People's Assembly

For those of us who are sick and tired and angry and devastated.

making a donation to the Kensington appeal would be a much better use of your money rather than just marching past

Another poster who can't fathom the possibility of doing two things at once. Is there a lab somewhere growing you people? It's bizarre. You do know most of us are capable of both donating and protesting, yes? They're not mutually exclusive activities.

GraceGrape · 15/06/2017 22:27

Thanks, I didn't know about this.

Blueemeraldagain · 15/06/2017 22:27

If the protest focussed on sending a message to May etc about teaming up with the DUP I'd be in. That could be a great thing. It could unite people across the political spectrum (surely most Tories don't want to be associated with the DUP?).

Gazelda · 15/06/2017 22:28

I think that the election result had a very powerful message. The tories got the most votes and most seats. Labour were far more supported then anyone imagined. The tories are forming the government, but are now acutely aware that they can't continue with austerity as before.

The march will make no difference at all.

Except for the police officers who will be out in force again, no,doubt with leave cancelled.

JamieXeed74 · 15/06/2017 22:30

whats the protest about?

YABU to post about a protest and not say anything about why!

time4chocolate · 15/06/2017 22:32

explodingKittens - I don't know, it could the same lab where they grow people who don't know how to deal with something that doesn't go their way maybe?

explodingkittens · 15/06/2017 22:34

Does the link in the OP not work Jamie?

OP posts:
explodingkittens · 15/06/2017 22:35

Nah, I doubt it, time

OP posts:
time4chocolate · 15/06/2017 22:36

I think it somewhat ironic to demonstrate against a democratically elected government

I dont think thats what irony is

biscuitmillionaire · 15/06/2017 22:41

You seriously expect May to not make a deal with the only people who can keep her clinging on to power? Of course she will. As would Labour if the situation were reversed.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 15/06/2017 22:43

exploding

You are not expecting people to actually read the link you kindly posted are you

Goodness whatever next Grin

Doobydoo · 15/06/2017 22:43

Thanks for sharing op.

UrsulaPandress · 15/06/2017 22:45

I dont think I've ever said this before but I really don't like your username OP.

But of course it's a free country.

With a democratically elected government.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 15/06/2017 22:47

Are you named after the game OP ?

Peregrina · 15/06/2017 22:48

Perhaps we should have an assembly for those who don't want Labour and would like the elected majority party to form a government to carry on.

Or perhaps May should have got on with forming a minority Government last Friday instead of messing around? She might then have been in a position today to have given leadership about the awful Grenfell Tower tragedy.

Not that her Government will last long, but at the moment, the general public has no appetite for more elections, with one being called unnecessarily and a Referendum to deal with a 'cat fight' in the Tory party.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/06/2017 22:48

I don't like your user name either op. It's violent and aggressive and conjures up a horrible image.

explodingkittens · 15/06/2017 22:49

I know, silly me, Rufus!

OP posts:
edwinbear · 15/06/2017 22:50

YABU. And horrendously insensitive given recent events in Kensington.

explodingkittens · 15/06/2017 22:52

Yes I am named after the game. It was on the bookshelf in front of me when I was choosing my username.

A discussion about my name has gotta be thread-derailing on a world-class level, though.

OP posts:
explodingkittens · 15/06/2017 22:52

Oh lol edwin, give me a fucking break. Seriously.

OP posts:
Shamoo · 15/06/2017 22:53

It's beyond irritating when people who clearly don't understand the concept of democracy attempt to use democracy as a reason why people shouldn't protest.

edwinbear · 15/06/2017 22:55

I'm sorry 'give you a fucking break' and 'lol'? I think you will find most decent people in the UK are not 'lol' right now at all.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 15/06/2017 22:56
