Admittedly, I am an (ex Catholic) atheist but are there any Christians on here who also found it funny?

OP posts:
McDougal · 15/11/2017 18:35

Not Christian but I did find it very amusing. The headlines were priceless Grin

I am very sorry in advance for any Christians out there who may be offended by me finding it amusing Confused

Balfe · 15/11/2017 18:35

Catholic here who chuckled. Genuinely don't know who these people are that bother complaining about things like this.

MeadowHay · 15/11/2017 18:40

I thought it was funny too but I'm not Christian nor I was raised Christian so my viewpoint is irrelevant really anyway. Having said that, have been talking to Christian family members/friends & family/friends who are not Christian but were raised as such and they all think it's funny as well. Am going to follow this as I'm interested to see if anyone here feels differently?

liquidrevolution · 15/11/2017 18:41

Wonder what the complainers would have made of our nativity last year?

pennysnow · 15/11/2017 18:45

Yep I thought it was quite funny TBH, and I wasn't really offended, but I do wonder if they would take the piss out of any other religion like this.. EG, Islam. Wink

There would have been a major shitstorm if it had been any other religion.

Do get a bit tired of Christianity being poked fun at.

As I said, why do they not do it to any other religion?

pennysnow · 15/11/2017 18:47

Yeah I know it's Christmas and that's why they are doing it to the Nativity! However, my point is that people who 'mock' religion only ever do it to Christianity IYSWIM.

Mishappening · 15/11/2017 18:50

In a free country anything should be open to mockery. The fact that all religions are not is a worry.

I should think that any supreme being could rise above a sausage roll.

uncoolnn · 15/11/2017 18:50

No. It’s hilarious.

NamasteNiki · 15/11/2017 18:51

Link please?!

bimbobaggins · 15/11/2017 18:51

I thought it was hilarious but can understand why some may not

MycatsaPirate · 15/11/2017 18:51

Yanbu.

A friend posted the link to this story earlier and I found it extremely amusing.

MadMags · 15/11/2017 18:52

I think there’d be uproar if it was another religion being mocked at a time of importance to it.

But I’m lapsed catholic and laughed!

FuzzyCustard · 15/11/2017 18:52

I think it would have been funnier if the Three Wise Men had given baby Jesus a selection of baked goods as presents.

Phosphorus · 15/11/2017 18:53

I thought it was Jewish people they were apologising to?

The whole Jesus was Jewish/pork thing.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 15/11/2017 18:53

That is funny. Dont get the outrage. Same as the outrage over the muslim family in the tesco advert.

MycatsaPirate · 15/11/2017 18:53

If you say Jesus backwards......

DDsSecondXmas · 15/11/2017 18:55

Post a pic

AmeliaFlashtart · 15/11/2017 18:55

Lol

tehmina23 · 15/11/2017 18:55

Sooo hilarious hehe

Mooncuplanding · 15/11/2017 18:56

It was a stroke of genius

I shall be eating Greggs sausage rolls all the more

DDsSecondXmas · 15/11/2017 18:57

Ok, yeah... Didn't make me laugh. I'm an atheist btw

PurpleDaisies · 15/11/2017 18:58

I love the survey question on the Telegraph site “was it acceptable to replace Jesus with a sausage roll?”

I’m a Christian. My main problem with this is they should have used a smaller sausage roll. The scale is off. This story really made me chuckle.

My favourite nativity scene is the one with the Henry hoovers.

CoraPirbright · 15/11/2017 18:59

Don’t really darken the doors of our local church more than once or twice a year but try to follow Christian values/be a good person. Just heard this on the news and roared with laughter. Didn’t occur to me that perhaps Jewish people would be offended with the whole pork thing so I am sorry for that aspect. But no, thought it was really funny!
