To be annoyed at this feminist

I happily call myself a feminist and will enter into discussions about it freely in real life and online. I got into one conversation about appearance and politics and how you rationalise body hair removal with feminism. I said I simply feel unclean, it's nothing to do with politics or being oppressed if I don't remove armpit and leg hair I feel like I need a wash.

Cue me being told that I clearly missed the memo on western socialization and oppression and that me removing body hair to feel clean wouldn't happen if I hadn't been socialised to feel this way erm no love I feel like I need a ruddy good wash if I don't shave I'm not oppressed....

In other news I trimmed my armpit hair this morning

I've honestly been so much happier since I stopped chasing even the most basic of 'beauty ideals'.

Now the only thing that really gets to me is the almost impossibility of finding sanpro that doesn't smell of air freshener.

Get mooncupping Business founded and run by women! Definitely no air freshener. Also, cloth pads.

I can't use mooncups or cloth pads, but I rely on Always Infinity since they're so absorbent and don't cause chafing like the others (my periods are super long and heavy and the regular pads take my skin right off after four or five days)

Oh how I wish I had body hair. Apart from good head or hair it's disappeared everywhere else. Suppose it saves on shaving!
