“Why don't you have a nice little lie down under a blanket on the settee.”

That’s exactly where I am right now, watching Suits funnily enough Wink

He’s letting the FA down and he’s their president!

I think the majority of people think sweet FA about it OP Wink

Redcrayons · 15/12/2017 14:34

Well surely they could have the wedding in Windsor then hot foot it down the A40 and have the deception at Wembley. Fantastic autocorrect Grin

jayho · 15/12/2017 14:34

yeah, and the basterd's chosen the day just to take the shine off my daughter's birthday on the Sunday.

UN- believable!

PurpleMinionMummy · 15/12/2017 14:34

Handing over the FA cup is one of William's most important jobs??? Hahahahahaha

Sirzy · 15/12/2017 14:34

Whichever date they pick will probably end up “letting down” someone, the chances of all royals being free on one date is pretty slim really.

I would rather they cancelled on a big event like this than a small charity for who the visit would mean a lot!

PinkJeggings · 15/12/2017 14:35

Ok clearly IABU to think the wedding date should not have been selected as May 19.

I am also clearly BU to think William has a responsibility to his charities and causes.

🤷🏼‍♀️

ShowMePotatoSalad · 15/12/2017 14:35

OP YABU. He is not the only person who could present the trophy. No doubt they will appoint a guest of honour to do it. Whichever team wins will really not care who presents them with the trophy - winning is I'm sure the only thing that will be on their minds.

Clandestino · 15/12/2017 14:35

Are you trolling or this thread for real?
Is Prince William an important player? Will they lose without him? Was he supposed to train or dance with the cheerleaders?
He has a wedding of his brother to attend. They will be more than fine without him.

Ylvamoon · 15/12/2017 14:35

Xmas Grin can't best football v Wedding!!!

caringcarer · 15/12/2017 14:35

Ha Ha, are you seriously suggesting anyone should miss his only siblings wedding to attend a football match and give out a trophy. I am sure the footballers who win won't care who gives them the trophy just as long as they get it.

That poster Kate's mum will be back with another AIBU 'my HRH DD has to go toer DHs brothers wedding with 2 toddlers and a baby whilst he's at the Footie. Should should LTB'

Viviennemary · 15/12/2017 14:36

I think the wedding should have been on a different day. Or better still not take place at all. It will be a disaster. Sorry but it will.

Independentstateofeyebrows · 15/12/2017 14:37

Meh.

Prince William should have honoured his prior commitment
FizzyGreenWater · 15/12/2017 14:38

HURRAH!!!!!!!!!

Someone has, at LAST, found a new thread to start on the topic of Harrymeghan. Oh the relief, it's been hours.

sparechange · 15/12/2017 14:39

Is presenting the cup really the most important part of his job with the FA though?

I would have thought there are much more important ambassadorial aspects to it, and the trophy presenting is just a boring admin part of it

You are massively clutching at straws trying to find a problem here

ShowMePotatoSalad · 15/12/2017 14:39

Also OP you are making assumptions about the agreement between the FA and Prince William. Who is to say he committed to attending all the cup finals and presenting the trophy? I'm pretty sure they would have agreed between them that there may be times when he can't do it.

(Why do I get myself invested in these threads?!)

HappyLabrador · 15/12/2017 14:39

Seriously OP, who gives a shit? It’s not his fault is it? And I doubt the FA Cup final was really on the list of important things to take into consideration when a date for the wedding was being decided.

He’s a Prince, he can do what he likes as far as I’m concerned. But then, I’m a raging Royalist so..

Whizbang · 15/12/2017 14:40

I think you are right too jeggings (about the silly date, not about the pink jeggings!!). Of all the dates available, it is downright stupid to have picked FA cup final date. Whether you enjoy football or not, it is known to be something of a national obsession. In my view picking that date is a big fat FU to many of the little people....you know, the ones who ultimately foot the bill for the royal sponges. I'll definitely be watching the footie!

Sparks46th · 15/12/2017 14:40

With all due respect, I do kind of see the point - the FA Cup Final is probably the biggest thing William does all year, in terms of visibility. It is marginally akin to doing it on the state opening of parliament and the queen having to miss it (so you're not totally bonkers)

Redglitter · 15/12/2017 14:40

I think the wedding should have been on a different day. Or better still not take place at all. It will be a disaster. Sorry but it will

Aren't you a little ray of sunshine 🙄

Flappyears · 15/12/2017 14:40

I love football OP and even I think you’re being ridiculous.

It must be a nightmare scheduling these things. There will be all kinds of considerations for choosing the wedding date you have no idea about.

No one reasonable from either football team would begrudge William the chance of going to his own brother’s wedding. You’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel of reasons to slag off the royal family.

William and Harry have been doing amazing work highlighting the issue of mental health recently. Their charity work has brought comfort and reassurance to millions in terms of increased donations and their personal appearances.

Why not find someone who really does harm and leave these guys alone.

sinceyouask · 15/12/2017 14:41

None of the players, coaches, fans or anyone else will care who hands the bloody cup over Hmm Confused

starfishmummy · 15/12/2017 14:41

Perhaps he's just been asked to the evening party.. ..
