AIBU to think that some people just don't get it? It's been given some rubbish reviews in the press but it is bloody brilliant! Grin Grin Grin
Do you have to be in your 40"s & from up North to understand the jokes, radio adverts, music, relationships?

I love this programme, they work so well together, you can tell they are friends.

TinfoilHattie · 19/04/2017 12:53

Watched episode 2 live last night (the one with the Belfast smurf) which was funny but then DH and I decided to watch the third one...

We are not the types to be guffawing and crying with laughter at sitcoms on telly. But this was genuinely the funniest thing I have seen in years.

As with all comedy it's the fact that it's such a simple set up. A man and a woman in a car. Peter Kay is a genuis, and his relationship with Sian Gibson is what makes it, in my opinion.

MrsJayy · 19/04/2017 13:29

Smurf Elsie is the funniest thing I have seen in ages I was crying with laughter

Testarossa1 · 19/04/2017 13:41

Have watched 2 of the new series. We live in Yorkshire, but not sure that makes My difference.
The dogging episode in series 1 had me and my DP laughing so much he literally fell off the sofa! Funniest thing on TV in ages!!

honeyroar · 19/04/2017 22:36

We caved in tonight after watching no 2 and binge watched the remaining two! The Safari Park one was pure comedy genius. And the music gets better and better and more fitting for what's going on.

But what and end! Encore!!!

Sunnydays365 · 19/04/2017 23:41

first time I have watched it tonight and it's bloody funny, even my nearly 12 year old got it, we are northern too!:)

user1472651064 · 20/04/2017 12:39

Absolutely adore Car Share. It's so re-watchable, there's always something in the background that you missed last time. I've not seen anything but rave reviews for both series.

The80sweregreat · 20/04/2017 12:46

i agree user that you miss things, others have mentioned the spinning hand in epi one, but i cant see it at all ( and i've watched it twice now)
i loved the people drunk in the street walking home - its the normality of what is going on outside the car that makes it so good ( and forever fm too, inspired)

BreezyThursday · 20/04/2017 15:54

I'm a complete southerner but have binge watched all S2 after hearing of its existence (loved S1). It's brilliant and I smiled all the way through. Not just the comedy, but the will-they-won't-they - I think they've portrayed that desire to just keep speaking to/seeing someone you really like so well.

littleme2017 · 20/04/2017 16:15

I wasn't overly keen on series 1 but I adored series 2!

I told myself I was gonna watch it weekly but caved and watched the remaining episodes this morning. I couldn't help it.

John and Kayleigh are just two very likeable characters. The comedy, storyline and music are just fab!

More please!

SquinkiesRule · 20/04/2017 17:10

I watched it for the first time as I kept hearing people go on about it being so good.
I'm North, family from Manchester, get the accents, the jokes, the music. Some parts I did laugh out loud, but I don't think it was that great to warrant all the love it gets.
Smurf Elsie was pretty funny.

humblesims · 20/04/2017 17:12

The actor that played Elsie is Conleth Hill - Varys from Game of Thrones!
Amazing! I had no idea and would never have guessed. He was soooo funny! Weeing outside the car made me laugh.

The80sweregreat · 21/04/2017 09:57

I just love its feel good sentiments - showing normal people going to work, walking home a bit tipsy from the pub, gossiping about others, traffic jams ( sadly a normal day around here!) The speculation about their relationship - even the good looking trolley guy and he his bum less jeans ! ( the ones at our big store are lovely blokes, but not as hot as that guy sad to say!) The music is also fab, but thats my age i think.

Spidermum89 · 21/04/2017 10:00

I was watching this last night and it made me laugh Grin I live up North and it just makes it even funnier. Especially the Pie signs when he was in Wigan Grin

The80sweregreat · 21/04/2017 10:02

i miss so much, i have watched a few twice and still missed things.
am not that observant it seems ( getting old)

Ifailed · 21/04/2017 16:41

will-they-won't-they

I thought the received wisdom on MN is anyone who even thinks of an affair should run away?

The80sweregreat · 21/04/2017 16:46

Dont read if you've not seen episode 4 yet:
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

They are both single so it wont be an affair, she just wants to go out with him as boy friend and girlfriend. He said that his old girlfriend left him in series one ( Charlotte)
They clearly get on well.
(I hope Kayleigh goes knickers to it all and goes out with trolley man instead personally! ) am over invested.

Wornoutbear · 21/04/2017 16:48

Not for me, can't find anything I like about it! I do live in the north, and there was some filming done in this area.

powerpuffer · 21/04/2017 16:54

Episode 3 had me laughing so hard I cried. Hysterically. I'm not usually a massive fan but think it's very watchable.. but the last 10 minutes... Brilliant!

Zoom Grin

Oblomov17 · 24/04/2017 07:16

Just realised that the drunken Smurf, Elsie, in Car Share is Lord Varys from Game of Thrones, and the wee'ing and the asthma inhaler ..... funny.

user1472308229 · 24/04/2017 07:22

The cars back window still hasn't been washed from the first series, but still a very funny programme

The80sweregreat · 24/04/2017 09:24

The back window winds up my dh so much ( his cars are spotless) I did mention it upthread and its because of the filming crew following the car i told.

Even in the first series he went through a car wash with Kayleigh and it was still the same. it is annoying.
