Seriously, wtaf is this photo about? She's dressed up like a hawaiian barbie doll, and is holding those poor twins with such an air of detachment, it's actually freaky. I actually think she's gone mad. Sir Carter and Rumi ........... those kids are gonna love those names when they're in school Hmm

Nouvea Riche means new wealth and is used very tongue in cheek for wealthy people that are seen as having little class or breeding.
I did mean the thread to be very light-hearted. I just rolled my eyes when I saw the photo but hey, she could be a trend setter and lots of photos of newborns will now involve mum naked outside in a skimpy negligee and dad trimming the hedge a bit quick and covering it in flowers.
Hmm

Absolute twat. Used to quite like her but lost respect when she went on tour about 5 minutes after having her first kid. Strapped for cash, Bey? Hmm Also agree the (probably airbrushed) photo - sets stupidly unrealistic standards for women who have just given birth.

abilockhart · 15/07/2017 22:55

Nouveau riche (not Nouvea Riche) means those whose wealth has been acquired within their own generation, rather than by familial inheritance.

JaneJeffer · 15/07/2017 22:58

Stick your beige shoes up your arse alright Beyoncé, chill out

aintnobodygottimeforthis · 15/07/2017 23:05

IWouldLikeToSeeTheseMangoes - Would you judge any other woman for her choice of when to return to work after they've had a child?

But aside from that Blue Ivy was born in Jan 2012.

She did four shows in May 2012 in Atlantic City - which would obvs have needed a month or so of rehearsals

Then The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour started in April 2013 - with rehearsals beforehand

IWouldLikeToSeeTheseMangoes · 15/07/2017 23:14

aintnobody I don't know the specific ins and outs of her life as well as you do. My "about five minutes" comment was clearly an exaggeration. My point wasn't in relation to all other working mothers it was regarding a celebrity who is loaded and I don't understand the urgent need to go back to work seeing as she wasn't exactly short of a few bob. So yeah I think 3 months after having a baby if you're counting the at least so at least a month of rehearsals thing is a little odd.

aintnobodygottimeforthis · 15/07/2017 23:21

Well, I just googled it after your comment tbh.

Work means a lot more than money to a lot of people, whatever their financial status.

Surely her public profile shouldn't deprive her of the right to choose?

VladmirsPoutine · 15/07/2017 23:24

Considering she's black I'm not surprised at all the back lash. It seems to be unacceptable to be black and successful.

derxa · 15/07/2017 23:24

God love her... Grin

BrainSaysNo · 15/07/2017 23:26

With regards to the Sir Carter Carter questions.
I thought Jay Z had taken Beyonce's name after marriage.
So they baby is Sir Carter Knowles.

BearFoxBear · 15/07/2017 23:28

She's an absolute tit. In fact, my tits are embarrassed by her.

aintnobodygottimeforthis · 15/07/2017 23:29

Nah, it's Sir and Rumi Carter.

nancy75 · 15/07/2017 23:30

VladmirsPoutine my thoughts on the picture have nothing to do with the colour of her skin, Adele or any other white woman would look equally as ridiculous in that get up.
As for the people saying she's becoming high art, does anyone remember the story of the Emperor's New Clothes...

Teddy1970 · 15/07/2017 23:31

It looks to me like she's not holding those babies but I can't make out how she's doing it IYSWIM...

BoneyBackJefferson · 15/07/2017 23:32

VladmirsPoutine

You do know that people can dislike what people do and it not be about the colour of their skin.

BrainSaysNo · 15/07/2017 23:34

Ahh cheers aintnobodygottimeforthis

quencher · 15/07/2017 23:47

It looks to me like she's not holding those babies but I can't make out how she's doing it IYSWIM...the right hand is holding the bottom baby. (She has holding a red thing)

The left hand is holding the top baby. Closer look, you can see her finger and nail closer to the babies head. Different skin tone to the baby.

IWouldLikeToSeeTheseMangoes · 15/07/2017 23:47

aintnobody i never said her public profile denied her the right to choose just that I personally found it a little weird that if you're in a comfortable (understatement) financial position I don't really understand the rush. Likewise my non-public profile shouldn't deny me the right to have that opinion. Just think it'd be nice if she perhaps had spent a couple months longer with her babies rather than mainly from what I've seen using them as props/accessories in stupid as fuck elaborate photo shoots.

Teddy1970 · 15/07/2017 23:50

Thanks quencher it's such a busy photo, I couldn't work it out!

aintnobodygottimeforthis · 15/07/2017 23:58

Well, it's really common for women to return to work and find that they have lost status, are not up on industry developments and have been ursurped in the workplace.

Beyonce isn't immune to that - she earnt it that crown over many many years- it wasn't a coronation by any means - and she needs to work hard to maintain her status - so many contenders lining up behind her.

tabbymog · 15/07/2017 23:59

I saw that photo today online, alongside a picture of Botticell's The Birth of Venus but if it's meant to be an allusion, it's pretty remote, it certainly didn't make the connection for me.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 16/07/2017 00:09

I couldn't actually make out either of the babies in there, just another narcissistic photo shoot of her in a curtain. Oh here's my babies first photo, yeah right! Get over yourself love.

quencher · 16/07/2017 00:09

Some one like Beyoncé has to constantly keep her self in the media. The difference between her and Adele is that one sells more than just music. Media attention is key. However, she is letting the media scramble for info on her while the others practically give it way.

Beyonce is a walking advert.

It's not a coincidence that she chooses Instagram, offering presence with no words unless she wants too.

Having a break for women in the industry she is in is a no, no if she wants to stay relevant. A lot of them fall of. It's also, a lot harder once they hit thirty while the men are accepted for maturing and can get bigger and bigger.
