You've been pigged?

Aibu to think you wouldn't share this story with the papers?

Read it on The Mail so I won't link but basically British girl meets Dutch guy in Barcelona. He spends the next 3/4 months calling her and asking her to come over to Amsterdam.

She does and then he never shows up at the airport and texts her to say "you've been pigged"

Basically means pulling an ugly girl to then dump her.

He denies it but even if he did do aibu to think you would never tell this story to the world?

The "text" they are showing in the papers is not real, it has "how the message looked by it" for any idiots who are thinking what the sun shoves in its paper is genuine.

Coconutspongexo · 10/10/2017 09:03

It's convinient that all the messages were on Snapchat where they don't save unless you save them yourself and the other person knows if you've done this. If I was meeting someone abroad I'd save every message incase I forgot any details!

maxthemartian · 10/10/2017 09:10

The text message screen shots were a mock-up of what she said was said. There are no actual text messages.

yelpforhelp · 10/10/2017 09:19

I'm not convinced it's all as it seems. Only 1 photo where they look awkward and not connected at all and her reaction to his message seems a bit off somehow.
But I don't think it's likely she's dreamt this whole thing out of nowhere. I bet they did sleep together and she did want/think they were in some sort of relationship and he dumped her harshly. Otherwise I just can't see why she would go to all this effort

Coconutspongexo · 10/10/2017 09:24

The reaction to the message seems off because it wasn't a real text.

Aeroflotgirl · 10/10/2017 09:32

Good for her, he deserved it! Op why don't you believe it's true?

ducknose · 10/10/2017 09:41

I can't put my finger on it but I can't help but think it's misogynistic on a deep seated, unconscious level to think that she shouldn't speak out, presumably as she should be too ashamed.
It takes a certain kind of sadist to do this to somebody, the man rightfully has been unmasked for what he is.

diddl · 10/10/2017 10:04

I can't help thinking along the lines of yelp.

According to mail online today, he has admitted a ons.

Creambun2 · 10/10/2017 10:13

I think they had a ons and thst was it for him. I think she thought it was a relationship and was hence upset when realising it wasnt. I suspect any texts were more like him being horrified that she has turned up in his country.

diddl · 10/10/2017 10:18

It's the odd wording that she felt they had a "proper romance".

That makes me feel that she read to much into it or may have turned up in Holland uninvited.

Birdsgottafly · 10/10/2017 10:35

I read the original story, a while back and it did seem as though he was only denying it when her Dad wanted help to track him down, so he could confront him.

Her Dad is still in the papers asking to meet him face-to-face.

If it did happen then good for her going to the papers. Women are experiencing this and it shouldn't be hidden, so it can be denied.

I've been a victim of 'pig dancing', because I'd put on weight. They men who thought it was hysterical were all the type that probably don't pull. They wasn't even clean and tidy, let alone attractive. I was grabbed, literally, going the toilet.

My then DP dragged him out and broke his nose, his mates appologised. If anyone says violence doesn't solve anything, sometimes it does, because until this is recognised as an offence against the person, it won't stop.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/10/2017 10:39

Birds. A typical example of him shitting himself when confronted by a man

Coconutspongexo · 10/10/2017 10:41

Violence doesn't solve anything Confused your DP is a bit of a dick birds for doing that, couldn't he have spoke to him instead?

MadMags · 10/10/2017 10:44

My then DP dragged him out and broke his nose, his mates appologised.

Classy. I'm so impressed by how hard your dp is. Hmm

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/10/2017 10:50

Well let's put in this way. I bet the arse hole never mocked women or made them feel like shit again.

MadMags · 10/10/2017 10:53

I'll bet he did.

You can't beat misogyny out of people.

guilty100 · 10/10/2017 11:07

To state the obvious, I don't think any of us can determine how true or false this is. We are not lawyers or the journalists reporting this. Given that one of the parties has lawyered up now in order to challenge parts of the story, it strikes me that random speculation is unhelpful and possibly verging on libel?

MargaretTwatyer · 10/10/2017 11:09

I believe her. He denied the whole thing then later admitted to shagging her.

Her parents say that he was calling her for weeks before the trip to Amsterdam and I can't really see her folks being in on it.

SoupDragon · 10/10/2017 11:11

I don't doubt for one moment that this happens.

I'm just not convinced that it happened this time.

TatianaLarina · 10/10/2017 11:14

I don’t doubt they shagged and he was in touch with her. But without evidence from messages and pics of them together, we’ve no idea what happened.

MargaretTwatyer · 10/10/2017 11:16

He's admitted they snagged.

TatianaLarina · 10/10/2017 11:20

I know.

SoupDragon · 10/10/2017 11:22

Her parents say that he was calling her for weeks before the trip to Amsterdam and I can't really see her folks being in on it.

How would the young know though? My eldest is 18 and I have no idea who calls him or how often.

pisacake · 10/10/2017 11:22

There are all kinds of gradations on what might have happened, between 'you disgusting pig, hahahaha' to none of it happened at all.

It's possible she WAS stood up without the oink oink oink stuff ever happening.

It's also possible she just turned up unannounced to surprise him.

It's also possible she never even went to Amsterdam.

Coconutspongexo · 10/10/2017 11:23

I don't get why there isn't an actual screenshot of the messages especially the one they've decided to mock up?
