I've always been really down to earth. Working class roots, shop at Aldi, drive a Kia. I've never ever considered myself better than anyone else ever.

But today it happened. Went into Tesco to grab a loaf and saw my friend at the check out. She had 2 multi packs of pot noodle as part of her shopping.
I inwardly judged.
She's a lovely amazing person. But still this horrid inner snob judged.
I know iabu. I need a proper telling off. I'm a cow.

I wouldnt judge , but i hate them! My student son buys the cheap own brand ones - i think they are horrible. Much prefer oven chips!

Highalert · 06/06/2017 19:25

Go on then, brag about the wholesome. worthy food you bought.

BlahBlahBlahEtc · 06/06/2017 19:26

Pot Noodles are like McDonald's, it doesn't matter where you're from or how much money you have, that shit gets eaten by every one at some point.

DarlingCat · 06/06/2017 19:27

Maybe she is a prepare?

DangerousBeanz · 06/06/2017 19:27

I had a loaf of sliced best of both kingsmill and a litre of bluetop.
Nothing special. For toast and cereal for the kids breakfast.

Orlandointhewilderness · 06/06/2017 19:28

I have some seriously posh friends. Pot noodles are completely classless OP.

Calphurnia · 06/06/2017 19:28

Festival or pregnant. Well, they're my only reasons

PolarBearGoingSomewhere · 06/06/2017 19:28

I remember taking my 80 year old grandma shopping, she is very straight-laced and even had elocution lessons... we spent ages looking for very specific cuts of meat, loads of fresh vegetables etc then she chucked in a 4 pack of Pot Noodles - the sweet and sour ones Shock Apparently when her friends come round Bill goes and gets them a McDonald's drive-thru ("I do have Tropicana with mine though") I love that woman.

AroseforEmily · 06/06/2017 19:29

I haven't has a pot noodle for years but this thread has made me need to them to the shopping list.

IHaveACrapCat · 06/06/2017 19:29

Bollocks - I am from working class stock, shop at aldi and drive an old Kia and love a chicken pot noodle.

However, I thought my 3x degrees meant I'd ascended to the higher echelons of the middle classes. 😭😭😭

Apparently not.

Oh and I always judge at the checkout. I could to a PhD thesis on it

Louiselouie0890 · 06/06/2017 19:30

If there on offer I buy a little bulk to fill the cupboard good for when you can't be arsed cooking

Honeyandfizz · 06/06/2017 19:30

You sound like a lovely friend Hmm

BadToTheBone · 06/06/2017 19:30

I hate them but my dc love them. We all love Super Noodles. Not sure what the problem is. I have a friend who loves PN's and also loves travelling the country to go to Michelin starred restaurants.

I am totally a prepper and hadn't even considered pot noodles as an option!!!

I'd eat them in a week tho, regardless as to whether society had fallen or not.

Theimpossiblegirl · 06/06/2017 19:32

Wondering if we can have a Pot Noodle emoticon to go alongside the biscuit for pretentious posters...

Highalert · 06/06/2017 19:32

My DS loves a pot noodle. He dips his microwave fries in them. I don't have a degree though.

Jaimx86 · 06/06/2017 19:32

Same as Jarhead - I'd never eat a pot noodle, but DP wanted one for lunch this weekend instead of the salad I was having. I judge DP as it's bad for his health (he had chocolate after and snubbed my blueberries), but his family certainly have a lot more money (and class?) than mine.

Leeds2 · 06/06/2017 19:33

I haven't had a Pot Noodle for nearly 40 years. I think I am going to buy one when I next go to Tesco. Wont be curry or sweet and sour though. They didn't have those back in the day!

FuckingSausageFingers · 06/06/2017 19:34

This has made me REALLY want a pot noodle...

Honeyandfizz
I am that's why I'm disappointed in myself. I know better. She's lovely, I think the world of her. I'm a nice person honestly.

But feckin pot noodles are so so shite. The plastic pot tastes better than the cardboard contents.

LightastheBreeze · 06/06/2017 19:34

If they are on offer, I get them in as DH takes one if he goes fishing as they are easy to make with his flask. I can sometime be seen buying about a dozen pots Shock

Highalert · 06/06/2017 19:35

OMG a Pot Noodle emoticon to post on the up their own arse food threads would make my MN experience soooo much better.
