AIBU to judge a man who has had sex with 2,000 people? I normally do not judge the number of people someone has sex with, but this is way over the top.

If course you can judge people for the number of people they sleep with! You can firm opinions or judgments on anyone! You can't discriminate generally by law but you are allowed your own opinions!

I am not saying either extreme is the ideal, all that counts is it works for the individual involved.

I have no interest in judging other people on how they conduct their sex lives (as always with the caveat that it is legal and consensual)

2000 sexual partners is an awful lot IMO.

I simply can't get my head around the logistics of someone who has had sex with that many people. I am struggling to fathom how anyone could manage it. Or why anyone would want that many sexual partners.

And regarding the comment '2000 sexual partners is pretty standard these days;' I am no expert and I don't know everyone else's sexual habits, but I doubt very much that this is true. I bet the vast majority of people have not had sex with even a tenth of that amount.

I remember a similar tale a while back, (in the news,) and someone commented that shagging one partner after another, night after night, (til you are into the multiple 100's,) is really no different to masturbating.

Rightly or wrongly, I wouldn't want to be with someone who had had sex with 2000 people. I am not saying they are awful or nasty or anything like that, as each to their own, but I just couldn't be with someone who had had sex with that many different people. As I said, I really can't get my head round it, at all...... As a few posters have said, it does sound like an exaggerated amount. Can he prove it? Probably not.

I do not know how people have the time for this sort of number. That's a really serious hobby, right there. I bet there are people who read 100s of books a year who spend less time reading that this chap does having it away.

In the 70s/early 80s, one of my best friends was a gay man. Pre-HIV days, why shouldn’t he have as much fun as he wanted? Some things, like his regular prowling of the tow path, I found a bit questionable but that down to my Catholicism and possible lack of understanding of his lifestyle, especially as all his friends did the same whether in longterm relationships or not.

I don’t judge people who have any number of partners, or no partners at all.

I judge people who rape, abuse, and coerce. I judge those who are unfaithful and those who are irresponsible with their own and others’ sexual health. Those who prey on vulnerable people for sex, those who lie to get it, those who brag about getting it, those who make people uncomfortable by talking about sex at inappropriate times and/or in front of inappropriate audiences.
