Lolly49 · 15/12/2017 15:13

sister in law got married may 1998 on cup final day.
I did the right thing and went to watch fa cup along with DH went to evening reception.
There is nothing more important than football when it is your club.

Flowerpot1234 · 15/12/2017 15:14

Football match of which you are President or wedding of your brother to an ex-stripper... Hmm

Willow2017 · 15/12/2017 15:15

Just when you think there couldnt possibly be any other reason to have a pop at the young royals you are proved wrong.

Fucking football !!!! Really? Its not a charity nor a 'cause' its football. A bunch if grown men kicking a ball around a field and acting like toddlers at times.

TheNaze73 · 15/12/2017 15:16

They should have done it on a Monday as it’s cheaper

VioletDaze · 15/12/2017 15:16

She is an extremely unpopular choice amongst the British people according to recent polls.

Are you suggesting that the royal family should marry based on popular vote? Maybe on TV, X-Factor style?

You should call Simon Cowell. I'm sure he'd be well up for a new project.

apacketofcrisps · 15/12/2017 15:17

@flowerpot1234 do ex strippers not deserve to get married or something?!?

NotWeavingButDarning · 15/12/2017 15:18

Ha ha ha...this is, erm...completely nuts.

Bloody hell, are you serious? Football isn’t that important surely? Hmm

Lweji · 15/12/2017 15:20

Why is he even FA President?

I give FA to this.

If you believe you saw those words when you read my post, you need your eyes or head testing. Confused

Timelass · 15/12/2017 15:22

FA in my IMHO should change their date

Bettercallsaul1 · 15/12/2017 15:24

Yes, out of all the things Meghan Markle has achieved up till now, you come up with "ex-stripper", Flowerpot. There is no proof of this at all. There is, however, proof of her being successful as an actress, in a very competitive industry; of her being a spokesman on various exemplary causes and of her writing eloquently on these subjects. (Excellent article in Time magazine earlier this year). But you like to demean her as an "ex-stripper".

SilverySurfer · 15/12/2017 15:24

Utterly bonkers but who expects any differently on here these days.

It's really shocking that Prince Harry has chosen to marry the woman he presumably loves. How more reasonable he would have been to hold some sort of reality tv show, with the public voting for the woman they think he should wed. Imagine the excitement each week as one more unworthy potential bride is cruelly evicted. Hmm

Lweji · 15/12/2017 15:26

Timelass

I agree. How else will the FA cup final players watch the wedding?

Dozer · 15/12/2017 15:27

Grin Any BIL would certainly be U to miss his sibling’s wedding to attend an FA cup final!

Football players and managers are the only ones who would not be U

apacketofcrisps · 15/12/2017 15:28

So please explain how you meant "ex-stripper" then @flowerpot1234. As a compliment?

HarrietVane99 · 15/12/2017 15:28

Football isn’t that important surely? hmm

The late, great Bill Shankly would beg to differ. Surprised someone hasn't already quoted himSmile But then he probably wouldn't recognise the game as it is today.

PinkJeggings · 15/12/2017 15:30

I don't get all the Meghan hate. Their engagement interview was very sweet indeed, there may be a slight element of rushing into it but maybe they 'just know'!

OP posts:
PinkJeggings · 15/12/2017 15:31

That is clearly the only sensible way forward @Timelass!

Certainly. As a descriptive adjective of previous occupation. As MM described herself in her previous occupations on her own CV.

Please explain how you saw "ex-strippers shouldn't marry" in my post then apacketofcrisps.

NotAgainYoda · 15/12/2017 15:32

Maybe they should marry at the match. Plenty do. Tres classy

grannytomine · 15/12/2017 15:33

I'd be hard pressed to say which event I'd be less bothered about.

eddiemairswife · 15/12/2017 15:34

He can go to the ceremony, and then go to the match. My best friend and her husband left my reception early to watch Crystal Palace, I wasn't in the least put out.
However, I can visualise some terrible arguments in some households about what to watch.

PricillaQueenOfTheDesert · 15/12/2017 15:34

I don’t know about you OP, but when I booked my wedding, I booked it for myself and my DH, I didn’t ask anyone else what date worked for them.
Had family had holidays, graduations, births or work commitments that really didn’t come into it, as it was MY wedding. If they didn’t want to come that was their choice. For you to suggest that Harry and Meghan arrange their wedding to accommodate William and some footie match is beyond ridiculous!
I’m sure when you’re marrying a royal there are lots of invitations already booked into the diary, so they probably arranged it for a date when the queen or prince Charles didn’t have to let anyone down.
