Seriously, wtaf is this photo about? She's dressed up like a hawaiian barbie doll, and is holding those poor twins with such an air of detachment, it's actually freaky. I actually think she's gone mad. Sir Carter and Rumi ........... those kids are gonna love those names when they're in school Hmm

When I read about Beyoncé, she is obtain described by labels like Queen, Goddess, Mega-star etc so the posing like a statue is to fit into that "perfect" image that her fans want to see.

DownWithThisSortaThing · 14/07/2017 12:10

I don't get the comments about her stomach either, on the photo you can only see a tiny portion of it, the twins were born a month ago not yesterday, some women really do snap back to almost normal quickly after birth, even with twins.
Even if it was a surrogate.. it's her body, her babies, no one else's business. Get a life and find something else to worry about.

As for the person who called her fat, Biscuit ODFOD

Buddah101 · 14/07/2017 12:12

I just dont get it Hmm I dont suppose beyonce cares for 1 second what we all think, But I do wonder what the purpose of all this attention is? Cant she just announce a pregnancy and share a pic of the twins without all the flowers/veils/mystery - if i'm honest it is all a bit shit and she does seem to have lost the plot- all this mother nature crap she spouted when pregnant, you're not the only person to ever give birth woman!

The picture they did when blue was born was lovely, natural - this is as someone else said upthread MJ territory now.

DistanceCall · 14/07/2017 12:12

That photo is like a case study in narcissism. Totally about her and the babies are an afterthought.

Because God forbid that a women should think about herself first, ever.

DistanceCall · 14/07/2017 12:14

By the way, I think the picture is a sort of continuation of the pregnancy one:

blukite · 14/07/2017 12:15

Is it just rumi or is it rumi Carter and sir Carter Carter? Grin

Dragonflycushion · 14/07/2017 12:15

Sad really. Having a pair of beautiful healthy babies is enough isn't it...without all the hoo ha? Talk about gilding the lily.

Figgygal · 14/07/2017 12:16

I used to really like her but she's just disappeared up her own arse

Sallystyle · 14/07/2017 12:19

It's a shit photo. The main focus is her legs and I can hardly see the lovely babies. But I guess that is the point.

Bejazzled · 14/07/2017 12:21

She hasn't a plot to lose. Just another self obsessed media and 'like' whore

BraveBear · 14/07/2017 12:22

She has one month old baby twin boys, all appear healthy, good for her.

It must be boy and girl twins. I can't see them giving a "Bow down to our mighty son" name to one and not the other. Rumi - girl. Sir - the one you'd better have respect for...

Didiusfalco · 14/07/2017 12:24

This photo is stylistically in keeping with her pregnancy photos. It's quite polarising judging from this thread, which I'm sure is part of the point- to get people talking and speculating about the meaning. What ever you think of Beyoncé she is very astute about business and managing her image so it's probably been very carefully thought through.

TheSeaTheSkyTheSeaTheSkyyyyyy · 14/07/2017 12:24

I guess being put on a pedestal and worshipped (literally in many cases) as a goddess can make a person lose the plot a little.

Fergus425 · 14/07/2017 12:30

I don't know if this is true, but I read (maybe even on here?) that slaves used to give their children names like 'Sir' and 'Colonel' because their masters used to hate using them (although thinking about it, wouldn't they just be referred to by their surnames?)

If there is any truth in that, perhaps that explains the name choice?

PhilODox · 14/07/2017 12:33

Our Lady of Hawaii

Oh let her get on with it. As long as her babies are loved and cared for, that's all that matters really.

blackteasplease · 14/07/2017 12:35

Rumi is a lovely name. Sounds perfectly normal to me as well as pretty.

Calling your child 'Sir" is totally losing the plot though.

hollyisalovelyname · 14/07/2017 12:38

It reminded me of something you'd see in an Italian or Spanish Catholic church on one of the Madonna's ( Our Lady) feast days. The statue would be adorned with flowers.
Completely bonkers and trying to grab attention.
Was there some altercation between Jay Z and her sister in a lift not so long ago?

abbsisspartacus · 14/07/2017 12:40

I just don't like the positioning on the photo

BogQueens · 14/07/2017 12:40

I love Rumi's poetry, but while part of me thinks that, the other part of me is sniggering childishly because I hear it as 'roomy', and in Hannibal Lecter's voice: 'Was she a large girl? Big through the hips? Roomy?'

...to think Beyonce has actually lost the plot??
BraveBear · 14/07/2017 12:43

slaves used to give their children names like 'Sir' and 'Colonel' because their masters used to hate using them

I think that's a myth that sprang up when celebs started giving their kids daft names like Royal and King, and their fans needed to find a way for it not to be stupid?

Actually I googled for an answer and found an online essay stating that slave owners would give slaves names like Caesar and King George as a joke, a way of mocking their lack of power, but slaves would continue to use their original African names among themselves.

Fergus425 · 14/07/2017 12:44

Brave ah, thanks for that.

ThymeLord · 14/07/2017 12:44

Because God forbid that a women should think about herself first, ever.

Well said.

Ciaovenora · 14/07/2017 12:51

Hmm. How long do we reckon before the 'spunked all the cash' stories start appearing?

I don't see that happening. They are pretty astute in business.......

Not a great fan of Sir as a kids name.

Pansiesandredrosesandmarigolds · 14/07/2017 12:51

She's fabulous. I don't think we should judge Beyonce by human standards because she's a goddess.

Rumi's a lovely name, and as for 'Sir' there's Duke Ellington, King Oliver, Nat King Cole, Count Basie, Lady Day, Earl Hines, etc... It's almost as though two African American musicians care about jazz history.

Smh.

JaneJeffer · 14/07/2017 12:52

It's probably some kind of illuminati thang Grin
