Do I drink too much?

user1491413344 · 05/04/2017 18:35

I drink a bottle of wine every night. DH says this is too much and thinks I should stop.

Is it too much? Thought it was okay.

Every night? Seems a bit much.

Can you do without it?

FlappyFish · 05/04/2017 18:37

If you're questioning it then that's your answer.

As a recovering alkie - and I've seen all sorts - that's a lot.

OnionKnight · 05/04/2017 18:37

Of course it's too much to drink every evening.

ExplodedCloud · 05/04/2017 18:37

Talk us through why you think it's alright

ElspethFlashman · 05/04/2017 18:37

Who thinks 7 bottles of wine a week is ok?!

GraciesMansion · 05/04/2017 18:37

It's well over double the recommended amount. I can't imagine it's doing your health much good!

sooperdooper · 05/04/2017 18:38

I went through a phase of doing that and yes it's too much, you shouldn't drink alcohol every day and a whole bottle is too much every day

user1491413344 · 05/04/2017 18:38

Yes every night.

It helps me relax and unwind.

NoCapes · 05/04/2017 18:38

What?! Of course that's too much!

IAmTheWorwax · 05/04/2017 18:38

That is a lot op. Do you really need to ask or has the alcohol killed all your brain cells?

Sweets101 · 05/04/2017 18:39

Yea it is really. I used to but had to stop. Was taking up far too much of my time and generally making my life a bit shitter. Which in turn made me want to drink a bottle of wine in the evening... And so on it goes.

owenjonesismyhero · 05/04/2017 18:39

I think its too much..... I'd have half a bottle and maybe a beer 2/3 nights and think thats too much too.

The expense too!

One bottle a week is the guideline.

user1491413344 · 05/04/2017 18:39

Husband makes me feel bad for drinking that much.

You're right, it is expensive.

My bank balance doesn't like it.

OP posts:
ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/04/2017 18:40

Well it's about 63 units a week. Guidelines are 14 units a week.

anyoldname76 · 05/04/2017 18:40

i think if you need to drink it, or if its a habit you need to stop or cut down. a bottle of wine every night is too much for me, i have a bottle on friday and Saturday night, i really fancied a glass of wine earlier but i know id end up drinking the whole bottle.

waterrat · 05/04/2017 18:40

Yes that is a huge amount. I drink a reasonable amount and think that is alcoholic levels of booze.

If you need it then yoi cant go without it?

DonkeyOaty · 05/04/2017 18:40

Oh man that's loads. Really not good for you.

Why do you think your husband is wrong? Or is this a reverse?

OnionKnight · 05/04/2017 18:40

I think all that wine has killed your brain cells OP, who in their right mind would think that amount is okay?!

ExplodingCarrots · 05/04/2017 18:40

That is a lot op. One bottle would floor me. If you look at it over a month that's 28 bottles !

user1491413344 · 05/04/2017 18:40

Well I don't really get drunk. Just tipsy really depending on what wine I drink.
