To ask what Myers Briggs type you are?

Did this on a course today. I am ISFJ and I was totally freaked out by the profile. It isn't sort of like me. It IS me. It's like somebody sat on my shoulder for a year and then described me. Anybody else had this?

OP posts:
Yika · 23/08/2017 23:15

It's very cool when a description fits perfectly, you really understand yourself better. I wouldn't say I exactly fit the type I came out as; only some of the elements like I was practically off the J/P scale (as a P). Even that much is interesting to have confirmed as a type.

steff13 · 23/08/2017 23:17

I thought that test had been largely debunked.

ChinkChink · 23/08/2017 23:18

INTJ

It was scarily accurate.

ENFJ - The Protagonist. So I'm told by an online quizz anyway.

RedBullBlood · 23/08/2017 23:20

Of course it's like you, you're are giving them the answers!

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 23/08/2017 23:21

ENTP - very accurate for me!

Ofthread · 23/08/2017 23:22

I'm INTJ, apparently rare amongst women. Yes I think the test is pretty flawed but ok for a bit of fun.

ilovesooty · 23/08/2017 23:22

ENFP - very accurate.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/08/2017 23:22

INTP. Very accurate. I am an extreme P.

BertrandRussell · 23/08/2017 23:22

You do know it's been discredited, don't you? It's utter, utter bollocks.

steff13 · 23/08/2017 23:23

The mother and daughter who developed it had no psychological training at all.

Sweetheart1313 · 23/08/2017 23:23

Love Myers-Briggs! I'm an ISTJ, describes me perfectly. If you get a chance, Myers Briggs Step II is really interesting. It breaks down even more, so you might find that for some aspects, you flip the other way.

Bosabosa · 23/08/2017 23:24

Entp . Have taken it regularly over 20 years and I get something out of it each time. Have you done step 2 at all? Even more scarily accurate-breaks down each letter into 5 separate sub categories and measures you in each one. Very cool. So you can be a 'time-sensitive estp' (not quite the right phrase but it's late). So shows where you are not typical of your general preference. I really like Myers-Biggs, fascinating

PollyFlint · 23/08/2017 23:24

I'm INTP.

According to the stats the course facilitator gave us when we had the analysis at work, fewer than 1% of women are INTPs, so apparently I'm some sort of freak. The INTP profile was uncannily accurate for me though; I was absolutely blown away by how spot-on it was.

Sparklingbrook · 23/08/2017 23:24

I was the same as you OP. It is pretty accurate especially the 'turbulent' bit. Grin

Bosabosa · 23/08/2017 23:24

Cross post!

Ofthread · 23/08/2017 23:24

Snap @chinkchink ! Apparently we are rare, only 0.8% of the population for women, assuming you are a woman. The diagnosis is pretty accurate for me.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/08/2017 23:25

INFJ

There's loads of us on here. Obviously being so deeply introverted we don't talk to each other.

It's a bit like Fight Club Grin

ShovingLeopard · 23/08/2017 23:25

ENFP

ButFirstTea · 23/08/2017 23:27

Very strong INFP. Debunked or not it's wildly accurate to my learning/working styles. I did step 1 and 2 in my previous job and it helped me and my line manager massively, it meant we understood each other's approaches to work much better.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 23/08/2017 23:27

Another 1%er. INTP.

ChinkChink · 23/08/2017 23:28

high fives ofthread

We rock.

God that was embarrassing. slinks away

Gingernaut · 23/08/2017 23:28

I routinely come out as ISTJ. Confused

SaucyJack · 23/08/2017 23:28

Another INTP here.

I suspect we'll be well represented on here. We are the type to spend large amounts of time on the internet arguing the toss.
