For body shaming JC, that is just beyond vile and nasty. Glad it's looking like they will not win.

She is over.

I got my first Tory pamphlet this morning. Am trying to compose some graffiti for it.

Privileged, homophobic cunt?

MaybeNextWeek · 01/06/2017 15:37

'I finally got a Tory pamphlet posted through door. Today I get personally addressed version. I assume that they got my address from a letter I wrote to my sitting Tory MP'

Its standard round here to get personalised letters from all parties. I've never voted lib dem but I got a supposed hand written letter from them, including my never used middle name. It's all to appeal to the less cynical and easily led I reckon.

Its like Trump all over again, the less intelligent people seem to be falling for the under dog.

Do you think so? Seems like a rather different demographic and a very different manifesto to me ....

noblegiraffe · 01/06/2017 18:48

We got a pamphlet today with this on it.

The risk is just too big to take is it? THEN WHY DID YOU TAKE IT BY CALLING THIS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY GENERAL ELECTION, EH, THERESA?

God, they think we're stupid.

How dare they use Brexit as an example - the Tories created it!

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 01/06/2017 18:55

So were Trump and Clinton tbf.

JanetBrown2015 · 01/06/2017 20:21

Effective Tory poster - well done. I like it. It might well work.

Vote Conservative.

noblegiraffe · 01/06/2017 20:25

Can you explain why they called the election if the risk is too big to take, Janet? Didn't they learn about overconfidence in calling unneccesary votes from Brexit?

NotYoda · 01/06/2017 20:27

Janet's making funnies again

That pamphlet would appeal to a certain kind of person

Nicola Sturgeon was in the 2015 ones Id imagine because there wasn't a massive SNP representation in Westminster and she was first leader at Hollyrood for them.

They gained most of their seats in the 2015 election and now have what's his face (name escapes me) as their leader in the house of commons.

In 2015 they were very much a Scottish party for Hollyrood.
They won most of Scotland in thr 2015 election.
Now they are a significant Westminster party so first minister sturgeon doesn't need to be doing all the Westminster things. Though undoubtedly she'll do some interviews etc.

It's simply silly for people to compare sturgeon not debating (and sending the leader in the commons) and the PRIME MINISTER who called the election refusing to show up.

nina2b · 01/06/2017 22:23

The SNP leader at Westminster is called Angus Robertson.

MaybeNextWeek · 01/06/2017 22:31

'It's simply silly for people to compare sturgeon not debating (and sending the leader in the commons) and the PRIME MINISTER who called the election refusing to show up.'

Yes I gather you think it's silly, I realised by your 'stating the obvious' comment. The point was NS has attended previous leaders debates. It isn't like sturgeon to pass on an opportunity for a slanging match.

TM should have attended though really, though campaigning and not participating in a shambolic bickering session was obviously her priority.

MaisyPops · 01/06/2017 22:36

Thanks nina I forgot his name.

maybe Sorry if it sounded snappy. It seemed obvious to me. I can see why it might not be.

ArseOfInfinity · 01/06/2017 22:55

Hang on I thought May and Corbyn were going to be on question time tonight? Where are they?

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 02/06/2017 08:31

Question time is tonight.

makeourfuture · 02/06/2017 08:35

I didn't know May was anti Trump. The last I saw they were holding hands...

RedHelenB · 02/06/2017 08:41

Local Tory poster _ graffiti "strong and stable my arse "

Its like Trump all over again, the less intelligent people seem to be falling for the under dog.

The conservatives are using the same campaign tactics as Trump, repeating sound bites, scaremongering, not actually answering any questions, and nothing to back any of their policies.

noblegiraffe · 02/06/2017 09:12

'We'll issue a green paper after the election' = we're not going to tell you what you're voting for. It'll be like a lucky dip, how exciting!

The only policy they put a cost to was the free breakfast one and that turned out to be a total balls-up. No wonder they're not giving any details.

She called the election when she had a big enough lead that she thought she could phone it in. They decided to splash Theresa May across everything to contrast directly with Jeremy Corbyn who they assumed was toxic. But they won't let her stand on a platform next to him because they think she will come off worse. What does that say about their campaign tactic?

Tanith · 02/06/2017 09:37

"Its like Trump all over again, the less intelligent people seem to be falling for the under dog."

Elsewhere on these boards, Conservative supporters, and others who dislike this kind of thing, are up in arms about insults of "stupid, thick" etc. and you come out with this??
