviously we were in pieces when we realised how Ill he was but it really put things into perspective seeing all the other babies. One new born had a lombar puncture in the spine!! I felt for the parents. They xoukdnt watch and had to leave the room :(

I don’t blame them, or you. I was really upset with DC1 & felt so guilty that I couldn’t protect him or that it was somehow my fault & like I’d failed him somehow. They’re so tiny & precious, you’ve waited a lifetime to meet them & you don’t want them to suffer.

We have such similar stories and I was frantic with worry and upset that he was getting tube fed and also topped up with formula too.

It will be a rough few days but he's in the best place and when you get home it will be all the more special.

Everything I ever read about bf has been turned on it's head, he takes a dummy, a bottle, expressed milk and formula and never had a problem on the boob.
