Cheese on toast AIBU

My method: grill on. Bread under. Slice cheese while one side browns. When side is brown, remove and flip over. Add cheese to non-brown side. Back under grill until cheese is bubbling. Eat.

DH's method: bread in toaster. Remove when browned. BUTTER one side Shock add cheese to buttered side. Grill cheese side. Eat.

I think the toaster part and buttering is completely unnecessary. AIBU?

2 bits of bread sandwiched together in a single toaster slot. When it comes out one side of each is toasted. Butter round edge of non toasted edge to stop it cooking too much, then grated cheese on top.

Preferably dipped in heinze tomato soup for me mmmm

Surely it's - toast in toaster, thin layer of ketchup, sprinkle of oregano, tomatoes and grill, top with thick slices of Cornish cruncher and toast until bubbling. Yum yum.

Your husband is correct

Flowersinyourhair · 21/02/2017 16:41

Listen closely. I'm about to change your life. Don't use butter. Use tomato ketchup on toast then add cheese, melt in the microwave. You have just made pizza bread.

I'm with you OP!

Your way but with horseradish sauce under the bread.

My bf makes it by putting bread in the toaster then slapping a bit of sliced cheddar on and eating. Wtf is that about

bluebellsparklypants · 21/02/2017 21:02

Your right op

However lately I've been frying my cheese on toast (as my grill needs cleaning) brown one side turn add cheese keep frying

Phillthefeminist · 22/02/2017 20:20

I don't care how the hell it's made as long as the wife cooks it and brings it to me.

WanderingStar1 · 22/02/2017 22:35

You are right! If you put cheese on an already cooked side then the edges will burn and there's just no need. And butter is completely unnecessary! (Though DH toasts both sides first, and an ex used to use butter, and I happily ate all of them....Grin)

Unlike when people put cream on scones before the jam, which is an abomination......Shock

Angelil · 25/02/2017 18:02

Butter unnecessary.
I actually don't toast both sides...have never felt the need.
I just stick it in first on a low setting so that the crust will be a little bit browned before I put the cheese on.
