Seriously, wtaf is this photo about? She's dressed up like a hawaiian barbie doll, and is holding those poor twins with such an air of detachment, it's actually freaky. I actually think she's gone mad. Sir Carter and Rumi ........... those kids are gonna love those names when they're in school Hmm

nearly her lying down makes a lot more sense, especially the way the babies are lying.

I don't know why anyone's reading too much into it or getting too het up about it. It's Beyonce. She has stage managed every aspect of her life since she was a teenager. Everything is a front. That's part of what makes her fun.

HattiesBackpack · 15/07/2017 18:55

Oh, I actually like the style of the photo (and the pregnancy one) I thought the style and colours used were an homage to ancient goddess/queen imagery and I wonder if Beyoncé has chosen not to gaze at her children as this would be compared to 'madonna and child' imagery.

amousehaseatenmypaddlingpool · 15/07/2017 18:57

I think a David LaChapelle coffee table book and being allowed to take home the gas and air has a lot to do with it!

If you look at it in relation to a lot of his work, it's not exactly cutting edge.

2CatShapurr · 15/07/2017 19:33

Poor Beyoncé, she got her body back after having the twins but the "pregnancy swollen lips" haven't deflated yet. It's almost as if actually did get the lip fillers that she got her publicist to strenuously and patronisingly deny she'd had Hmm

Sweetpeasweatpoo · 15/07/2017 19:46

I thought it was Rumi Knowles and Sir Carter Knowles. There is speculation Jay Z took Beyoncè's name.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 15/07/2017 19:50

It's not by David LaChapelle it's by Awol Erizku, a respected contemporary artist (also took the pg one). It's referring to the artistic canon and also references cultural themes such as motherhood/race (I guess). It's hasn't just been thrown together by some pr hack, it's a work of art.
I don't follow Beyoncé or her life but the photographs have been discussed on Front Row and written about by respected journalists and critics. She's moving into the echelons of high art, like it or not.
Some actual information about the first photo here.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 15/07/2017 19:52

That's an interesting comment about the name Fergus.

*""She could still have done a shoot but a lovely natural one with lots of white voile and natural light...""

Similar to the ones of the Virgin Mary, or other saints?

All nice and white. Beyonce's two photo shoots have recreated African (and other minority cultures) paintings. Mainly those of Goddesses and Queens. It's artwork that has been 'lost'/forgotten/overlooked because it isn't White/Christian/Catholic.

Apart from her showcasing her 'roots', as such, if you look at how she is trolled online (and in RL) by Racists and White Supremacy groups, then you'd probably understand it more.

As well as flowers always being used in celebrations, so have the colours that she has picked.

likewise there is good reason why, now that there isn't segregation, open lynchings etc and there is a recognition of how wrong Slavery was, that African Americans aren't picking baby names that would get MN approval.*

I think its a gorgeous photo
. Very Renaissance.

DesperatelySeekingSushi · 15/07/2017 20:09

Ah you can't knock Bey, she is a goddess. Goddess I tell ya!
She missed a trick though....she really should have called them Kimmy and Titus. Wink

Katherine2626 · 15/07/2017 20:20

The babies looks as if they are stacked on top of each other in order to not spoil the look of her outfit (?) I'm also not impressed by the half closed eyes look at the camera - wouldn't looking at her twins be more appropriate? Just a thought!

GoingSlightlyCrazy09 · 15/07/2017 20:22

According to the DM it was actually a man's piece of clothing she was wearing and she ordered it before she got pregnant. Who would have guessed Grin

Love this and it's not photo-shopped and was taken by her six year old.

MaisyPops · 15/07/2017 20:49

I like her, but this photo is so trashy and z list celebrity has been.

Urubu · 15/07/2017 20:57

She's making all the mums from my twins club laugh at the moment Grin we are thinking of having a contest of the best "real life" version of this pic

Buthewasstillhungry · 15/07/2017 20:59

I think it's a beautiful photo.

coconuttella · 15/07/2017 21:10

Very strange thing to get worked up about.

BoneyBackJefferson · 15/07/2017 21:33

SunnyTunny
I think the thing that bothers me most about the picture (agree that the styling is a continuation of a theme) is just the absence of Blue Ivy! It would have been nice to include her.

I thought the same but them the cynic in me thought about the rumours about blue.

RiversDisguise · 15/07/2017 22:19

I can't stand Beyonce type shite music but I think this is a terrific picture.

YTho · 15/07/2017 22:23

I think she definitely has lost the plot when it comes to pregnancy and baby photoshoots

RiversDisguise · 15/07/2017 22:24

Rumours about blue

Who the fuck gossips about little blameless 5 year old girls? Who is that sad?

oohloolalaa · 15/07/2017 22:28

Honestly the things people care about are ridiculous. Get a life! Beyonce can get half naked in front of a hedge with unusually named newborns if she wants to. I might one day if I feel like it! & what he hell is 'nouveau riche'?! What a load of bollocks. I expect this term comes from someone who looks 'groomed' doesn't it. Stick your beige shoes up your arse

amousehaseatenmypaddlingpool · 15/07/2017 22:36

AGoddess

David LaChapelle IS high art and I know it isn't by him.

I'm saying that it looks like LaChapelle. That's not a bad thing. My point is that the photo isn't completely out there, it's been influenced by all sorts of things, LaChapelle being one of them.
