As a biological female I have experienced:
A c section
Pre eclampsia (nearly died)
Single motherhood, currently 90% of all single parents are female, the 10% of men are considered progressive and put on pedestals
Sexual assault, a few times and one horrific incident
I have HPV and have had a lot of smears, and 3 lots of my cervix chopped off, all "pre cancerous cells" have another one next month wish me luck
I've been a victim of domestic violence (strangled me until I was unconscious and broke three of my toes) he was charged with criminal damage, like that's unusual? I'm 32
I have had a period every single month since I was 11 years old

My Aibu is this. Am I being fucking unreasonable to think that India willoughby from CBB is taking this piss out of what being a biological female means, because she somehow in her brain thinks she is an actual woman? How? I don't wake up I the morning and think "ooh I feel so womanly, I need lipstick a dress and eye liner"
I wake up and get on with life, regardless if I have a period or not, because that's who I am, not because who I believe I am.
I understand people who can't cope with gender stereotypes, but reducing being a woman to looking pretty and clothing boils my blood

I’m blocked as well. I haven’t even tweeted her.

ALittleBitOfButter · 13/01/2018 18:57

Ugh. Just looked at the twitter timeline. India has written 'the shops were missing me hashtag I'm a woman'.

Such secist nonsense.

AnotherQuoll · 13/01/2018 20:03

Good grief! His most recent tweet say a "I'm a hundred years too early". Why? Are we headed for another Dark Age where science is banned by woo men, and belief in gendered spirits with poor navigational skills is the basis of law?

QuackPorridgeBacon · 13/01/2018 20:28

ALittleBitOfButter That’s the tweet I replied to. I do my shopping online and only when I need stuff. Guess I’m not a woman then. I must have imagined giving birth to two children. It’s a joke 😂

BatShite · 13/01/2018 22:40

I love how India is trying to imply she was disliked because she was trans and the viewers/housemate are transphobic. WHich there have already been 2 transsexual winners on the show

BatShite · 13/01/2018 22:40

When there have...even

QuackPorridgeBacon · 13/01/2018 23:00

She’s a joke lol I hate people that play those types of cards. I will instantly write them off and refuse to engage. Luckily she is a “celeb” so I don’t have to associate with her. I will have a good bitch about them though. They shouldn’t, but they get me so annoyed.

Screepy · 14/01/2018 00:31

Hmmm, yes the viewers are transphobic for disliking India, even though the most popular housemate is gender-fluid Shane/Courtney! Confused

MoKnickers · 14/01/2018 00:39

Shane is gorgeous, articulate and intelligent.

India is plug ugly, thick and unpleasant.

I hope it starts to sink in just how much he’s disliked soon.

This article avoids pronouns so well that it simply has to be intentional.

UrsulaPandress · 14/01/2018 08:48

Rachel Johnson has a piece in the Mail. (I know, sorry).

Totally has India sorted.

Tragic that she thinks straight men will be beating a path to her inverted penis vagina. This is something that trans people don’t think of. I often wonder whether some male to female trans is something some maladjusted gay men want to do to try and widen the pool of men that could date but sadly it doesn’t seem to work

There are transwomen with male partners. There are transwomen without male partners.

But well done for mass generalising there about transwomen. Still this thread is full of people who seem to be experts on transwomen and what transwomen think - and are very quick to generalise.

SlowlyShrinking · 14/01/2018 10:06

Gay men want cocks
Straight men want women
Doesn’t take a genius...

misspetite · 14/01/2018 10:21

Until you've felt period pains ( well most women do) and the anxiety of seeing your breasts grow, don't talk to me about being a woman just because you are wearing a frock.

misspetite · 14/01/2018 10:24

From Bruce Jenner to this person on CBB they are vile. Horrible attitudes.

Battleax · 14/01/2018 10:33

No, Jenner was quite reasonable, at least to start with. She was very clear that she wasn't a "real" woman and had various level headed opinions. The TRA lobby svavagws her for it and she started to toe the party line more.

Battleax · 14/01/2018 10:34

Savaged^

noeffingidea · 14/01/2018 10:43

There are transwomen with male partners. Of course there are, but there are also many gay men with male partners. Which is the bigger dating pool? I would hazard a guess that it is easier to find a male partner as a gay man than as a transwoman.
When it comes to sexual attraction biology matters, and it always will.

sagamartha · 14/01/2018 10:49

Of course. If sexual attraction is all that matters in a relationship.

noeffingidea · 14/01/2018 11:02

It's not all that matters, but it is fundamental. Otherwise it's not what is commonly referred to as a 'relationship'.

SlowlyShrinking · 14/01/2018 11:09

Sexual attraction is very important though. See: all the posts in relationships ‘should I stay with dh? We’re more like brother and sister now. I love him but don’t fancy him anymore. I can’t imagine the rest of my life without sex’
I know it’s not important for everybody, but it is important for lots of people.

sagamartha · 14/01/2018 11:25

It's fundamental to people who see sexual attraction as important in a relatioship. Without wishing to derail, other types of relationships exist. I know we live in a world where it's all about sex, sex is everywhere, adverts, articles, the media etc all talk about sex and relationships but other types of relationships exist where sex and sexual attraction are not important.

Of course, there are transwomen and transmen who are sexually attracted to other people and who do want a sexual relationship. No doubt some of them get disappointed as they find that other people aren't sexually attracted to them - and some find a geniune, happy and yes - a sexual relationship with someone who does find them sexually attractive. The dating pool is no doubt a lot smaller though.

I am sure that this does cross many trans people's minds before they transition.

noeffingidea · 14/01/2018 12:10

It's fundamental to people who see sexual attraction as important in a relationship.
We are talking about sexual relationships here, ie romantic partnerships Most people want to have sex in a sexual relationship, and most people want to be sexually attracted to the people that they have sex with.
Most people are not going to enter into a 'relationship' with someone they are not sexually attracted to, unless there are other factors at play, eg economic circumstances. Increasingly in the UK people are free to choose their partners for their own reasons, and sexual attraction is important.

noeffingidea · 14/01/2018 12:22

Just to add to my above point, if we are talking about straight men then sexual attraction becomes even more important. I just can't imagine any straight man entering into a relationship with anyone they don't really fancy, unless they're up to no good. (cocklodging or something).
