Yes he's a violent idiot but bloody hell, 40years just seems a bit harsh for someone who.is probably more mad than bad.......when you consider a man who raped and murdered two children is being released and will serve less time than a man who's never really been given a chance it all sounds a bit ridiculous.

Raising hundreds of thousands for charity is probably dwarfed somewhat by the costs of keeping him in high security prison for decades, as well as treating the injuries of his victims, investigation of his crimes and court costs etc etc etc.

From your example OP I don’t think that he should be released earlier, IMO the person who committed the rape and murder should be sentenced longer

I've just googled his 'art'. I think I'd keep him in prison for that alone

I nearly choked on my coffee at that! His art (I hesitate calling it that...) plumbs the depths of a dark and twisted mind..

So let's fight to release a man who can't keep his temper in check and gets extremely violent to the point of killing someone on the whim?
Is that petition and this thread some kind of a sick joke? I can't imagine the twisted mind of people defending him.

I wrote to him once (I was very, very young) and he replied. He sent me some of his art work and was very charming. I had to keep reminding myself what he’d done. We wrote back and forth for a while and then he got bored of me 😂

I agree OP. There are people who have committed far worse crimes who have been sentenced to a lot less.
