You've been pigged?

Aibu to think you wouldn't share this story with the papers?

Read it on The Mail so I won't link but basically British girl meets Dutch guy in Barcelona. He spends the next 3/4 months calling her and asking her to come over to Amsterdam.

She does and then he never shows up at the airport and texts her to say "you've been pigged"

Basically means pulling an ugly girl to then dump her.

He denies it but even if he did do aibu to think you would never tell this story to the world?

What an utterly vile, disgusting thing to do to another human being. Do people really do this? Get enjoyment out of humiliating and destroying a person?

Thankfully I'm too old now, but if this had happened to me as a young woman I think I'd have killed myself. Absolutely terrible behaviour.

NikiBabe · 09/10/2017 21:44

Meh.

People can be cunts.

I would have replied, no actually the trash took itself out. And then enjoyed the trip.

I wouldnt have arranged to meet a guy I barely knew though abroad.

KungFuEric · 09/10/2017 21:45

I haven't read the story, he dos she no hav any proof of screenshots?

Italiangreyhound · 09/10/2017 21:45

It's good she shared it if it helps other women to think twice about morons they meet on holiday.

Next time a women gets invited to an exotic location maybe she will say, meet me at the Heathrow!

fullofhope03 · 09/10/2017 21:45

I saw this on Yahoo this evening and was appalled. Personally I wouldn't have gone public with it - (Would have added to the whole mortification), however he should be shown for the PIG that he is. URGH Angry Sad

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/10/2017 21:45

I'd be embarrassed if I was his mother. Infact, I'd be ashamed to say.
It was my son

pisacake · 09/10/2017 21:46

not a shred of proof for the story, just a random picture of two couples on holiday in Spain and her claiming she led him on for months calling her every day and then texted him when she landed in Amsterdam saying she was a pig

for my money the story is a total pack of lies sold to make some cash

it didn't fucking happen

3EyedRaven · 09/10/2017 21:47

From what I read, the ‘you’ve been pigged’ was sent on snapchat, then she was blocked.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/10/2017 21:47

Just seen her picture. She's beautiful.
I just hope she knows this and does not let this cunt become the most important thing her life.
She's very brave.

Timefortea99 · 09/10/2017 21:48

I saw that story. They were in Barcelona during the recent terrorist incident and it threw them together. She thought they had fell in love, they slept together, he wanted a long distance relationship. She lives in UK, he is Dutch. He kept encouraging her to fly out and up until she arrived, including when she was going to airport to get the plane to fly out, he was texting her saying he could not wait. They were always calling each other. But when she landed he texted her to say she had been pigged, it was all a joke, who could pull the ugliest girl and dupe her. Then he blocked her.

She is understandably devastated. Not only did the romance she thought she was having come to nothing, she was humiliated by a cruel little shit so that his mates can have a laugh. Imagine what that would do to your self esteem, and how would you trust any other man.

I think telling her story was brave of her. But she has done womankind a favour so that you wouldn't go near him with a barge pole. And unless he changes his name future employers etc might give him a swerve. He has already faced a backlash in his own country - and he has deleted his social media.

On balance I think I would have done the same. He needed to be called to account and what seemed like such a laugh will haunt him for years.

fullofhope03 · 09/10/2017 21:49

I too would have been close to this JumpingJellybeanz Sad
Never knew this was a 'thing'. What an apology of a 'man'. Angry

TatianaLarina · 09/10/2017 21:49

Normally I believe women when they accuse men of being arses, but I’m not sure about this one.

TatianaLarina · 09/10/2017 21:50

Mind you I didn’t believe the story about rhe woman who got trapped trying to fling her poo either.

BarbarianMum · 09/10/2017 21:50

Not sure I'd have the guts to expose him myself but I really admire people who speak out like this. Good for her.

fullofhope03 · 09/10/2017 21:51

And yes, she is beautiful AND brave.

Whisky2014 · 09/10/2017 21:51

I'd name and shame the arsehole.

Creambun2 · 09/10/2017 21:52

where is the evidence that this actually happened? Seems typical DM bullshit to me, including the charming comments from the mother about stringing the bastard up.

SoPassRemarkable · 09/10/2017 21:55

I believe her. I can believe a bloke could do this.

pisacake · 09/10/2017 21:55

story came originally from The Sun, and has a 'sell us your story, we pay ££££' link at the bottom

KrytensNanobots · 09/10/2017 21:56

it didn't fucking happen

You know that how exactly? Were you there? Or just spouting off?
Good on her for calling him out on it if it did happen. My friend had some shit she got together with start laughing at her over Twitter and all the mates (and him) piled in with "pulled a pig" type comments.
It drastically knocked her confidence and pretty much devastated her.
If it did happen (which it could quite easily have done) good on her for not being too upset and calling him out on being a twat.
Shouldn't have to put up with that type of shit, it's about time it started getting called out on.

DeleteOrDecay · 09/10/2017 21:56

Similar happened to me at school (left 10 years ago). Boys used to ask me out for a joke and then if I accepted they’d dump me shortly afterHmm I learnt after the first time but it was humiliating at that age, can’t imagine what she must feel like.

I believe her, I don’t see a reason not to.

TatianaLarina · 09/10/2017 21:57

I can well believe a bloke could do this and far far worse, I’m not sure there’s much evidence that he did though.

NoLoveofMine · 09/10/2017 22:12

She's 24 so clearly not a "girl". Disbelieving of women is tiresome. It's abhorrent and misogynistic; the very notion of this going on is, in fact, and it's not the first example of it which has been reported in the media. Shows how women and girls are viewed by so many.

KERALA1 · 09/10/2017 22:14

And women get accused of being "bitchy". Ime men are way way crueller

pisacake · 09/10/2017 22:16

"You know that how exactly? Were you there? Or just spouting off?"

Because there's absolutely zero evidence that it did happen?
