About shagging a funeral director?

Online dating and I'm matched with a really nice man. I find him attractive, conversation is good, it's all going well ... until I find out that he is a funeral director Shock
I had to stop then. He touches dead people all day!
I know some people must shag funeral directors (unless they are all consequentially celibate??) but I don't think I could bring myself to go near one with a barge pole! AIBU?

Yes

mamalovesmojitos · 21/07/2017 14:47

YANBU I couldn't date one either!

TeaCake5 · 21/07/2017 14:47

Lets face it he won't ever be out of work.

Salmotrutta · 21/07/2017 14:48

So you wouldn't date a nurse or forensic pathologist either then?

Both of whome perform offices for the dead.

Sexykittenhells · 21/07/2017 14:48

I'm sure he doesn't wear gloves and doesn't wash his hands etc

How would you feel about a chef handling raw meat all day?

Having said that I do actually see where you're coming from!

PortiaCastis · 21/07/2017 14:48

Yes

Salmotrutta · 21/07/2017 14:48

whom!

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 21/07/2017 14:48

If he's quite high up in his firm, presumably other people get up close and personal with the dead? Go for it.

Waffles80 · 21/07/2017 14:48

Gosh. I imagine he won't want to date someone with such a low IQ.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 21/07/2017 14:49

To clarify I didn't mean you should shag him if you dont want to but i find it odd the reason why

MrsOverTheRoad · 21/07/2017 14:49

He won't be touching them if he's an actual funeral director.

Salmotrutta · 21/07/2017 14:49

Oh and I forgot - yes, YABU

MidnightVelvetthe7th · 21/07/2017 14:49

What?! Presumably he washes his hands, I wouldn't have a problem with a funeral director any more than with a butcher or a fisherman. Plus isn't it embalmers who have more contact with the actual corpse, a funeral director is more about the actual organising of a funeral than the bodily fluids I'd have thought...

I'd do a funeral director OP, but then I'm not delicate Grin Grin

QuiteChic · 21/07/2017 14:49

Yes. I've known two lovely men who where funeral directors, they are by nature, compassionate and kind and honest. They deal with people at their most vulnerable. How shallow.

VladmirsPoutine · 21/07/2017 14:50

It is always ok and 'allowed' to stop dating someone or refuse to continue dating them for whatever reason. Because he might tuck his trousers into his socks or because he uses a spoon to drink tea or whatever. You don't owe someone a 'date.'

It might however be a loss to you because he could have been a perfect match but that doesn't matter. It's always your prerogative.

FrogsSitonLogs · 21/07/2017 14:51

Yes totally being unreasonable. Grow up.

PennyDreadfull · 21/07/2017 14:51

Wouldn't bother me at all

Redsippycup · 21/07/2017 14:53

My mate empties septic tanks for a living.

Another spends her days with her arm up cows' arses.

Not everyone works in a clean, tidy job. If no one did their jobs we would have shit-to-eyes and no milk.

YABU.

SelfObsessionHoney · 21/07/2017 14:55

Wouldn't bother me. But then I'm a HCP.
Most of the funeral directors have been compassionate, thoughtful men. Also the ones who ran a family business were usually minted.

PurpleMinionMummy · 21/07/2017 14:57

Got to be better than dating a gynaecologist? Grin

RhubardGin · 21/07/2017 14:57

Lots of professions deal with dead people.

What about doctors or nurses who touch sick people all day, or people who work in a morgue, or pathologists?

ChickenChica · 21/07/2017 14:59

If he's a funeral director then he will be running the business side of things and not physically touching dead people. If it's his business he's likely to be financially solvent.....never a bad thing.

Moanyoldcow · 21/07/2017 14:59

I know one very well - he and his wife are awesome. Go for it.

WrittenandGrown · 21/07/2017 14:59

Wouldn't bother me. I am sure he wears gloves.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 21/07/2017 15:00

Don't got near a police officer for gods sake. All the vomit, faeces, blood, urine, drugs, road dirt, broken glass etc they deal with on a regular basis? Urg.

YABU.
