For body shaming JC, that is just beyond vile and nasty. Glad it's looking like they will not win.

She is over.

He believed that the AIA wouldn't do anything to bring peace, and he was right So it would have been better without it? I don't think so, which, it could be said, is proven by the fact that Thatcher regretted signing it as well.

He voted in favour of the Good Friday Agreement, and that didn't hand the IRA a victory. No it didn't and that is because by then The IRA approached the British Government to bring about peace. The IRA and the Irish government wanted the UK government to encourage the loyalist to join a united Ireland. The UK government refused. It would be for the people of Northern Ireland to decide their own future. In so far as it can be called a victory, the UK was not cowered (as the IRA tried ) and the democratically expressed will of the people was respected. The terrorists failed to achieve their aims. That is a matter of historical record not opinion. So no, of course it didn't..

At some point in the future and because of Brexit (what else?) the reunification of Ireland will happen. Well that will be a pretty long way off in the future because the latest poll in Eire was 51% for reunification. But only 22% in Ulster. But by then, we might be in the grip of a Killer Bee invasion which could be put down to the resonance of Brexit as well.

This is all ancient history now but what makes my wee boil is that Corbyn's now pretending that he had his fingers crossed behind his back the whole time he took the stage with Sinn Fein down the years in the hope of bringing about peace talks (though everyone involved agrees he had NO part to play) but he never got the time to share any stage with Unionists. How many of them did he talk to in his quest for peace in NI? Did any of them get an invited to London for a cup of tea? And did he ever speak up the for good, brave men in the Nationalist SDLP who were being firebombed out of their homes by his kneecapping chums?

He's now saying he DID meet former prisoners who were convicted of IRA atrocities but (he say's) they claim they were never members of the IRA. Does he seriously expect us to believe that in The Maze Prison during the 80's and 90's people were serving their sentences on a Provo wing without actually being Provos?

The people who live of NI are the only ones who opinions count, and they don't want to be handed over to the psychopathic murderers who've killed 644 civilians. 272 police and 656 military and Corbyn supported that. He should be behind bars not standing in an election.

Oh and he's also a proven liar, as he proved in his A. Neil interview.

And I'm not even going near the fact that he called the Hamas terrorists - his friends.

Giddyaunt18 · 31/05/2017 18:05

So now TM in response to being asked why she isn't takin part in the TV debate tonight says: "Why is JC spending time on TV debates when he should deb thinking about brexit?"

Because you called a a general election when the government should be focusing on Brexit Prime Minister, that's why!

M1nesasweetsh3rry · 31/05/2017 18:09

She's a coward,-running scared, pure and simple. I'm so glad JC is going to take part in the debate. This will really show up May for what she is.

noblegiraffe · 31/05/2017 18:13

He should be behind bars not standing in an election.

Where do you stand on Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness?

noblegiraffe · 31/05/2017 18:15

What? TM is too busy with Brexit to do the debates but not too busy to visit homophobic churches?

nina2b · 31/05/2017 18:22

DinnerIsServed

Au contraire, getting properly involved is engaging with other leaders in live, televised debates. This format is one prospective voters are particularly interested in. The Prime Minister is afraid to be tested and found wanting. She lacks confidence and courage.

Don't know why you refer to Corbyn, by the way... I do not vote Labour, either, but Corbyn deserves credit for turning out this evening.

nina2b · 31/05/2017 18:23

Today 18:09 M1nesasweetsh3rry

She's a coward,-running scared, pure and simple. I'm so glad JC is going to take part in the debate. This will really show up May for what she is.

Yep.

MayhemAndRudderless · 31/05/2017 18:24

YANBU.

If Corbyn was to make a comment like that about Theresa May, he'd be hung up to dry and slammed as a sexist.

All the pressure is bringing to surface her truly unpleasant disposition. Her arrogance and 'me, me, me' attitude, are the mark a narcissist.

How is she to be trusted on negotiating with the EU, when she can't even face the leader of the opposition at such a crucial time as the general election.

