Son 27 bring girl home (1st one deleted)

Haribogirl · 09/07/2017 17:58

SO mumsnet emailed me and told me because I havnt answered any comments on the 1st thread people thought I was a troll.
I am most certainly not, reason why didn't reply was....
I'd written it just before I'd gone to bed, because i thought when I get up it will of maybe had some replies. Nothing else.

So fri night son comes in early hours(I half heard him)
Thought it the night I kept hearing the bathroom door being closed.
I thought he'd eaten one thing and had diarrhoea!!
So was in and out of sleep most of the night.

I woke up to hear him going down about 10ish and saying "going to get something to ear"

Partner came up to bring me coffee(he'd been up early)
So I said what the hell was all that noise with the doors last night.
He said you don't know, ..... bought a girl home, I've not slept all night with the noise and them talking and s..... till 5 ish

Well I was livid, he said he'd never do this although most of his mates do and I said no you won't.
When he came back, I went mad at him, told him he's no respect for us and if he want to do that go get a hotel room. It's our house not his and his room is still in our house.

Am I old fashioned (60)

Like everyone else said, he's 27. This is why 27 year olds shouldn't live with their parents.

And yes, you are old fashioned.

ThisBabyIsAnOctopus · 09/07/2017 18:00

😂

Seenoevil · 09/07/2017 18:01

Yes, your old fashioned

Queenofthestress · 09/07/2017 18:01

Yes, yes you are.
He's 27. He is an adult. He is going to bring girls home unless you want him to never settle down and move out.

HappenedForAReisling · 09/07/2017 18:02

Are you married to your "partner", OP?

Mammylamb · 09/07/2017 18:02

Yes you are old fashioned

ineedamoreadultieradult · 09/07/2017 18:02

He's 27! Where do you expect him to have sex...in the bushes? He either has sex in your house or you make him move out. Expecting him to live in your house as an adult but not be able to behave like an adult is very unfair.

Fruitcocktail6 · 09/07/2017 18:03

Oh not again. Yes, you're old fashioned. You're the same age as my parents and they are not 'old fashioned', you're age isn't an excuse.

NoLoveofMine · 09/07/2017 18:03

I highly doubt a 27 year old male is bringing a "girl" home.

Fairylea · 09/07/2017 18:03

You are being old fashioned. But - your house your rules. If he wants to bring women home and you say no he needs to respect that and get his own place.

BigDamnHero · 09/07/2017 18:03

I didn't bother to reply on the other thread because there were already tonnes of comments but of course YABU.

He's 27!! He's a grown man.

My parents were fine with my BF sleeping in my room when I was 16 because I was of legal age and they didn't think my sex life was any of their business.

Alisvolatpropiis · 09/07/2017 18:03

Yes, you are very old fashioned.

DotForShort · 09/07/2017 18:03

Oh, boy. Hmm

orangefeet · 09/07/2017 18:03

Does your son pay rent to live with you?

PurpleDaisies · 09/07/2017 18:04
Hmm
fluffiphlox · 09/07/2017 18:04

Not only old-fashioned but you've made yourself sound a bit bonkers. (I am pushing 60.)

crazycatgal · 09/07/2017 18:04

He's a 27 year old man...

Ameliablue · 09/07/2017 18:04

If he's contributing to the household as an adult he should be able to bring a girlfriend home. If you don't agree, I guess it is time he moves out.

MudGolum · 09/07/2017 18:04

He's not even married ffs. Get him in line.

He'll be living with you forever.

nina2b · 09/07/2017 18:05

The poor guy is 27. Of course you are unreasonable. You really have to ask?

RortyCrankle · 09/07/2017 18:05

I'm in my 70s and yes you're old fashioned. He's 27, not 7. However, your house your rules. Then it's up to your DS if he wishes to continue living with you or do what most 27 year olds do and find somewhere else to live, either rent somewhere or a flatshare.

insancerre · 09/07/2017 18:06

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

sparechange · 09/07/2017 18:06

Yes, you're old fashioned and quite horrible to him

What on earth has his social/love life got to do with respect for you?

He brought someone home. He hasn't trashed your house and stolen from you!

KanielOutis · 09/07/2017 18:07

DH was 30 when we first started dating and lived with his 60yo parents. We didn't share a room there until we were married. Their house, their rules.

Saiman · 09/07/2017 18:08

Your partner isnt your husband then?

Yes you are old fashioned. He needs his own place.
