I can't wait. I'll be able to get round Tesco in record time.

I do so hope Homes Under the Hammer doesn't get shunted this time.

IMightMentionGriddlebone

27th May was a thrill a minute last year, then!

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 15/12/2017 20:23

What a ridiculous thread. Between them, the royal family has a multitude of serious commitments.

Missing a football match isn't one of them, and is able to be missed whereas others can't be.

IMightMentionGriddlebone · 15/12/2017 20:24

Be fair, Valenta: Prince Harry had a visit from Barack Obama!

Butterymuffin · 15/12/2017 20:25

I think most people would see your only brother's wedding as a decent reason for you to miss a regular commitment.

ScreamingValenta · 15/12/2017 20:29

Oops, I missed Obama amid the welter of obscure Very Reverends and Lord Lieutenants!

Iwanttobe8stoneagain · 15/12/2017 20:31

Bloody brilliant date to pick it might even dilute all the shit media frenzy about overpaid wimpish men running round a field chasing a ball in a manner that is usually outclassed by a bunch of labradors in th local dog park!

RemoteControlledChaos · 15/12/2017 20:38

OP are you on glue?

sm40 · 15/12/2017 20:42

Sorry not read the whole thread.
Kate is having a baby end of April early May. I think we would all prefer him to miss the football rather than the birth!
That would also be another big AIBU
My new sil has scheduled her rather fancy wedding for when I'll be I will be in labour.
Or my new sil has made me choose between being at my wife's birth or a trip to the footy.
Actually I bet both of those have been covered at some point!!

Did you?

I'm always serious. Dead serious.
Seriously.

BarbaraofSevillle · 15/12/2017 20:51

Yes we've already had that thread sm, possibly by the same OP, who was fretting that Kate wouldn't be able to find anywhere private to breastfeed and the entire world would be scrutinising the photos to see if she had lost her baby weight.

Of course the wedding is perfectly timed to ensure that Kate looks as tired as possible to not detract from Meghan on her big day Wink.

sm40 · 15/12/2017 21:16

But Kate will look wonderful, her boobs won't be leaking, she'll be back in her size skinny and there won't be tired eyes in sight.
I will feel shit as she will look better than I do 8 years after giving birth!!

Eltonjohnssyrup · 15/12/2017 21:31

Kate is going to look fucking epic. In fact, I think she might borrow Pip's old bridesmaid dress. Because we all know how it ends up working out for the bride when that dress gets worn to a wedding. Wink

PinkJeggings · 15/12/2017 21:48

Don’t know which thread you’re thinking of @BarbaraofSevillle, it’s not mine

How on earth can this be a frustration for you??!!

jayne1976 · 16/12/2017 17:30

The most nutty thread I’ve ever read! It’s a game of football - pleaseee!

jayne1976 · 16/12/2017 17:31

Oh yes, besides the poor Kate won’t be looking her best thread!

Jaygee61 · 16/12/2017 17:44

I agree that having the wedding on FA Cup Final day is a bit inconsiderate. There are two bank holidays in May, they could have had it on one of those.

gingergenius · 16/12/2017 17:46

ODFOD.
Confused

gingergenius · 16/12/2017 17:48

Can only assume the OP is a WAG who can't decide which gig to attend!

SondayMumday · 16/12/2017 17:52

Oh ffs!

Zebra31 · 16/12/2017 18:08

I haven’t read the thread but this is just brilliant. Grin

Can you imagine Megan’s thread on MN?

”AIBU to think my BIL should forgo a football match to be best man at our wedding?”

ringle · 16/12/2017 18:09

It depends if William is playing in the final I think.
