To think nobody likes sprouts. And anyone who says they do is just doing it for attention

I mean they're horrible. People have tried to help them by adding other things to make them not taste like sprouts, but let's just admit that they were never designed to be eaten. The taste is probably some evolutionary defence mechanism that has inexplicably not worked coz humans are daft enough to eat through the disgusting taste.

Anyone that says they like them is lying to us and themselves and is just looking for attention.

YADNBU

elQuintoConyo · 19/11/2017 22:02

They are farts in solid form.

Whether they have been lightly fried with chestnuts and bacon pieces or not.

Farts. Farts. Farts.

Frouby · 19/11/2017 22:03

I love sprouts. So does dd.

We fight over them. Dd has been known to swipe one from dps plate when he isnt looking.

PlaymobilPirate · 19/11/2017 22:03

Haha - I've just had raw, sliced sprouts as part of a salad for my tea 😁

mercurymaze · 19/11/2017 22:03

I love them had 8 with my dinner today

W1a · 19/11/2017 22:03

I like them fried with bacon and cashew nuts.

outout · 19/11/2017 22:04

I genuinely like sprouts. I do not desire attention for this.

Love them with bacon, chestnuts or just on their own dabbed in English mustard.

GooodMythicalMorning · 19/11/2017 22:04

I love them. Especially with bacon

mercurymaze · 19/11/2017 22:04

Ooh salad sprouts sounds nice

billybagpuss · 19/11/2017 22:04

YABVU Sprouts are just baby cabbages and we have them very regularly from the moment they appear in the shops.

They do have to be cooked properly though, the second they hit overdone they're horrid.

C0untDucku1a · 19/11/2017 22:04

What an odd thing to say! And yes yabu. I love sprouts. As do my children.

DramaAlpaca · 19/11/2017 22:04

I love them, they're delicious. The rest of the family detest them so I only ever have them at Christmas.

AdalindSchade · 19/11/2017 22:04

They taste bloody lovely

Nottheduchessofcambridge · 19/11/2017 22:04

YABU! I had about 10 of them today and ate them first straight away because they are so lovely!

bingolittle · 19/11/2017 22:04

YANBU. It's time we all stopped this nonsense.

If we can do it with smallpox, we can do it with sprouts. In less than 10 years the only surviving sprout plants could be locked safely in a lab somewhere, and the world would be a better place.

User5trillion · 19/11/2017 22:04

My dd5 loves them and gets excited when they come back into season, she begs me to buy them. I havent yet told her she is virtually the only child ever to like them 😂 weird child

FiveGoMadInDorset · 19/11/2017 22:05

Love them , so does DH and so does DS, the first time DS had them for lunch that is all he would eat and then had them cold later on

user1471517900 · 19/11/2017 22:05

W1A - what you've basically said there is "I made bacon and cashew nuts taste worse for no good reason"

gaggiagirl · 19/11/2017 22:05

We had Sprouts with our roast today. Kids loved them. I love them.

theymademejoin · 19/11/2017 22:05

Nigella's recipe with marsala makes them edible. I can manage 2 or 3 with that recipe but yeah, you're right, they're vile.

condepetie · 19/11/2017 22:05

People are the same about cauliflower which is great.

Sprouts are good. You've never had good ones.

Sentimentallentil · 19/11/2017 22:05

I looooooove them, I like them in curry. It’s great when they are all really cheap after Christmas.

But obviously it just sounds like I’m saying that for attention now,

FiveGoMadInDorset · 19/11/2017 22:05

user we buy packets of frozen and stash them away for DS, he is 9 now.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 19/11/2017 22:06

I agree. I can eat them if fried with bacon - but then if you fried anything with bacon it would be edible, I reckon.

My mum still makes me eat them at Christmas dinner.

BusySittingDown · 19/11/2017 22:06

I genuinely do like sprouts. Not attention seeking - I don’t announce it at dinner! They’re on my plate, I eat them, end of.

I also like broccoli and cabbage. Yes, the DC think I am weird.
