1. Dog in basket, brought to dining room , basket placed on chair, dog given own plate of breakfast buffet and fed by hand This will not work if dog is bigger than a yorkie.

1. dog in car. for this to work car must be parked in front of dining room window so that you are aware of all the fuss before you go storming out effing and blinding that the dog is fine....

1. dog in room, left alone to own devices until discovered by chambermaid having ripped soft furnishings to shreds.