Her lack of accountability and general disdain of the public is quite simply breathtaking.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 31/05/2017 18:25

Presumably debating/discussing will be a big part of the Brexit talks?

Perhaps she will opt out of those also because she is um too busy doing other shit?

MayhemAndRudderless · 31/05/2017 18:26

typos Blush

nina2b · 31/05/2017 18:26

In addition:

A successful politician should have charisma, for heaven's sake. To say she has absolutely none is FAIR comment.

DinnerIsServed · 31/05/2017 18:27

Nina So TM gets slated when she changes her mind on anything but it's okay for JC to say he's not doing the debate and then change his mind? And I refer to Corbyn because he's the only other possibility for PM so it's fairly relevant..... Some voters may be interested but not all. Personally I prefer the individual interviews. The group ones seem to involve trying to shout each other down and a lot of posturing.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 31/05/2017 18:27

The thing is - I bet they will all gang up on Corbyn tonight - when they should all be ganging up on May.

I thought it was good when Farron said last week that she was a huge wuss not to be there.

DinnerIsServed · 31/05/2017 18:28

A successful politician should have charisma, for heaven's sake.
I refer you to the US president - successful, but would you (or anyone else) say he had charisma?

histinyhandsarefrozen · 31/05/2017 18:29

May is campaigning on a strong and stable platform.

How do her u-turns represent stable?

How does her fear of debate represent strong?

nina2b · 31/05/2017 18:30

Wuss!? He should be roundly castigated for saying such a thing!!!!!!

Violetcharlotte · 31/05/2017 18:30

She's showing her true colours here. Awful woman. Just imagine the outrage if this was the other way round and a male politician said made a comment about a woman politician being 'alone and naked' and 'that doesn't bare thinking about'. We'd be outraged! But when a woman says it about a man it's 'just a joke'. Talk about double standards. Why anyone would vote for this vile woman is beyond me

histinyhandsarefrozen · 31/05/2017 18:30

The US president has - rightly - been massively condemned for having a personality that is unfit for high office. He is unpredictable, thin-skinned, impulsive, bullying, etc. Why would we not discuss these character traits?

histinyhandsarefrozen · 31/05/2017 18:31

'Wuss' was my own interpretation...Grin

M1nesasweetsh3rry · 31/05/2017 18:31

good God, even tories say she is a charisma free zone. She is actually
Awful to watch. What on earth is that thing she does with her mouth?

MaybeNextWeek · 31/05/2017 18:40

'Awful to watch. What on earth is that thing she does with her mouth'

What was it that a pp said about personal attacks?

'Why anyone would vote for this vile woman is beyond me' I will say the same about JC, not that he's vile of course but why anyone would vote for labour with him at the helm is beyond me. It is however his political beliefs that I disagree with, I doubt he's vile and I don't 'despise' him.

M1nesasweetsh3rry · 31/05/2017 18:43

But she is awful to watch. Her delivery is painful, her body language all wrong, and the Mouth thing intrigues me.
I have read before that it's a nervous tick, but I have no idea.

MsHooliesCardigan · 31/05/2017 18:44

I think pointing out the discord between her supposedly Christian beliefs and her policies is absolutely fair game. Nobody is criticising her for being a Christian per se. I very much doubt that Jesus would have slashed benefits to disabled and vulnerable people whilst giving massive tax breaks to the super rich and dismantling the NHS. At least with Trump, it's obvious that he is completely unhinged.
Maybot hides behind the veneer of being a respectable middle aged middle class woman and being a vicar's daughter is part of that. That's what makes her so dangerous IMO.

nina2b · 31/05/2017 18:46

histinyhandsarefrozen

'Wuss' was my own interpretation...grin

Ah. Smile
He was probably thinking that though!

Orlantina · 31/05/2017 18:47

She's campaigning on personality. She has made it about personality.

Strong and stable leadership. Her attack ads attack Corbyn. Not the policies. They attack him.
