I've always been really down to earth. Working class roots, shop at Aldi, drive a Kia. I've never ever considered myself better than anyone else ever.

But today it happened. Went into Tesco to grab a loaf and saw my friend at the check out. She had 2 multi packs of pot noodle as part of her shopping.
I inwardly judged.
She's a lovely amazing person. But still this horrid inner snob judged.
I know iabu. I need a proper telling off. I'm a cow.

'What is this obsession with food being linked to class. It's an epidemic on here. '

Or the fucking orthorexia. 'OMG! How can you feed your kids that?! All those/that . . . ' 'It's why everyone is obese!' 'Can you believe I'm a 7-foot-tall professional basketball player and I weigh 10 stone? How am I not the size of my newborn daughter's wrist?' 'I never touch anything but the dust of unicorn corpses.' 'You eat what? I could feed a nation for that for an entire month.'

Pot noodle original curry is a work of art. Delicious. Ds1 loves them.
And yes, you are a total snob.

Instasista · 06/06/2017 19:36

Ah polar. Bill sounds like a keeper.

OP what's so bad about them? They're only noodles and flavouring. Hardly shite

DuffRose · 06/06/2017 19:36

There on offer £2 for four, probz stocking up

Elllicam · 06/06/2017 19:37

I want a chicken and mushroom pot noodle now.

WeakAndUnstable · 06/06/2017 19:38

Sweet and Sour Pot Noodles were pretty much my introduction to international cuisine.

Cromwell1536 · 06/06/2017 19:39

I thought the advertising campaign for Pot Noodle (the slag of snacks) was fantastic. "Ever since Ah were little, I wanted an easay life. Soh...I married a footbahller!" I eat the Indo Mie things (38p from my corner shop, same principal as PN, but without the pot), love 'em.

I work nights and Pot Noodles (and their own brand budget equivalents) are the go-to food for me and my fellow night shift workers. Portable, cheap, an easy to make hot meal.

I just don't get the food snobbery on here today. There's a gloating thread somewhere, about twattish toddlers pointing and laughing at those staying in 3* hotels, and who will only eat sourdough bread and falafel or some such nonsense.

Is this sponsored by the Daily Mail or something? Grin

donajimena · 06/06/2017 19:40

I'm in my PJs. I'm going to ask one of my boys to go and get me one from the shop. Darn this thread!

I lived in hospital with DD1 for months. Had only a kettle and a microwave. Own brand pot noodle+tin of meat+a few veg = dinner. I learned to boil eggs in a kettle. I owned every Sistema microwave dish thingy going.

Frowning on Pot Noodles isn't snobby, it's wanky and rather silly. It's a food stuff, not a wrap of heroin.

Highalert · 06/06/2017 19:43

lol at twattish toddlers.

Floggingmolly · 06/06/2017 19:44

I'm not sure snob is the right word, really. It kind of implies that it's a socially inferior thing to buy or eat a pot noodle... Confused

CivQueen · 06/06/2017 19:44

I've still got a cupboard of Bombay bad boys left from dh's 40th.

I bought him 40 of them as a joke side present, ended up trying one and loving it.

I must have eaten a third of them Grin

DangerousBeanz · 06/06/2017 19:45

That's it though, him not a food snob. I enjoy the odd take away, eat cake and chocolate. I'm not even slim. I had microwave rice with lunch today ffs.

But pot noodle..... I judged.

I'm ashamed.

Musicaltheatremum · 06/06/2017 19:45

I loved pot noodles as a teenager. Goodness knows why my mum bought them but I used to take them for school lunch. Wouldn't touch them now but still wonder......

BastardBloodAndSand · 06/06/2017 19:47

You need to save your judging for other things. I wouldn't judge anything someone else chose to buy, we all like grubby treats from time to time. I do however judge the way people treat others and attitude.......in fact I'd probably judge someone who was judging someone for buying a pot noodle as a bit of a knob 😂😂😂

SaucyJack · 06/06/2017 19:47

I judge microwave rice! It's shit. Just cook some properly.

They're crap musical, they've taken all the salt and additives out :(

DangerousBeanz · 06/06/2017 19:48

Not sponsored by the daily fail.

I would have really fucking judged if she'd had that in her shopping and not felt any guilt.

Laiste · 06/06/2017 19:48

They've got less salt in these days.

so i add salt
